Pietro stood on top of the roof that over looked much of New York City. To be exact on his location he was on Stark Tower, an obvious place for an Avenger to be but it was one of those chances that he took. Pietro had been feeling better after a week or so had passed since his recovering time. Not to mention even the recovery area couldn't keep the speedster locked away for ever. He was known not to sit still that often and even waiting was sometimes a pain for him as he had hardly any patience for it. It was a combination of a couple of things, mostly because of his powers and the other was from his father where his impatience had come from. For now Pietro was just glad that he was out and able to roam free without having to worry about the medical doctors constantly checking on him. The bandages had been removed from his head a couple of days ago and he still felt a bit soar. But none the less he wasn't blacking out or even fainting for the lack of blood.
But still the thoughts of his father still rang in his head, it had been some time since he saw Magneto and almost seemed hesitant to go into the city this time. He was afraid that he'd run into his father again and the same ordeal would happen. No, he shook those thoughts away, it wouldn't happen. If Pietro saw his father he wouldn't be afraid to punch him in the face for showing the anger that he showed him in return. But Pietro was sure that Magneto wasn't in the city as of now. There hadn't been any reports of his father in the last couple of days, and if he was that would have attracted the other heroes.
"That's right, if he does show his face around here he'll get a punch in the face, even he doesn't know about the boost of power that the terrigen crystals can give me." Pietro said as he smacked his gloved handed fist into the other one like he was ready to punch something. "For now I don't care what he's doing, as long as he doesn't show himself. Tonight it's just about me." Pietro said and without warning the speedster took off from the large Avenger's building and sped down into the city as he climbed down the tower like it was nothing. It wasn't long before he hit the ground and sped off into the night. His body appeared in a green and white color in order to match his suit. It felt so great to be running again, his muscles were moving as fast as he could.
As he traveled he however came to a halt on one part of New York that looked familiar to him. He had come across the area where Magneto struck him but there wasn't any hesitation as he sped past it. For now he was just enjoying his speed power. Though most of the others didn't seem to enjoy it that much as it caused them to be blown back quiet a bit like a strong wind gust had hit them. But Pietro didn't even seem to notice their complaints that much. Like he said, tonight was going to be his night.

For Garrett, he had likewise been recovering from an injury caused by the Brotherhood member Cynder from a stab to his side to a whack to the head by her tail alone had put him in the infirmary for a while. Since that fiasco Garrett had long since grown a more hatred towards their enemies, especially the demonic mutant girl. But he had healed a while ago, mostly thanks to speeding it up with his abilities of kinetic energy manipulation. With the healing attributes to his powers his healing time had been cut in half. He had to use it when the doctors weren't there however, knowing they would get onto him about it but they knew, they always did. His recovery time should have been at least three or three and a half weeks but it had been cut to merely a week and a half, much to the doctors joy and chagrin.
At this moment he didn't care, having decided to spend some time that night alone and away from the mansion, away from the doctors, away from everything. He needed some fresh air, needed to move around, a patrol or something. And this day he was going on a patrol, something of which he often did when bored, not teaching, or when he wasn't spending time with Jamini. As much as he loved her company he knew the two often needed their space and he was doing so now. Tonight he had been jumping across the buildings, clearing some gaps easily with his enhanced limbs thanks to his powers yet again until he decided a ground patrol this time.
But Garrett's attire was that of a normal clothing, thinking he was fine without his suit out in public. He wore a electric blue colored plain t-shirt, dark jean pants, boots, and simple black leather jacket as if he was another pedestrian. Inside his pocket was a retractable bo-staff and of course he also had a pocket knife if things were to ever get nasty. Though more often than not, Garrett did just fine with his fists alone, or going toe-to-toe with someone in full on close combat. He knew how to fight in armed and unarmed combat so Garrett was far from being helpless and most often used weapons when he needed them, mostly the bo-staff, whether metal or wood he could use either without much issue.
Though tonight, one sight did catch his unusual gaze-that of a blue and green blur moving through Time Square. A color familiar to the speedster Avenger Pietro Maximoff, which made him wonder if he was out on patrol as well. Having never met Pietro before Garrett actually held no ill will towards the former Brotherhood member and was mostly curious to meet him so when he was in range he called out, "'Ey Quicksilver, where ya off ta in such a hurry?"He asked him, hoping he would even be heard.

As Pietro raced through the city he seemed to be enjoying himself clearly but the speedster wasn't out on a patrol. He had come to get some time by himself and use his powers. He had been kept away in one of the medical rooms for most of the week and he was starting to want some fresh air. Sure that boredom he had been holding in was cured once Carol arrived, he was glad he saw her, and he could tell her the most recent events that happened on how he wound up in there in the first place. And she also discovered a little bit about his past, that was something he wondered if he could have avoided, but it was too late now as she found out about the terrigen crystals.
As he ran he heard a voice that surprised him, he almost thought it was Gambit, it had that Cajun style that was pretty clear. As he stopped his feet skidded on the ground as he put on his breaks to avoid running into the walls of the buildings, he didn't want to get into another accident again and wind up in the hospital. Carol would probably yell at him too for being so clumsy. "Gambit?? I could have sworn that was him." He said as he mistook the younger mutant for the thief. He looked around but saw no sign of the familiar thief that he had run across from time and time again while he was with the Brotherhood and no doubt clashed with due to their differences.
Pietro's confusion faded as he realized that the voice wasn't coming from Gambit but from someone else, he hadn't exactly seen before or met and this would be the first time he'd meet Garret as well. "Oh so that was you who spoke. For a second there I thought you were Gambit, he has a similar accent and it's pretty hard not to miss. To answer your question though I was out more for a 'stroll' in my terms. I was cooped up in the medical room for some time and I thought I needed to get out of there." Pietro said as he looked back at Garret. "But since you already know who I am, may I ask who you are?" Quicksilver asked as he looked back at Garret wondering if he'd reply to his question. Or better yet, he might make things a bit of a mystery.

Garrett watched as he captured Pietro's attention but had to hold back a chuckle of amusement as the speedster not only stopped but immediately called out Gambit. He had gotten many mistakes of being the original X-man Gambit, they came from the same plac,e had similar powers, but there were differences as Garrett had amore advanced form of Kinetic energy powers and he was half hispanic. Often because of this heritage mix he'd use French and Spanish together sometimes in the same sentence and often this disproved that he was anything close to being like Gambit. Sometimes he really didn't mind and could easily explain the differences and often others realized their mistake, which was the current case with Pietro.
"Oh I get dat a lot mon ami, ya aren't ta first to mistake me for LeBeau." Garrett assured him, giving a slight shrug. "And da names Garrett Feroce, some call me Armel for mah codename which basically stands for Warrior Prince."He explained to him as he glanced around Time Square briefly to keep alert still. "As for me, I'm on patrol in a similar situation. Was attacked by one of da new Brotherhood members, ended up putting me in da infirmary for a week and a half." Garrett though realized this might not be something Pietro might be surprised about but he wasn't treating the speedster with any hostility, like those of his older teammates like Kitty, Scott, or even Rogue.
"Anyway, I saw ya around and thought ta meet ya. Of course, hear about ya and da Brotherhood from time ta time, but can't exactly judge someone without knowin' da truth yourself."He added, knowing Pietro had long since became an Avenger and hadn't heard anything bad about him in the many years fro then.

"Oh." Pietro said. From the sounds of things the Brotherhood members were going on rampages through New York. It wasn't a complete surprise as the Brotherhood loved to cause trouble for the citizens. Pietro would after all know as he was a previous Brotherhood member; he was familiar with their ways on how they tormented the weak and the humans. "That's not in the least bit surprise to me. They don't like humans at all and will do just about anything to cause trouble." Pietro added knowing it was true. "I actually confronted my father about a family member and it seems he's still having issues on getting over the past. I don't get why it's taking him so long to get over it." Pietro said shaking his head. His white hair bounced along with him as he had kept it blown back from speeding around. However when he was done he looked back at Garrett as he introduced himself, now he could see why so many people confused him for Gambit. The accent, the powers and even his looks looked somewhat like him. But he was sure not to make the same mistake twice when he ran into Garret the next time he saw him.
Pietro had indeed noticed that Garret was different than most of the other X-Men he had run into in the past. A lot of them still harbored old feelings that weren't quite the same. There were many X-Men that hadn't trusted Pietro which was why he never showed his face around the institute. It was in fear that they'd no doubt try to strike him for revenge, even though he hadn't done evil things in over fifteen years. "But I haven't been on the brotherhood in about fifteen years. It's been a long time since I've done anything bad, still most of the older X-Men don't trust me. So it's at least good to hear that there is someone who doesn't hate me on the team."
Though there were thoughts that he knew someone else on the X-Men who hadn't hated him either. It was Horus. He hadn't seen Horus in some time, so he wondered what the other hero had been up too. Maybe Garret knew him? There was only one way to find out, "I did actually meet awhile ago a younger X-men that was about your age, have you heard of a person named Horus? I ran into him while fighting a brotherhood member a few months ago."

"Trust me, da haven't changed a bit. Who eva da chica was she gave us and da Avengers a run for dere money." Garrett told him, rubbing his side subconsciously when he thought of where Cynder had stabbed him but had luckily not been scarred thanks to the doctors and his powers preventing that. Not to mention her tail hadn't gone in deep enough to cause any lasting effects that would likely still be crippling for him now. Already his teammate Lance had been hospitalized in the past some months ago and now he was the next one to have gotten forced to laying in bed for a week and a half and told not to move. He also knew better than to do that around Kitty. That woman could be stern and ruthless in her own way, so he had known better than to complain when she was around.
Though he looked thoughtfully at Pietro and nodded, "Well some things are jus' hard ta forget in da past, some things are jus' too painful ta give up an' accept whole heartedly." He told him, knowing even he had painful memories he had tried to bury or bury his past to not think about his parents. He had become enstranged from them and was the reason he was even at the X-mansion right now and all these years. "Like ah said, some memories are jus' hard ta let go but give it some time dey will come around. Or leas' ya got da younger generation ta look forward ta not being like da previous one." He said, unable to really say much on that part. He knew what it was like to hold a grudge for years as he still harbored ill feelings towards his own family and hadn't even been back to Louisiana since he was seventeen.
But Pietro's next inquiry surprised him, as he could only shrug slightly. "Seen 'im around but don't talk ta 'im much. And he really isn't part of da team, mostly there ta help one young girl he found some weeks before. Not sure on all da details but I hear he's almost like a father or brother figure ta her."

Pietro hadn’t easily forgotten about the older avengers, he was sure like some members such as Scott and Jean Grey hadn’t easily forgotten about him either. Old feelings were hard to forget and he learned that the hard way with his father, “Seems the villains are picking up their schedules on terrorizing New York. It’s hard to make the media stop worrying about it since they always seem to arrive on the next fight or even show it on the tv. Still it’s good to hear that you’re alright as well.” Pietro added knowing that there were many teams forming. Even his father was building the Brotherhood back up; it was likely that he recruited some of the older members again that Pietro had been familiar with in his time. There was Sabertooth and Toad; those two were probably back at it again in their old ways. “I made it clear to my father, one other time when I was with him; I didn’t want to join the Brotherhood again. He’s at least well aware of that.”
Pietro listened to Garret as he spoke up about how it took some time for people to forget things, well that was true. He had to agree with Garret’s words of wisdom as they seemed to be coming to the Avenger. He knew his father might not forget things any time soon but there might have been a tiny ounce o f hope for the X-Men. He already made a leap forward with joining the Avengers and showed that he could make a difference not by harming or hurting humans. But he was there to help avenge Earth. “You’re right about those things Garret. I am not keeping my hopes up on my father, but maybe there’s still a chance with the X-Men in righting all I did.”
“Oh.” Pietro said as he spoke up about Horus. “I only asked because I ran into Horus while fighting a Brotherhood member. He’s quiet skilled in fighting as I saw him fight the other member, I couldn’t do much since the wind had been knocked out of me for awhile but I saw a good chunk of what he could do.” Pietro added as he recounted the events with the girl Magneta. He hadn’t seen the mistress of magnetism for some time which was a relief. It was like he was fighting his father all over again with her, but she was different in a way. She was not his father; he figured out with Horus that she might have been a forgotten sister. Even if Magneto disagreed with that, Pietro still had a funny feeling that was the case. And Horus confirmed it on smelling her scent; it had just been like their father’s.

"Well day are always lookin' for da next big scoop mon amie, so it probably shouldn't be dat surprising. Fights going on across New York City is always worth a story 'n da six o' clock news after all." Garrett pointed out, recalling several times that the X-men and Avengers had been in the news sometimes for good things other times for bad or the edia portraying them as such. When it came to mutants it usually was in a negative light and rarely occurred for good, often comparing them to the likes of Magneto and he knew that incident had to have been on the national news. "Course, wouldn't 'ave surprised me if day news had shown dat on the networks, was quite a fight but didn't get a chance ta see it all with being knocked out and all." He said, recalling briefly the events before he had felt something hard hit him, being told it had been Cynder's tail.
Though he could only nod at Pietro's next words before listening what he was saying about Horus. Now who could this enemy be from the Brotherhood he was talking about? One that could even knock the wind out of the likes of Quicksilver. "Oh? An' what kinda enemy were ya two facing exactly?" He inquired, now listening very intently since this could be information he could pass onto the other X-men and students. If there was a new threat they had to be ready for it, they had already been caught by surprise by one new member of the Botherhood they couldn't be caught unaware yet again. If they had even the smallest fraction of a chance they might be able to prevent another fiasco like the faked death of Charles Xavier.

"I wouldn't be surprised. Most of the Avengers are big celebrities on the news or just in general. Ironman can't even resistit from time to time." Pietro said knowing it was true as he shook his head. Quicksilver wasn't a huge fan of the paparazzi or the news when they came in to ask what was going on. It was probably going back to the days of being on the Brotherhood he learned not to trust the media. And that just never change. The news was nice of course, as long as they didn't invade your own privacy. "But that's strange I didn't see it. I must have missed it since I slept a lot over the weeks that I was still in the recovery room."
"Well..." Pietro paused as he decided to put away his theories on who Magneta was. It already caused him a world of pain from his father. He wasn't about to go down that road again. Well he knew that Garrett wasn't likely the one to throw fits of rage at the first person he encountered like his father. "She called herself Magneta. As the name states, she was just like Magneto, she had all his powers to when it came to magnetism. Except she called herself the mistress of magnetism and gave us quiet the fight." Pietro said. He had also been aware of Xavier's death as the Avengers opened their doors to the X-Men any time they wanted to come over. That was certainly a kind thing for Tony to decide on what to do, of course Pietro avoided that moment that the two Avengers and X-Men met since he knew if he went, trouble was bound to stir.

"Yes, da media can be quite cruel at times. Even us X-men can hardly do something without gettin' da wrong light put on us for tryin' ta help." Garrett said with agreement, recalling a few times when they had done a few missions to actually save New York but weren't always seen as such because of the damage that would usually follow. And sometimes Garrett had to admit he was a bit of a show off and maybe from time to time when the paparazzi and news weren't being some of their usual selves it could be quite fun. Although, he could remember a number of times he had been reprimanded or scolded but usually didn't care. "Can admit though, I'd likely take up dat attention from time tat time, bit of a show off mah self."He said with a chuckle.
But as before Garrett still listened closely, frowning when hearing what Pietro was telling him. Another person like Magneto? Polaris would have been bad enough if she decided to return to her father's size and she was already known to share many of Magneto's powers but another person with them was bad news. This could very well mean more trouble for New York as the place was practically called the "Metal Jungle" for a reason. It likely could be turned to nothing in a matter of hours between this Magneta and Magneto. This was definitely something he had to let the others know.
"Well, dis isn't quite da best news ta hear."Garrett said, frowning in thought. "If dis girl gave even ya a run for ya money Pietro I'm guessing she'd really be no different in terms of power." He said, still concerned greatly about this despite if Magneta wasn't exactly like Magneto in personality.

"I agree with that one. The media has always tried to get on the Avengers, and sometimes they enjoy it a bit too much. Me I really would rather be left alone than bothered by them. They've bothered me once in the past when I was on the brotherhood and that's all I need." He had especially wanted it if his sister did as well. Pietro had bad experiences with the media when they were broadcasting the Brotherhood's activities when they were in New York. It was always the same, they had it constantly put as the Brotherhood were the evil villains, and the valiant X-Men or Avengers would be the goody heroes. It was always the same story from start to finish and it had frustrated them. Shed some different light towards their viewers for a change maybe?
"I'm sorry if I seem like a bit of a downer towards the media. They've just given me some bad experience is all." Pietro said as he apologized for Garret. Some people just had different views on things towards the media. He remembered a couple of stories calling Spider-Man a menace still but was he really that bad? He had been a helper towards the Avengers on many occasions and had been wonderful for aid. But his thoughts ended there as he remembered the event with Magneta and he nodded in agreement.
"Yes it's weird. It's like I'm fighting my father with those kind of powers, and I've had experience in fighting him in the past. But she's younger than he is. That means she has far more ability on her hands." Pietro said in agreement as he thought about their event with Magneta. It was so confusing. He wanted to find some answers, but perhaps something's were better left unsaid. That was what Magneto had warned him with earlier hadn't he? Maybe he just needed to keep his mouth shut...

"Guess jus' depends on who ya are and where ya loyalties lie sometimes, ya know?" Garrett said with a shrug, knowing the media usually lied about things and tended to twist the truth to get certain actions and responses from their audiences. Not much one could do while sometimes they were lucky to get the real truth behind things. Still, he agreed with Pietro that the media could become quite the nuisance and knew there had been a few different reports here and there that were good and bad. "None taken, ya 'ave a point dere so can't exactly say no ta dat." He said, waving a hand to show it really didn't matter. He liked being a show off but there were times he usually just did it out of enjoyment and to be a role model.
Garrett once more nodded, glancing over a it when he heard sirens, "Well, ya old man is gettin' on in life Pietro, she might jus' end up being da new Magneto, so ta speak." He told, giving a slight shrug. "Might be a coincidence she has his powers, but can't forget dat your sister Polaris does too. Some are bound ta 'ave some of da same powers after all."He said, not really thinking much of it at this point nor suspecting anything of this Magneta. To the young cajun, it just sounded like a case of a mutant having very similar powers as Magneto and likely to take up his mantle rather then Lorna.

"I suppose you're right on that one." Quicksilver said with a soft nod. As he thought about it, Garrett was right. His half sister Polaris had the same magnetic abilities as Magneto did. So maybe it wasn't a complete copy cat like he thought she was. There was something about Magneta that made him think of his father-obviously besides the powers and also the suit but she had a similar personality like him. She would love it if humans bowed down to her in fear, obviously she wasn't doing that now. Anya was in Genosha probably working on their next plotting scheme as the knew it.
"Yeah you're right. Maybe I just need to stop worrying about her at this point." Pietro said agreeing once more. Come to think of it, his own nephew speed had similar powers, though Speed had a bad stubborn side of where he thought he was so much better than him. But Pietro's days of messing with the law were pretty much over unlike Speed's. Once Magneto left the first time, that had been the end of Pietro's villainous career and it was time to start over. Maybe Speed would recognize that one day, the law would catch up to him. "Come to think of it, I have a nephew that has similar powers to my own. He always thought that he is the best in trying to beat me to when it comes to speed. But tch, I never caused as much trouble as he did, when I was as a teenager."

Garrett nodded then at both examples, "Well da younger ones tend ta think dey are better than anyone else ya know. I kinda recall a time ah was like dat for a time, well when it came ta my parents, always was going against dere wishes." He said, recalling his younger years as a teenager and how he had gone behind his parents' backs just to do something he loved and the reason he had his codename. Technically, it had been his ring name when he was fighting and it eventually came to fit well since Garrett knew several forms of martial arts and fighting styles, not to mention some weapons use. It came in handy when not using his powers or he could increase the attacks with the use of his powers themselves making it quite deadly sometimes. But he hadn't used them recently because of recovering.
"Ya could take my Kinetic Manipulation as an example too. Gambit 'as da same ta a point, but his involves making things explode where mine doesn't exactly do dat all the time. Ah can actually use kinetic energy ta far greater extents than he can." Garrett added, showing that despite many similarities between himself and Gambit there were also many differences. And the fact was they weren't related in any way. But the longer they talked the more Garrett became aware that it was starting to get late and he knew he likely would have to head back soon. "Sadly, we may have ta break up dis chat Pietro, ah have ta be getting back ta da mansion pretty soon."He told the speedster.

"You've got a point with that one, Garrett. Even if he does think he's better he still has a lot to learn to when it comes to possibly being a hero or even a villain. Whatever path he wants that's up to him." Pietro said knowing it was true. The young ones these days thought they were the best, but they still had to listen to their parents and even the other adults that were in their lives. He saw a lot of that in the younger Avengers who were eager to use their powers and become heroes like their parents.
"I remember Gambit's kinetic powers, all too well. That's interesting that yours are simliar to his." Pietro added. Pietro nodded he remembered Gambit's kinetic manipulation all too well when he fought the X-Men back on the Brotherhood. He also seemed to be aware that time was coming short for the both of them. "Well I guess I'll see you in the future at some point. Knowing how the Avengers work we'll probably see each other again as we work together with common goals in stopping villians." Pietro said as he looked back at Garret. Since their conversation was starting to wind down he'd let Garret leave and head back. he probably was busy there just as he had been in the Avenger's mansion. But with the injury he was advised to keep it low for a few days. A few bits of harsh training would probably make things worse.
