Tony had been checking on Quicksilver for the past couple of days now to see how he was doing. The speedster wasn't interested in talking it seemed as he was trying to talk through on what happened. For once Quicksilver was not speaking and it was well known around the Avengers that he was quiet the talker. He wondered if close ones that were still around were going to have a better chance of getting through to him. There was Wanda and as well as Carol who he knew to be close to Quicksilver, but he was sure there were a few others that he had not heard about. He remembered Pietro talked to a few times towards Horus who seemed to have another close friendship that was starting to form with the younger X-Man member. Tony was now out on a break as he rested like the others as he was having some relaxing time along with the other Avengers that were there. Some were waiting around and just lounging or others were waiting for the other classes to start and had some spare time before they would go off again.
Tony meanwhile went over to one of the windows as he looked down at the city below. Up there they felt like tiny little dots, the civilians that were down below and were being watched by the buildings that soared up into the sky. Tony's tall building was ninety three floors high, which was one of the tallest buildings in New York. Tony was not in his armor but dressed in casual clothing, he wasn't even going to think about wearing a suit and tie. That was him on special occasions and this was more of a casual day for him. When he was teaching he normally wore his suit which of course was not a suit as well.
It was also a place that some people came to visit for tourists since they knew it was the home of the Avengers due to having the large A on top of it. It was originally supposed to say STARK. But when the fight with Loki continued, nearly all the letters fell off in it but the A. "Poor kid he's not talking about what happened and I'm assuming he doesn't want us to worry about it. Still it's Magneto we're talking about. Tread down the wrong path with him and you'll get your but kicked into the next solar system." Tony said as he crossed his arms. Although Tony was still aging, you could see a lot of white hair starting to form on his hair but even he wasn't about to let age hold him back. Tony still had to worry about the Avengers and his own Tower, he couldn't think about retirement any time soon. In fact he probably couldn't retire at the rate that he was going as long as he still was kept busy amongst his ever constant tasks.

Like Tony Hope was trying to relax while she could, knowing that there wouldn't always be periods of peace where they could wind down and not be heroes. It seemed to happen all the time and she was quite surprised at this but seemed really nothing new to her, considering her time jumping she had done for the first seventeen years of her life. At this rate things rarely surprised the red head. But becoming an Avenger felt like the best decision at the time and so far Hope had been adjusting quickly, although she still missed her adoptive parents greatly and would still occasionally call her biological mother and grandmother. Both of them seemed to be doing well despite her absence so she wasn't too worried right now.
Yawning softly Hope was coming down stairs from her room after changing into more casual clothes, having taken some time to train for a while in the morning but by now it appeared to be the afternoon. But as she was coming up to the relaxation area she overheard Tony and paused at the door way, leaning on the door frame when seeing something seemed on the man's mind. She had heard about Pietro's encounter with his father and from the looks of it the wound had been pretty bad, likely split open from a blunt object. But that was just her observation and it seemed to be bothering the Avengers with Pietro for once not talking.
"You know Tony Pietro might just want to have time alone, I mean clearing his thoughts might be best right now."Hope spoke up before she stood and came over to join the older man looking down at the city. Indeed they looked like ants and right now Hope could sense a handful of mutants among the population within 200 feet of the place but she didn't see any need to use their abilities. "Sometimes people need space and if they want to confide in you and others they will, or maybe someone they trust more than even friends."She continued before glancing at the millionaire thoughtfully. "He'll come around Tony, just give it time."

"It's probably the best at this rate, Hope. I didn't exactly have the greatest terms on my own father so I can understand Quicksilver's position. It's rare for him not to talk which has had everyone at least worried for him. I'm sure he just wants some rest now and to recover from his ordeal. Not everyone has a healing factor." Tony said knowing it was true on what he said. His own life was similar to Pietro's in a way, minus the father who wants to become the most feared mutant on the planet. But never once did he give Tony acknowledgement in the past as far as he knew. He was ignored in some part, even when he did great things his father never mentioned anything. He later learned after his father did pass away he loved him but it had only been shown through a recording that had been taped long ago. He also knew that if one Avenger was down it affected the entire team, they were supposed to be working together and each one of them had a giant bond, probably one of friendship or even of relatives. Whatever the case was, Magneto put a large dent in the team's moral as he was upset with Quicksilver.
“I can tell you one thing Hope. I’ve seen Quicksilver in worse condition than this so I’m sure he’ll pull through. We just have to give him some time, like you said.” Tony agreed as he spoke with the young girl. He reminded of someone that he hadn’t seen in a long time. Since he had worked with Xavier as an alliance force for some time, he had come to know most of the X-Men as excellent heroes. And the name certainly rang a bell too as he remembered one person on the team that was with the X-Men. Tony had all sorts of theories on who she could be, The one that he was certain on was that she is a relative of Scott Summer’s from the X-Men but that was just about it.
“Unfortunately it’d be unwise for myself to try and go after Magneto, for what he did to Quicksilver. One wave of his hand and he’d kill me since I have shrapnel still lodged in my heart. He could clog up an artery so easily that it’d be just enough…” He trailed off not wanting to think about what would happen that way. Tony had faced the fear of death before many times. And asking for a fight against Magneto was a sentence towards death for him. It was best that he did not take it. Not to mention it would also cause more tension between the Brotherhood and Avengers, as if they didn’t have enough to worry about like that said team and even the Dark Avengers were starting to become an issue. It was something worth noting, that was for sure

"Unfortunately I can't exactly say I know how you two feel Tony, I've always been on good terms with my adoptive father. He was the one that watched over me, took care of me since I was an infant, taught me all I know,he was the only family I had at the time. Him and his second wife before she was killed that is." Hope said with sympathy, but couldn't exactly share what they had. The only thing that had been difficult for her was the fact Cable had teleported her away and never told her if he would return. There was just no way of knowing if he was truly alive or had died in those final moments a year ago. It just pained the young red head every day but in other's eyes Hope might just seem to be handling herself well for a teenager.
Though there was some obvious sadness as she spoke of her adoptive family and it might seem she would drop her tough girl facade. Hope however, was quick to shake her head and push those negative thoughts aside. She just wouldn't, and couldn't, allow herself to break down like this especially in front of one of the veteran Avengers. She had long since looked strong since she got there and breaking down would only make her seem weak in her mind. It just couldn't happen.
But she thought of what Tony said and glanced at him then, "Maybe I could talk to him Tony. Mean he may not like humans or dislike them but he might be more open to discussing what happened with a mutant like me. Besides I could counter his powers if need be...maybe even have them on a far stronger scale." Hope suggested, although there seemed a hint of uncertainty towards the end. Even though her powers could make all others twice as strong she could easily lose that control. Doing so wouldn't be a good thing.

"if anything he sounds like he was a good man Hope. He was trying to do everything he could to help you thrive and live in the world to the best of his ability." Tony said. He was indeed aware that there were different types of fathers out there. Each one had their own way of trying to live with their sons and daughters. Quicksilver and himself had been a good example of one type and Hope's father was of another. But in the end the three of them put their differences aside and still began to work together as a team on the Avengers. It was kind of strange how Fury managed to pull a team together and make them work. The Avengers had come around from all kinds of backgrounds and even so they still have the same ideals in mind to help out. Tony did notice the sadness in Hope's voice but she seemed like she wasn't interested on talking about it.
So he put that aside as he listened to what she had to say about Quicksilver's current situation. It was true that Quicksilver had not liked humans due to being a part of the Brotherhood. It was probably still there on him that he couldn't trust every human that came up to him that easily, but Tony made it aware to the Maximoff twins that they could come to any of the Avengers if or when they needed help. But this time it looked like they might have to try some other way to get to the Maximoff sibling. "I think that might be a good idea Hope. I don't think Quicksilver's exactly in the best shape for another fight to happen in with another mutant. He's been resting mostly and it'd be risky if he wanted to get into another one so soon. Still it never would hurt to have a back up plan in case he decided to attack out of anger. He does have his father's..." He trailed off realizing he might be speaking a bit much on bringing up their father's past again.
"Well you know what I mean." He added as he fell silent after that. He seemed to be dropping the subject about fathers since it seemed to be a rather touchy subject for them. It was best to avoid it at this rate. "If you want to speak to him, he's in the medical bay. The medics told him to stay there for a couple of days so you'll have a chance to talk to him."

Hope nodded about the fact of he said about her father. True he had been difficult and a little gruff but he still in her eyes had been a good man and her role model, the one who made her today. Some of the Avengers had even remarked she seemed somewhat like Black Widow with the fact she mostly relied on her combat and firearms training to help her in situations and on missions with the Avengers. She sometimes though did pull on any powers that might be in the range of her 200 feet to sense mutants, but sometimes they were in areas where she could not reach. But at the same time she could understand what Tony meant when it came to Quicksilver. They never could choose their fathers that they were born with and some were better than others or worse.
One thing for sure though she was glad he was dropping the topic, as it was a sore topic for not only Quicksilver but for Tony and her as well. "I think I'll let him have the company he's currently getting right now. The girl he seems to have gotten close to arrived just a few minutes ago." Hope said, having sense Carol arrived and after a few minutes was coming into the building. Briefly touching on this young mutant she smiled as she realized she had telepathy and briefly used it to read Tony's surface thoughts and could see this bothered him quite a bit, even reminding him of his own father and she also curiously found among all this a wonder of her as well.
"You know Tony if your curious about my past I may not tell you everything but I can at least tell you some things." Hope spoke up, looking back outside the window again. "To answer some of your curiosity yes, my name is very much in relation to Scott Summers of the X-men. In fact he is my adoptive grandfather through my adoptive father." She explained to him before glancing at Tony. "But I'm surprised you haven't mentioned that I look like Jean Grey, I've gotten this remark from quite a few people in other...places. Even here." She said, not yet wanting to mention that she was a time jumper.

Tony nodded in agreement, he had heard Quicksilver talk about this mutant girl every once in awhile they seemed to be forming some sort of connection now, maybe a fondness for each other? Or was it much more than that? He had a feeling it might develop into something else, he saw it happen with some younger students in the Avengers like Francis he was already starting to think about that red headed girl named Neila. "That seems to be the best at this point." He agreed as he let her talk about herself. Tony didn't know that much about her but he had some theories. Now it was time to see if those theories were true or not.
"I thought that might have been the case. I only know a few people around here with that name." Tony said as he listened to what Hope had to say as she turned away to look out the window. "It's true I will admit you look a lot like Jean Grey she has that same read hair and maybe even her eye color as well. I know Francis also told me that he confused you for Black Widow, that's kind of ironic since he has keen eyes for his archery." Tony said wondering if he should mention something about his own family, the very fact that his parents were dead didn't mean everything. He still knew of a few Starks that were still around. And it seemed that each time he tried to meet them they usually weren't going to end well, since Tony's business usually made them jealous and filled with greed. "Believe it or not, Hope I still have some other family members around, of course they don't exactly have the greatest relationships with me due to my father's achievements of being a millionaire and them passing it onto me. One person named Morgan Stark, a cousin of mine tried to take over the business, as you can imagine I was severely annoyed with him and wanted revenge."

Hope chuckled a bit as she remembered really first meeting Francis, knowing for a fact she had to tell him she was in fact not the famous Black Widow. "He told you about that huh? It was the first time we met and actually talked, of course I accidently knocked him into the fountain on the roof during a training session so guess it'll be hard to forget a meeting like that." Hope said, amusement showing in her expression as she recalled this. "But yea, many have mistaken me for a younger Jean Grey but obviously I'm nothing like her." Least to Hope's knowledge she wasn't. The only thing the young teen could think of that they had in common was the fact of their similar appearances and her control of the Phoenix Force.
Glancing at Tony then as he explained about his own family it didn't surprise her that there might be such an issue in his family. "Well Tony the want for money and power tends to lead many down the dark path of greed and selfishness, and unfortunately we cannot always change that." She told him with a nod, guessing that couldn't have been easy for him when it was family. Though they couldn't always pick their families nor the positions they are given in life. "And the fact is we can't always choose our positions in life, sometimes we end up stuck with them...no matter how much we may not want it." Hope murmured.

"Yeah I'm sure anyone couldn't forget something like that. But I can see why people mistake you for Jean. It's that red hair." Tony said with a soft chuckle as he remembered seeing Francis' stunned look in his eyes once Tony asked him what had happened and why he was all wet. It made sense now on why Francis hadn't been so keen on telling him so quickly since Hope had managed to beat him.
"Unfortunately I have to agree with you on that one. I've had many family members fall down that path. Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I hadn't been rich or in this family at all. I'd probably just be normal." Tony said knowing it was a weird word to use around his type and as well as the Avengers. Tony nodded knowing that it was true many of the Avengers that were on the team didn't have much of a choice on things that happened in their past. But they were all here under one roof and setting their differences aside. He realized that they were both starting to feel down again as he thought of something that might help them in a distraction.
"I know this may sound a bit out of the blue Hope but I was thinking about something that might help us. I think what we need is a distraction, since so many things have been happening. Do you want to come do a training session with me in the training room? I haven't been able to see what you can do just yet, and the odds of throwing me into a fountain are slim to none down there." Tony said having to throw that one in as well. If she could best one of their best archers than Tony had to think twice before trying to strike Hope in battle. She was already starting to prove herself.

"I can imagine it wouldn't always be as luxurious as this Tony but we all are in a position for a reason, guess for the most part we just have to endure it."Hope said with a nod, knowing for a fact things weren't always the greatest in their lives but they pulled through some how. But this conversation had once again taken a depressing turn and Hope wasn't quite sure how to change it up until Tony spoke up.
Glancing at him she considering this for a bit, wondering if she should really train with Tony but often worried about the fact of revealing what she really was. But after a bit she finally nodded, "Sure I don't see why not Tony mean doesn't seem we're really getting anywhere with talking. Besides suppose it might be best I show you what I can really do, well besides my mutant abilities." she said with a smile, despite having trained earlier training sounded better than having to stay there with talking about subjects that only seemed to bring them down. "I'll meet you down there in a bit."
With this said Hope headed off to go change into her training clothes and wasn't long before she was heading down to the training room pulling on the tattered cape around her neck. Though it was worn down and tattered from so much abuse, especially since it had been her father's before her, she still bore it in his memory and it always comforted her that he was always there even when he wasn't.

Tony nodded knowing it was true, if his family hadn't died, if he hadn't had the metal in his chest now he would have never become the Ironman that he is today. It was a close call towards death that he almost went through. He could have died right on the spot right there but no one would have remembered Tony as Ironman or the Gold Avenger right away after those events. But now he was going to be put down in the history books for sure, right along with the rest of the Avengers and the younger ones that would one day take their place. "Yes you're right on that one Hope." Tony said with a soft nod.
"Of course that'd be great. I'll go suit up in a piece of armor, while you get ready Hope. I'll meet you in the training room." Tony said as he watched Hope head off towards her own room to get ready. As Hope left Tony began to get ready himself as he went down into the armor vault room where most of his armor was installed. He stepped into the main center of the room where his familiar armor stood that he used the most. Very recently he had made a new paint job on it that made the armor look black and gold to the touch compared to his red and gold armor that he normally used. "Jarvis care to help me suit up?" He asked the computer as things began to start working for him as he stepped inside the armor. All the parts began to move around him and it wasn't going to be long before everything was in place.
It took a few minutes before everything was ready but it wasn't long before Tony stepped out in his Ironman suit. "Okay, next step is onto the training room." Tony said as he turned on his rocket repulsors as they glowed a deep blue. He flew out of the vault into the training room, but Hope probably beat him there by now since the armor sometimes takes a bit.

For Hope it normally didn't take her long to get ready when it came to training. She had grabbed the dark green jump suit and changed out of her civilian clothes to work out clothes before pulling on the suit next. With it she pulled on her boots, gloves, and then the cape before making her way over to a weapon rack she had in her room. She grabbed a few of the hand guns and put them in two holsters at her side while putting a sword across her shoulder. Of course she also had a few daggers hidden away since it was something she was to, it had become second nature to always have something up her sleeve just in case. Even in training.
Finally though she began heading down to the training room, using the elevator and waiting patiently as it took her down to the lower floors. After a few minutes she was finally heading towards the training room and reaching there just shortly before Tony did and stepped inside. Walking over to the observation window she wondered what kind of training they would do either target practice, a course of some kind, or likely a simulation. Who knew, they always had some kind of way to train.
But she looked back when hearing Tony coming in, raising her eye brows slightly when seeing his suit. "Nice paint job Tony, seems red isn't your only color after all."She said, half teasing.

Tony lifted his mask up as it showed his face and it was clear he was grinning at the thought. True it did make him look different in the new paint job that he had given to at least one of his suits. "Thanks Hope. And really? Since when was there a rule in anyone's book saying that Tony Stark couldn't have a new paint job? The red was kind of getting tiring if you ask me. I like the black and gold scheme. Besides maybe some of our villain friends might not recognize me anymore." Tony said as he came over to one of the control panels and began to work on a hologram screen to decide on what kind of course they were doing. Unlike some of the other Avengers who didn't seem to have much humor the Hawkeye's included it seemed like Tony was not afraid to try and crack a joke around the other Avengers when it seemed necessary.
"I know we're not like the X-Men with their Danger Room but we have an interesting training room as well. But since I offered this training session you can have the ability to put in whatever kind of scenario or type of training you like Hope." Tony said as he continued to put in some codes showing who was in for the training session but he was leaving most of it open for Hope to choose from.

"Hey, I never said there was any rule book but it has become your signature color." Hope said with a slight laugh as she looked at him, "But your right a little change never hurts once in a while. Not that your already familiar with that yourself Stark, you seem to be changing those suits all the time." She said, still teasing and at least glad he was one of the few Avengers who seemed to have a sense of humor. Not many of them seemed to have it, especially the likes of the Hawkeyes which she learned fast unless you actually showed it to them. But they seemed to really live up to being the grumpy archers they had become known to be these days, but oh well no really changing them.
Turning to the console Hope watched as he began to bring up various holograms and scenarios they could do, some bringing back memories to her days of traveling with her adoptive father. After a bit of thinking she reached over and pressed a button to move back a few scenes to a more war-torn like environment that could hold anything. "How about something I'm use to Tony, a war torn environment...you never know what you might encounter and such a situation and it might prove to be rather useful. Mean we are normally going on a mission literally blind sometimes, so being prepared to expect the unexpected might help us keep on our toes."She told him, wondering if he would want to try it.

"Yeah that's true, I mean that's like Cap without his red, blue, and white. I guess it was just time for a change for me. But this hopefully won't sound like a shocker but I actually was inspired of the gold and red color scheme off a car that I own and had been working on my first round of suits." Tony said noticing that their conversation was getting quiet friendly at this point. He didn't think Hope was a bad person at all at this rate, her parent, or parents raised her to be a good woman and of course when she needed to be a fierce one too. Good thing Tony wasn't on the Dark Avengers, he just didn't see himself being one. They were all the exact opposites of him and of what he never wanted to become. as he listened to what Hope had to say for the type of simulation that she wanted he nodded,
"Very well then, one war room coming up." He said as he began to type in the codes for it as a screen came up once more. Tony placed a hand on it to show that he was activating it. Soon the room started to change as the hologram was being worked on. The hologram was starting to create details that even Tony didn't recognize in the room as the ravaged lands started to come in place. The ground had been burned so many times that there was no grass under their feet, just dirt that had been tinged with a brownish red color looking like a battle just had been fought here. Even on occasions there was a scent of blood that could be noticed in the air as they could smell it. Buildings had been burned almost to the point of collapsing, and so far it looked like there wasn't a body to be found that was nearby, it looked like the place had been cleared out before a fight could be fought or the dead ones had been removed. Either way it was a creepy sight.
"Even for a hologram this place could give anyone the creeps." Tony said as he looked around. it was clear so much detail and effort had been placed into this one. Finally after a bit he placed his mask down again after deciding that he needed it to wear for protection. You never knew when someone might try to attack them out of the blue..
