He wasn't sure what time he fell asleep last night, he knew he was still on the hovercraft with hope but he wasn't exactly sure what time it was. He felt the vibrating ship underneath him as it was enough to wake him up out of his sleep. "Man what time is it? And by back hurts from sleeping in that funky position." Francis said as he felt his back ache from sleeping on the front part of the hovercraft. Ok so they weren't the best things to sleep on to when it came to long distance traveling. He stretched his back a bit to try and loosen the pain, it felt a bit better but it wasn't gone just yet. Maybe one he got up on his feet he'd walk around a bit to try and loosen it a bit more. he took out his identicard to see what time it was as the hologram brought it up, 6:00 am? They had been out all night? Francis looked stunned at this, he realized he was skipping a whole day's worth of classes for this, well hopefully it'd be worth it since he rarely skipped classes before one wasn't going to hurt him too much.
The other thing that bothered him was his stomach growled heavily from the lack of food that he hadn't eaten, that might be the first thing on his list once they land was to go get some food. As he looked down on the map that the hovercraft had up for theem he saw where they were and it had been in some place in Iowa. His father's home town maybe? There was nothing familiar about it as he looked around seeing the buildings and houses that were in place. It was nothing like New York with the massive skyscrapers and busy city lights. His next thoughts went over to Hope as he remembered that she went with him. He put his gloved hand on Hope's shoulder to see if she was awake, "Hope are you awake or did you manage to stay up all night? Also we're in Iowa now..." He said loud enough that she could hear.

Through that night Hope barely got any sleep, maybe waking up every fifteen minutes with jolting awake, worrying they were being followed or run into trouble. But she wouldn't take long to drift to sleep after. It was a continuous cycle and the red head was a little tired but not that much and she really wasn't feeling much hunger, mostly thanks to the Phoenix Power that she subconsciously tapped into now and again. And also the shaking of the hovercraft sometimes kept her awake but mostly it was her instincts of keeping alert no matter what that had her up most of the night. And the longest time she slept was for about thirty minutes before the time came when Francis awoke and the touch on her shoulder made her immediately open her eyes with some concern at first before relaxing again.
"No I'm awake now, and I might have only gotten about 3 or 4 hours of sleep last night. I kept waking up every ten minutes." Hope told him, yawning slightly and stretching her body, realizing it was all cramped up for mostly being upright or partially slumped over though nothing to the degree of Francis. In his position it definitely looked a little painful so she was somewhat glad she wasn't the one flying it. "And yea I noticed, seems we might be close to our destination."She said, giving a quick glance around at the city.

"That stinks. I think I fell asleep right after we left New York. I think my concern for the Avengers died down after that since it seemed like they weren't following us. My back is gonna be soar for awhile." Francis said as he stretched it out again feeling where it was rather tight. "Either way I think we need to stop and get something to eat. We haven't had anything since last night and that was probably twelve hours ago." Francis said still feeling a bit bad that HOpe hadn't gotten any sleep at all. Francis had been out like a light and was probably used to the noise that the Avengers Building sometimes had when it was certainly noisy by other members of the team. "I do feel bad that I fell asleep on you." He confessed already showing it that he had left Hope alone. Looks like he wasn't as awake as he thought. Soon Francis began to bring the hover craft to the ground so they could get up and stretch their legs and go get something to eat. He frowned again as he heard his stomach growling at him and was sure Hope could hear it.

"Don't worry about it Francis, not actually anything new for me compared to most other nights that was a decent night sleep." Hope told him as she tried working the cramps out of her body but it was going to take some moving around on foot to get them out. Although his concern for the Avengers was only a small fraction of what she had been worried about. "Trust me, think the Avengers have been the smallest thing on my mind. Two young Avengers alone riding out at night far from help is kind of an open target for some if you ask me so it was mostly my instincts that kept me awake." She explained to him, expressing the fact she did have some concern that they could face some trouble but so far nothing had happened.
Though the red head was glad for the fact they were finally landing, looking forward to more of getting rid of the cramps in her body than food. But she could hear the young archer's own stomach, making her chuckle softly as they landed and she stood feeling many joints pop and stretch after so long. "Think getting some food is a good idea, might also give us some time to figure out where we are." Hope agreed, glancing around a bit before seeing an old-style diner,"How about there?"She suggested.

Francis nodded as he listened to what Hope had to say. Being one of the older members he sometimes tended to worry about the younger ones. Francis had been with the Avengers since he was born so he knew them well, he knew the members well and his parents alone. But he understood what Hope was saying, "I understand what I meant. But if you do want me to wake up and let you have a break. I won't mind taking a watch." Francis assured her.
Once he landed the hovercraft he jumped out of the vehicle eager to get out of the hovercraft and stretch his body out from the cramped position that he had been in. "Sorry about my stomach growling. I haven't had anything to eat since last night at dinner time. Which had been kind of a quick dinner due to classes." Francis said knowing that he had been still trying to keep up with everything that was going on with the classes. As he heard Hope speak he nodded as he saw the diner that was not far from where they were, "Sure. I'd be happy for really anything at this point." Francis said as he began to walk towards the diner and opened the door as it rang the bell to announce their arrival. As he stepped in he could see already that people were giving them some odd looks but ignored it. He was used to it for living with the Avengers, he was sure they hadn't seen an archer in awhile or even a hero. It looked like it was a diner that belonged in New York city, of course they were in the southern states now so things were different there than in New York.

Hope only smiled at the mention of his stomach growling, having already said it was fine before. She had been attending classes there too while she could, mostly to keep her mind occupied from her constant rushing thoughts and worries of the past but it didn't always help. So with that in mind she merely followed the blond haired archer to the diner, stepping inside after him and ignoring the looks as well. To be honest, she had generally gotten use to it by now with her odd clothing if her looks didn't do anything. Instead she followed Francis to the rows of seats along a marble counter and sat at it, sighing in relief to be able to stretch her body more than on the back of the hovercraft which she realized many people were gawking at through the window seats where they sat or stood.
"You two definitely ain't from around here are ya,"One waitress said as she came towards them and handed them some menus. Hope though only smiled, "Nah, all the way from New York City miss, well he's from there. I just kinda moved there recently, all the way from the Last Frontier."She said kindly as the lady merely smiled back. "Well welcome to our little part of the Midwest."With that the lady left to let them decide as Hope began looking through the menu but murmured to Francis, "Well we're definitely in the right part of the country, we'll ask her if this is Iowa when she gets back."She assured him.

Francis didn’t mind it either but the looks looked like they were staring back at them, it was a bit unnerving at first. He finally got over it as he thought about it knowing he’d have to get used to it here. Francis sat down on the other side of the booth where Hope hadn’t taken it. The young archer also felt relieved not to be sitting in the seat that had flown them here, it was nice for a change of scenery as he sat down there in the comfy seat. “Well technically my dad’s from here.” Francis said knowing that he hardly ever stepped into Iowa. If he had, it was probably while he had been an infant and didn’t remember so far back. Those times were rare when he could remember something that far as a child.
Francis smiled a bit as she welcomed the two of them, which put his mind at ease as he didn’t worry so much about the stares. He did take the remaining menu to look through it. He seemed to have a hard time at first to try and figure out what he wanted to order. “Alright Hope. That sounds like a plan.” Francis agreed as he thought about it as he glanced back at the menu. He caught his eyes on something that he hadn’t had for awhile, even at the Avengers he hadn’t eaten one in some time. It was a southern style created omelets. No matter where you went in New York it was safe to say that the food was different, it changed with the lifestyles and as well as with the people that lived there. “It’s also nice having to get away from the food that is at Stark Tower. Not saying it’s bad but it gets tiring.”

Hope continued to look over the menu, seeing quite a few dishes that caught her eye and recalled how many types of restaurants New York had. But it was nice to not have to deal with large crowds and a noisy city and it seemed to not take long for others to back about their business. "I can agree a bit on that, much prefer the less expensive stuff anyway to be honest." She said to him as she eventually settled on something and set her menu aside before finally the waitress returned to take their orders. "I'll have a steak omelet with some toast, bacon, and hashbrowns please ma'am and hot chocolate."She told her.
As the waitress wrote down her order the woman then looked at Francis to see if he was ready too and Hope only glanced around more. Though she noticed something hanging on the window which she could see was a dual sided poster about a circus in town. "Ma'am, that circus the famous Tiboldt's Circus?" She inquired as the woman nodded, "Indeed it is, in town for another week at least."She told them.

"Yeah same here." Francis agreed as he looked back at Hope before looking over the menu and decided on the things that he'd add to his omlette. It wasn't long before the waitress came to take their orders, "And can I have an omlette as well, with bacon and some mushrooms in the omlette. And an orange juice." Francis asked as he told the waitress.
But he seemed a bit surprised that they were in luck to see the circus in time. They were going to have a chance to dive into his father's past and as well as learn who taught him archery. But he still wondered if coming to this part of the united States might have been a waste? No he couldn't think about that now. There had to be some answers here and he wasn't about to turn around just now. "We were thinking of seeing that circus or at least talking to someone who was in it. After a show or when they get the chance to talk to us." He explained deciding to give more away. However he jumped a bit as he felt the Avengers identicard vibrate as he was not expecting a message. He was sure that it was going to be one of the older avengers or his father coming in to yell at him as he took out his card to see who had called and sighed, "It's Tony, Hope. It's clear he figured out what happened last night."

"Well of course, you can likely talk to someone before and after the show. But you have to get there early otherwise it'll be a long wait." The woman said as she took the orders, "It'll be ready in a bit you two."With a final smile she left the two young heroes and went to place their order. Hope too though was wondering if this was a good idea as she looked at the poster, beginning to have some doubts about this. But they had come several miles already so there really was no turning back, they just would have to be cautious in their movements from then on.
But she jumped suddenly as well when her identicard went off and sighed picking it up, "You know we have to answer."She muttered before pressing the button to answer, "Tony, look before you get mad we can explain."

Francis could understand why Hope was worried, they could get into a huge amount of trouble, but it seemed like they were already heading down that road as Tony figured out they were leaving. It was probably too late in the evening for him to try or he just waited until the next morning for him to call the young Avengers. "Ok I'll listen to your story. I found out last night from Jarvis t hat you guys left but I couldn't get into contact with you guys last night. It was like the signal was jammed or something." Tony said as he spoke back to the two as Francis didn't seem that surprised.
"Look Tony we're digging into my father's past. You know, Hawkeye? He's kept so many secrets from me it's getting tiring." Francis said as he did his best to try and explain it. He also let Hope come in if she had a thing or to say to Tony. so far their older member did sound alright, he might have blown some steam off last night. It was hard to say.

"And I came with him so he didn't end up getting into trouble and we'd have to save him or not know. Even his girlfriend Neila wouldn't be happy about that Tony, I am along to make sure he comes back in one piece and it only seems fair he knows more." Hope put in, at this point caring little if Tony got angry about her response since he wouldn't get there fast enough to stop them. "Besides if anyone else knew you should inquire to Balis, he was down in the hanger getting something and saw us leaving." She added, glancing at Francis with relief that it was Jarvis who discovered them missing and not their fellow younger avenger.
Covering the speaker she muttered to Francis, "Guess Balis kept his word after all Francis, but guess we'll get grounded when we get back." She said to him, before removing her hand. Though she glanced over to see if the waitress was coming but so far their food was still being worked on.

"You've got several points there Francis. Neila'd be banging on the Avenger's door and probably drop some flames on us if she found out Francis was missing." Tony said as Francis sighed not wanting Neila to worry about him while he was away at the time. Hadn't she done the same to him on more than one occasion where she made him worry? He wasn't going to bring that up as of now since it might be bothersome to the others. Maybe for a better time. "If trouble does come around, and the only option is to call the Avengers, we can at least come in at some decent timing by using the quinjets. Just be careful I better hear more detail about this trip of Francis' when you come back." Tony added.
Francis looked up towards Hope as she covered his identicard, allowing Tony not to be able to hear what they said since the range was being cut off and muffled. "You're right. Balis did keep it. If it matters that much, Hope I'll be taking the full blame so you don't get into that much trouble. I've gotten into trouble in the past and it won't be anything new from the older members." Francis said knowing it was true. When he had been younger he had been well known to cause trouble for other members in the tower. He really didn't know how Hawkeye or his mom put up with him all the time. Maybe it was just for attention? He was sure that was part of the reason. Also he had competition going on with other younger Avengers like James Rodgers. As they spoke it looked like their food was still being prepared, perhaps they were taking their time on the food sine there weren't too many people in the diner from the looks of things.

"Tony, just trust us on this one alright? We'll give you a full report the moment we get done down here, I give you my word as a warrior and an Avenger." Hope said after she removed her hand enough he could hear, her voice having a firm determination and conviction since she wasn't about to allow Francis to face this alone. "If things get hairy we'll be gone before you can say Avengers Assemble."She added, trying to be as reassuring as she possibly could, glancing back at Francis as she gave him a shake of her head. "No Francis, I came with you willingly so I can share the blame. You deserve to know more about your family."She said, sharing that much with the archer.
She had for a while known little about her family and had to do some researching before she was able to come across her true family. And they may not have been perfect but she knew very well that she had learned what she needed and was glad to know it. Though before they could say anything else the waitress did eventually come over and gave the two their orders to which Hope thanked her kindly for it before the woman left.

"Alright, Hope." said Francis. He could still show the worry and concern that he had from earlier. He knew that he'd most likely get the bigger grounding than Hope did since he had gotten into trouble in the past. Francis was well aware at how harsh some of the grounding could be depending on how bad they viewed things. Then Tony spoke up again as he listened to the two as they talked. "Fine, you better tell me every detail when you get back. I mean it." Tony said with a serious tone and Francis recognized it.
Now as their food arrived, he didn't seem very fond of eating it after being yelled at. But the archer knew that he should eat before anything happened. There was always a consequence for moving on a day with an empty stomach. Not to mention it was pretty bad to do that. "Anyways Tony, we'll call you back if something does come up, and you aught to know about it." Francis said as he decided it was time to hang up since he noticed they were getting odd looks again. "Now I kind of lost my appetite for eating, such a downer for getting yelled at by an older member." Francis said but he'd do his best to eat anyways.
