Tony was on his day off, which he rarely got these days. Since he had either been so busy with the Avengers or his own company. But maybe one day he could get a large amount of the Avengers to go on a slight break, like maybe to the park or something. Just to make sure that they would have some freedom. Of course, usually that wound up as being some trouble for them, when they least expected it usually a villian would strike. But today he was mostly thinking of himself as he had on a heavy coat to help him with the snowy New York City life. As he was in the streets, he had spotted one of the coffee shops that had been pretty famous. He was used to the food that the Avengers building had offered, but of course it was always nice to get away from the food and try and taste something new. New York had plenty of opportunities for that as he pressed a hand on the door that opened to the building as he instantly was recognized by some of the citzens that were in it. "Oh boy, maybe this is why I don't go out that much these days." Tony said to himself as he looked up seeing some of them yell at him in surprise or happiness. He heard one of them shout out his name. As he came over to the cashier to quickly come for his order, "Um yeah can I just do this pretty quickly. One cup of your mocha coffee please? And here's my card that you can put it on." Tony said handing him one of his cards that he had him at all times. It was about five to seven minutes later after the coffee was done and the cashier swiped the card against the machine to pay for it. He held onto the cup as he quickly took his things. "Thanks." He added as he began to head out into the cold air again. Though the cashier looked like they hadn't recognized the familiar man at all that was all too well known in the city. He let out a sigh of relief as he began to take a walk along the city path to be a bit longer to the Avengers.

It was cold outside. The blonde girl edged through the automatic doors of the store-- shivering. With her teddy bear in one hand, she quietly edged her way to the corner of a store-- out of the eyes of the security. Really, all she wanted was the heat in the store. The jacket she wore was honestly rather pathetic. It was flat-- hardly even a windbreaker-- and ripped in various places. But it... It was the best she could do. It had been her favourite, once upon a time. Cynthia gladly let the warm store unthaw her fingers from Gerald's arm, and she picked up the bear and hugged him lightly against her stomach. She cautiously edged across the store-- making sure to keep to the sides of the store and avoid security. She'd been kicked out before, just because she looked a little...Rough. Cynthia glanced over her shoulder to make sure security wasn't looking her way, before turning to look at some of the clothes in the store. They were all really nice-- she thought with a pang of jealousy-- it was a shame she hardly had any money. The blonde girl's bright pink eyes lowered to her sneakers for a moment. Oh well. Mutants like her didn't deserve nice things like this, right? "Excuse me, miss." A large hand rested on her shoulder. Cynthia's thoughts shattered at the voice and the touch.
NO! Cynthia involuntarily whipped around and slapped the hand off of her, pink eyes wide. Without stopping to look at who had been speaking to her in the first place, she whirled around and bolted for the doors. "Hey! Kid!" Cynthia burst through the automatic doors and skidded to a stop on the sidewalk, eyes damp with startled tears as she paused in the crowd to look back into the store. One of the security men-- she assumed the one who had been trying to talk to her-- was speaking with the other. The blonde girl blew out a puff of breath and turned her gaze down to her shoes as people brushed past her on the sidewalk. She could feel her heart still pounding in her chest. The girl wiped her tears, hugging Gerald tightly with her other arm before turning and slinking into the crowd. There was no use in staying here now-- maybe she could find some place where she could at least get some shelter from the wind.

"Sir that was quiet fast for you coming back from the store. Did you get what you wanted?" Jarvis asked as the robot spoke up from his identicard to communicate with him. Normally he could have done it through his Ironman suit, but he had left the suit back at the mansion, being that he had no plans to wear it for the day-not a single villian had come up and poped out of the shadows. "Yes I did, Jarvis. The reason why it was so fast was because I nearly got torn up in there from fans. I figured out why of course why I don't go out that often, it's to avoid the publicity. Things like that are for the younger members. I have a feeling I'm getting too old for that." Tony said with a sigh as he listened to what the machine had to say, of course they didn't exactly have to rely on age.
"You're not that old Tony. You still have a lot of the spirit that you did have when you were younger." Jarvis said. At this point Tony felt his face starting to blush just a bit as he heard it. "Well I guess I'll take that as a compli-" However he was cut off as he saw someone move past. Forcing the crowd as well as himself to step back from avoiding being crushed or trampled upon. "Something just didn't look right about that." Tony said to himsef as he began to dash after the girl, of course there was the problem of avoiding all the peope, he had to weave in and out of them in order to get close to her.
"Heay kid wait up!" He called out. It wasn't a frightening call at all. More like a concerned one, as he hadn't realized that he was dealing with a mute. But at least he was decent with kids, in more way than one. It was just a shame he hadn't found anyone yet, he could have been possibly a decent father.

Cynthia edged through the crowd, her gaze plastered to the sidewalk. Her shoulders were pulled in, and Gerald was held close to her chest-- doing her best to avoid touching anyone or making eye contact with them. She lifted her head lightly to gaze around, making sure she wasn't walking blindly into the road. Hey kid, wait up! Cynthia tensed her muscles and held Gerald firmly to her chest at the call. Who was that? What did they want? She- she hadn't done anything wrong! The blonde girl swallowed and quickened her pace a little. Oh, no. She wasn't about to stop. She cautiously threw a glance over her shoulder-- catching sight of a man in the coat who was weaving through the crowd-- getting closer to her. Oh no. He looked rich. Was he the owner of the store? She hadn't stolen anything! Even if he thought she had, she couldn't even defend herself. Cynthia whipped her head forwards and began to dash. She weaved around people in the crowd until she found a less-crowded side street. The blonde girl branched off into it and slowed to a walk. She took a deep breath and exhaled again before turning around to face the direction she had been running from-- to see if maybe she had lost the man when she disappeared from the crowd.

"Sometimes like this I wondered if it was a good time to have my armor." Tony said to himself. "It's also good that you have practice being Tony, yourself you know." Jarvis added as he listened to the conversation. Tony was still having trouble weaving through the crowd as he tried to keep up with the girl. She was certainly fast, but Pietro was bound to be faster than her since it was his super power.
"Yeah I know. It's just been so crazy these days. It's like everyone wants Ironman but Tony's there too." Stark said to himself as he managed to get out of one part of the crowd to catch his breath for a bit. There were so many people here. No wonder it was easy for her to blend in with everything. He continued to look around for the girl, trying to remember what he saw about her, it was only for a few seconds. He knew one thing....she had blonde hair. He was actually closer than he had realized, but of course the crowds made it nearly impossible for that.
As he looked around he later spotted her through a gap, there she was, as he began to make his way over, but this time it was a bit more causitous as he let the crowd go through. "Heay kid, come on let me explain. I'm not a bad guy at-" However Tony was cut off as Jarvis just had enough time to speak,
"Tony someone's about to-" He too was stopped as someone slammed into him making him fall over onto the ground on the street. He dropped his Avengers Identicard which had his information on it but hadn't realized it at all since Jarvis had remained silent for the past few minutes.

She thought she'd lost him. But the thought only lasted a moment when her pink eyes focused on the man breaking out of the crowd. Cynthia tensed up a little, her gaze flickering about for some sort of... alternative escape route. Gerald, what do I do? she thought to the bear. But he replied not. She listened to the man try to calm her down in complete silence-- giving him nothing but a stare. She furrowed her brows, tightening her grip on Gerald as he cautiously approached her-- and then somebody knocked the man over. Cynthia opened her mouth in a soundless yelp of shock, and she flinched back as the man fell to the ground. She couldn't tell if that had been an accident or not-- surely it must have been, in this crowd... Her mindset flickered momentarily from fear-- to slight concern. Was he okay? Her gaze followed something that clattered across the ground nearby. Had he dropped it in that colission? Cynthia swallowed once, flicked her gaze back to the man, then went after the thing. She weaved around the people on the street-- and snatched up the card without stopping. She whirled around nearby and pressed her back against the nearby building to make room for the crowd walking before looking down at the card. She just couldn't help herself. What if this wasn't even his...? Avengers...? What is that? The girl furrowed her brows as she looked at the card-- flipping it over to look at the back, then to the front again. Anthony Stark. Have I heard that name before? She narrowed her eyes as she looked back up, holding the card in one hand and pinning Gerald to her chest with the other, and looked over the crowd to pin point the man. She would just... Give it back to him, and then leave. Easy as that. What did he even want, anyways? She couldn't recall doing anything out of the ordinary-- save running out of that store.

Tony winced as he felt his shoulder where he had been run into moments ago. It felt like there was going to be some bruising there later on as he shook his head to try and regain his senses. Though he realized that he wasn't hearin Jarvis' voice. The computer was always close by. As he looked around, and felt through his pockets of his coat he realized that his Identicard must have fallen out of his pocket when he least expected it. He wasn't like someone to loose things, this would have been bad though if someone off the street, who was interested on finding out where the Avengers were. He would have lead them straight to the mansion and they'd be accessable to almost anything. He had to find that card fast. "That was not a good idea to loose that card." He said to himself wondering if he could still look around for it, it couldn't have gone far. But knowing that there were many people in it, someone was bound to pick it up. He just hoped that it didn't fall into the wrong hands. So Tony stepped back up trying to think of where the card could have possibly fallen as he began to retrace his steps, trying to ignore the bruising pain from his right shoulder as well. "Tony, Tony! Is everything alright? I don't hear you anymore." Jarvis called out through the communications device. On the identicard it would have appeared as a bright light in one area of the card to show that the communication was on. The male voice however did sound a bit computer like as he was talking. However, it did not occur to the computer just yet that the card was in someone elses' hands. "If he lost the card I'm guessing he's not going to get back into the Avengers building that easily..." Jarvis said.

Where was the man? Surely he wasn't hard to find now! Earlier, she could hardly get rid of him. Cynthia scanned the crowd-- when a voice caught her off guard. It was close by, and she jumped, glancing about frantically for the source. Then it came again, and Cynthia looked down at the card as a bright light flashed, and the voice faded out. Huh...?
She flipped the card over, tilting her head as she tried to figure out where it was coming from. Was it talking? Had she animated it by accident? She didn't feel any different... Usually she knew when her powers-- Cynthia jumped, the card slipping from her hands when it began to talk again-- this time in a comment about its owner. It clattered to the sidewalk, and she scrambled to pick it back up and held it close. Okay, so this card was something important, she guessed.... After all, not just any card spoke... Was there a person on the other end of this?
The curiosity was a little too much for her. She made an attempt to reach out to the card with her telepathy. Mr. Card, can you hear me? she asked as she slowly branched away from the side of the building. If you can, I'll find your owner... You must be important if you can talk.[/i] she mused as she searched the crowd. Was that him? Cynthia narrowed her eyes towards the crowd and began to weave around the crowd to get closer. As she neared Tony, who seemed to be in thought, she began to slow a bit, her pink eyes clouding over with uncertainty. What if he thought she'd stolen his card? What if he got mad and yelled at her?
The thought alone made her shiver a bit. It'll be okay, right Gerald? she mused as she pushed out of the crowd to stand in front of Tony. And oh, was he even scarier up close. Shakily, the girl held out the card to him-- pink eyes wide and other hand clutching Gerald to her chest. She watched him warily-- as soon as he took the card back, she planned to bolt for it.[/size]

Tony had taken a bit to notice who was infront of her, he had been scanning a different part of the crowd as he saw the young girl infront of her now. Her long blonde hair down at her side as well. But as he followed her arm he realized what she had in front of her, it was his card. His Avenger's identicard to get back into the building, "Thank you miss." Tony said as he reached out to take it into three fingers. "Also I'm sorry if I scared you earlier. I just saw you in the crowd and you seemed frightened by earlier. I'm guessing that I was the one that frightened you. Is there anyway that I can help?" Tony asked trying to use calm tones, and there wasn't a bit of anger in her voice.
He hadn't heard a word from Jarvis yet but he had assumed that his computer was relieved that the card had been found. "Also the person you heard on my card was through a communicator back at home. his name is Jarvis. A nice man indeed." Tony said wondering by the fact that the mentioning of it being a machine may have frightened her. But he didn't want to scare her off again. Not once had Jarvis hurt him in anyway possible, and he was a trusted companion towards some of the other Avengers that knew how to use him.

Cynthia's hand shook slightly as she waited for Tony to take the card. She swallowed, and drew back sharply once Tony had taken the card. She wanted to sprint off back into the crowd, but his lack of anger stopped her. Rather, he seemed grateful. Cynthia folded her hands against her lap and stared up at him with wide pink eyes-- Gerald hanging limply in her arms.
She listened quietly as he spoke, and simply stared in return. She wasn't able to talk back to this man-- he didn't realize that, though. And she wasn't planning on taking her chances with her telepathy. The girl slowly shook her head, blonde locks falling about her shoulders.
When he spoke about the card, her gaze lowered to it for a moment. So it was a man? Maybe he had heard her telepathy, after all... She really wasn't sure. Maybe it was for the best if he hadn't. Would he have even known it was telepathy? Cynthia continued to look at the card with bright pink eyes, then lowered them to the ground-- almost ashamed.
Even if she could have talked to this fellow, would she? He seemed kind of scary, but he acted nice. She wasn't even sure what to think or do; she figured maybe the best way to act like she... Wasn't being rude, would be to hint that she wasn't able to speak in the first place. With that thought come across, she shook her head and glanced back up at Tony. With one arm still keeping Gerald to her body, she lifted a hand and began to use sign language at him-- it was the only way she could really think of how to get her point across to him.
I can't speak.

Tony had paused as he watched the girl, she seemed nervous as he looked over at her features as he tried to remain calm. He knew if he did make the wrong move it would have made her even more nervous, maybe make her leave if he did the wrong thing. But as he watched her do the sign language, he figured something out, he knew he couldn't read it that well, he picked out maybe one or two letters in it, there was defintely an I, referring to her self and then something that looked like spea. But he knew what it meant after placing the correct letters together in his own mind, she was a mute and she was using sign language to talk to him.
He wondered now if there was anyone back at the mansion that knew of sign language, there had to be someone. Their team was so full of members and diverse ones there had to be someone there that may have known it. But no one came to mind that could help them out.But he was willing to try another way to help her out, "You can't speak...that explained why you didn't say anything as I tried to call out for you earlier." Tony said as he reaized this. Then Jarvis spoke up again trying to see if he could help out.
"Sir if anything I can try and translate what she says. But you're going to have to bring her back to the mansion. She might not like it there." Jarvis offered knowing that the mansion was a large place, there were always people coming in and out of it and it may be a bit intimidating for the young girl.
"That is certainly a good point." Tony added.
