The day was still young-- only about 10 AM or so. The young woman crossed one arm over her torso as she strode through Central Park. The heels of her black boots clicked against the pavement, while the wind ruffled her curled, dark brown hair. She lifted the coffee mug from one of her favorite coffee stores up to her lips and took a quick sip as she went.
It was a nice day out so far-- more importantly, it was her day off. The only one she'd had in a horribly long time, and she planned on spending it right. A quick walk in the cool, crisp morning air, maybe a bit of lunch later-- hang out with an old friend, and maybe hit the clubs later tonight.
A light smirk flickered across Sonia's face as she swallowed her sip of coffee and dropped her arm back to its position at her side when she heard a noise.
Beep beep beep!
She groaned, slipping her phone out from her coat pocket and flipping it open.
Sonia, I know it's your day off but we could really use you back at the building.
Sonia blew a puff of air as she began to tap against the touchscreen of her phone to reply-- and then decided against it. Nope, it was her day off. Screw the building.
With that, Sonia clicked out of her texting screen and flipped her phone to silent before slipping it back into her pocket. Oh no! Now she wouldn't be able to hear her phone went it went off.
Besides, she had someone subbing in for her. It was her only day off in-- what? Three months?
They weren't dragging her back so easily.
Sonia chuckled to herself as she took another sip of her coffee and made her way over to a nearby bench. She took a seat and crossed one leg over the other-- setting her coffee down nearby, leaning it slightly against one hip to keep it from falling.
She wouldn't be letting them take her day off so easily. She planned to enjoy it to the fullest, as much as she could. Who knew, maybe today would bring about some interesting events. Her life had been pretty bland lately, anyways.
