Pretty much things had been normal for the teen to be super hero as he had his usual wake up call. He sprung up out of bed as the alarm went off in his room. It was a loud one, well it had to be. Torus was a heavy sleeper and it had to be loud enough to where he heard it. Once it went of blaring for a bit he turned it of smacking the button on the one side that would turn it off. "Is it Saturday yet?" Torus asked. He dared himself to look at the calendar that was up in his room and sighed. Not even close, it was just Wednesday and he had to survive three ore days before he could do anything fun for a change. Usually he spent most nights doing homework and didn't have much of a chance to go out side, not to mention he was still kind of on bad terms with his parents due to the fact he got into trouble awhile ago and they hadn't forgiven him all that easily. It was clear Torus was still drowsy and not near awake yet. He yawned slightly and got out of bed to get changed out of his pajamas. The light had flooded into the room some time ago as it was seven am already and classes were going to start for the young hero within an hour. Luckily he'd be done at a decent time on Wednesday and wouldn't be up all night like most nights, he had a couple hours of a break before he would have to worry about doing homework at night.
Once he got dressed he began to head down towards the rest of the areas where everyone was still sleeping, some you could tell were awake since their doors were open or their lights were on. Some of the members of the Future Foundation were already in class. Though someone spoke up, but it wasn't a human voice, it was a robotic one. It was the same kind of computer that Tony Stark used but it was made by another very intelligent scientist known as Reed Richards, or his uncle as he liked to call him. Mr. Fantastic built the robot to perform many various feats such as keeping up with constant check ins with the rest of the building, "Um Mr. Storm I don't mean to bother you but we are expecting a new student any day now, someone needs to see that she is welcomed to the building." Herbie said as Torus sighed.
"I hate to break it to you Herbie but I have classes all day I just can't drop them all and leave." Torus said as he waited to see what the robot had to say towards him as he waited and listened.
"Well Mr. Richards did give you the time off when she arrived, an hour away from your classes won't hurt. Does that sound like a deal?" Herbie asked as he spoke back towards Torus as this seemed to make him feel a lot better, as he looked back up towards the robot.
"Yeah that's fine with me." Torus said with a chuckle. "I'd rather do anything that does NOT include classes for a change." Torus said as he continued his way down towards the elevators. It looked like today was not going to be as regular as he thought. The young teen might be in for a surprise for all he knew. First thing first, was he was going to get breakfast since his stomach was growling at him. Luckily he didn't need a microwave or anything like that since he could just heat it up with his fire powers.

Violet’s eyes peered up at the building, which bared the familiar ‘4’ on top and being the famous Fantastic Four building now known as the Future Foundation. Not many people seemed to choose to be part of the team while others were still young and often had to train and wait to become part of the team from time to time. And it seemed from what Violet had heard the place had somewhat become a place the younger members could take classes while they also trained with their skills, whether they had powers or not. So far, it was certainly an interesting place likely no different from the Avengers or the X-men mansions.
Though she wasn’t there to admire the building or what it held inside. No, the young woman was there in order to meet the team and fully take up membership with them. It was just recently she had gotten the invite after extending a chance to try and become a member and had only recently found time in between her school and work to come see them at last. She may not be sure who she was meant to see or talk to but Violet had been looking forward to this for a few weeks now since getting the confirmation to come see them. It just had taken some time to get any free time enough now and she hoped they wouldn’t be annoyed about it. So with a deep breathe Violet began heading to the front door, stepping to the front glass doors which slid back and the young woman stepped inside and gave a quick glance around the lobby.
Well this place was well kept and decent in size. It made the young mutant woman wonder if the original members always tried to keep it in top shape like this. Possibly even help from the staff. Which in speaking of which, Violet turned as one of the receptionist spoke up, “Miss, can I help you?” Another slightly older girl asked, who Violet noticed seemed somewhat bored and could sense it, maybe even somewhat down about something. Though for now Violet didn’t draw attention to herself as she came over. “Yes, I’m here to see any of the Future Foundation members. I just found...”Though Violet soon found herself cut off quite rudely. “Then just sit down over there, one of them should be down soon.”With that said the woman went back to doing whatever it was she was doing and logging in that the Future Foundation had a visitor.
Frowning at the rudeness the young woman thought for a moment before seeing a chance, “Pardon me I need to borrow this.”She reached down as if to grab the pen near the woman’s hand but instead reached to touch the woman’s arm and though the girl began to get annoyed Violet used her empathic abilities to change the woman’s mood to a much more brighter one to which she smiled and kindly handed her the pen before telling her in a much nicer tone someone would be there shortly. Smiling inwardly to herself, Violet thanked the woman before moving to sit in one of the seats within the waiting room and began studying one of her science class books while waiting.

"The receptionist just logged in that the new member has arrived. Torus now, you must go meet her. Hurry!" Herbie said sounding rather enthusiastic about it while Torus wasn't entirely sure what to think. The young hero never met the girl and didn't know what to expect. He had to admit he was curious to see what this new member had to do, the last time they brought someone in it had been Vivian and Torus came to like the albino girl rather quickly. But he hadn't seen the girl in some time and he hoped she was alright. "Fine, fine, just let me get down there Herbie." Torus said as he began to head towards one of the elevators to bring him down in it. Soon he stepped inside and the doors closed as he began to wait for the numbers to change. The top four floors were reserved for the Future Foundation and their members, it was also where Torus' own room was on one of the floors where he slept and did his homework.
It didn't take long for the elevator to come to a halt as the doors announced it with a dinging noise as it reached the main floor of the building. As he got down to the main floor it seemed no busier than normal on most days. The receptionist however looked different to him than normal as he was unsure at first about it. Maybe she was turning over a new leaf? It was hard to figure out at first but finally Torus noticed what it was, "Um okay that's totally out of place. She's never THAT happy. At least not the way I've seen her." Torus said as he came over to see what was wrong. However after being distracted with the receptionist's odd behavior, Torus noticed that there was someone new in the building that he had not seen before. As Violet did her studying the young hero turned into his fire form as he flew over to where she was sitting. Some of the workers down on the floor screamed in surprise as he did it but they had to remember that they were sharing a building with heroes. Stuff like that had to happen all the time as he merely rolled his eyes at them as he flew over to where Violet was. Once he got close enough he finally got brave enough to speak towards her.
"So are you the new hero that my dad and the others invited over? And to answer another question you might have I'm not the Human Torch. That's my dad. I'm Superstorm." Torus said as he hovered in place near her. He still seemed to be human but to some it was probably odd to see someone in flames for the first time and not to mention he wasn't getting hurt by the flames. It was just an odd combination of things going on. But Torus had been used to it since he practically had the powers as he was a child.
"But my real name is Torus you can call me either name which is fine with me." torus said though he glanced back at the receptionist still wondering why she was in a happy mood. If he wasn't that lucky for burning the place down in the past, she might have thrown him out of the building for causing such a mess. "Also what's with her? She deciding to be nice for a change? Usually she'd use a fire extinguisher on me by now." Torus asked.

Violet briefly glanced up when hearing the ding of the elevator, wondering who could possibly be coming down. And it seemed it was one of the younger members of the team though someone she was not familiar with, although the teen did resemble the man known as Johnny Storm quite a bit. He definitely had the looks and blonde hair so it didn't surprise her. Although she for now went back to looking at her book until she was addressed. Besides she didn't know if Torus was coming to see her or happened to just be coming out through the lobby to leave.
Once hearing the screams Violet this time glanced up fully and raised an eye brow when seeing Torus approaching her in a full fire form much like the Human Torch, so maybe he was related. "Well wouldn't say I'm a hero quite yet kid but suppose if I can join the team that would change. You could say I'm just a girl trying to...make a change in my life."She said to him as she merely shrugged at his answers to questions he normally might have gotten. "As for your appearance, I kinda figured you weren't Johnny Storm. For one your a little young to be him and two I think he'd be a bit more careful then lighting himself up in a lobby to where things are flammable. Which lucky for you it's not."She told him, merely smiling a bit when he pretty much confirmed he was the son of Johnny.
Standing she smiled, "Nice to meet you Torus, the name is Violet Frost."She said while closing her book,"I'd shake your hand but I don't think I want to fry my hand from your flames."She then glanced towards the receptionist which told her that this woman was usually rude to begin with. "Oh her? Just a little use of empathic abilities of mine, in fact that is only one of my abilities next to telekinesis and this..."Violet paused before her entire body became completely of an amethyst like substance, a type of organic gemstone to which she merely grinned. "So suppose you can also call me Juvela which is my codename."She explained to him before shifting back to her regular form.

"Well you've come to the right place for that if you want to become one, Ms. And yeah sometimes people confuse me for him every once in awhile." Torus said with a shrug as he looked back at Violet. He had to admit that she was pretty but no doubt older than his age, and that would be awkward for the both of them. Still he looked back at her as to what she had to say. And he also learned the young woman's name as well as it was Violet. But then he realized what she meant by still being in his fire form, "Oh yeah sorry about that, I guess I gained his recklessness as well. Let me stop the flames for a bit." Torus said as he descended down to the ground and the flames disappeared. And some of the people around him seemed to be a bit more relieved that there wasn't a flaming teenager in the building and went to resume their regular activities.
However he stopped when Violet showed her the next ability that she could use and this stunned him, he had never seen that kind of use of a power before where they were covered in crystal. Well there was the Thing but he was made out of rock. This was something different, "Woah now that is a cool power. And it's also nice to meet you Violet." Torus said as he watched her change back into her true form. He did have another set of powers on his hands but it had actually been from his mother's side for being part Skrull. As a Skrull they were all shape shifting aliens and it looked like Torus received that part as well.
"Also I do have one other power besides my fire abilities. Watch." Torus said as he shifted his body and began to turn into a medium sized German shepherd dog. Obviously to match the age of the teenager size of the dog. He seemed to be covered in a dusty black coat and long fur appeared instead of skin. Torus was a bit higher than Violet's knees at the height comparison. None the less, he wagged his tail like a normal dog would have but it was pretty fast showing how excited he seemed to be compared to earlier. He didn't seem all that excited after he got the message from Herbie that someone new was coming, but after meeting Violet the subject changed. It was nice to have someone new every once in awhile, his cousins weren't bad but still it was better to meet someone new.

"Figured it might be, I would have come earlier in the last few weeks but with school and work it's had be busy. Been looking to coming here and meeting everyone but guess I wasn't quite expecting to meet one of the younger members so early."Violet said with a nod, looking sideways when hearing the staff get a sigh of relief and chuckling softly from it. To a point it was kind of amusing as she shook her head and glanced back at him. "Good thing you weren't in the lab I was at, you would be hit with a fire extinguisher in no time. Or I might have done it myself."She said. With working in a lab one had to be careful with heat properties and the room temperature, no matter what kind of lab one was in there were many one had to be careful with.
Seeing his surprise at her transformation Violet could only assume he had never seen anyone like this before. No different from her not seeing someone go into full flames without harming someone, though she only smiled. "Well guess you see something new every day."She said to the teen, but wondered what kind of other powers he could possibly have. And that was revealed when he shape shifted to a german shepherd dog which truly surprised her this time. She had seen a few shape shifters back in Sinister's lab but she had never seen one outside of that so she was quite amazed by this.
"So you're a shape shifter as well, never expected this so pretty impressive yourself."She said with a smile, scratching him behind the ear. "Makes me wonder if you'd want your belly scratched."She joked before deciding to show Torus what she had done to the receptionist. "And this is what I meant by empathic abilities."Having her hand on his head Violet focused upon his excited emotions and seemed to mentally shift his mood to a much calmer one before removing her hand. "So, how do you feel now?"

Torus had been listening to what Violet had to say as he nodded back towards her since dogs couldn't normally talk. He also seemed to be enjoying the scratch behind the ears as his were rather large, trying to cover a complete dog ear scratching on his own would have been a bit difficult. But he felt a bit strange at first when she put her hand on his head but soon his wagging tail slowed down showing he was still happy but not as excited. He seemed to be a bit calmer than before as the excitement was gone. he realized hat she might have found a way to stop his excitement and Torus was full of energy in the day he wondered how his parents kept up with him since they were busy as well.
"That felt weird." Torus said as he shape shifted back into his human form being that he couldn't speak while he was a dog. "I mean not in a bad way it's just like you turned off me being excited and then I was not excited anymore. Maybe that made some sense?" He added as he tried to explain the way he felt. He just hoped that violet wouldn't do that on him when he was caught off guard or she did it as a trick. That wouldn't be very nice.
"But yes I am a shape shifter because of my mom. She's a skrull so being half skrull myself I guess I gained those powers from her. It's kind of hard to believe though that my dad fell for her at first, the two don't seem to have much in common but something just seemed to form between the two and my mom hasn't left his side ever since." Torus explained. "Though I'm sorry about the fire thing earlier, the excitement was probably what did it."

When Torus answered her Violet couldn't help smiling as he returned to normal, "No it makes sense. What I can do is sense one's true emotions, such as your excitement just a bit ago, and with physical contact I can implant new emotions into another person or being, even an animal, to something else. Thus your previous excitement was turned into a much calmer version of yourself." She explained to him, knowing he had to confused and in wonder of what had just occurred. "To basically put it not only am I a powerful telekinetic or able to change into a gem-like state but I am also am empath which means I can control and sense emotions of others. It kinda comes in handy at times." She explained fully, so he understood of what all she was.
Though the fact he told her that his mother was a skrull, from which she had heard in the past were a kind of shape shifting alien race she was certainly intrigued. "So your half alien, half human, such a rarity these days to have two completely different races having such compatible genes. Never know what could happen when the offspring is born and gets older..."Violet trailed off and began to realize she was going into a long banter of something Torus might not even be interested in which made her blush and smile sheepishly. "Sorry, I sometimes get so interested into a certain topic in science I just kinda start ranting on about nothing. Only reason I started saying that was because I'm a part time geneticist so this stuff is what gets me excited often."She said to him, knowing she had to learn to keep that part of herself in check.
Clearing her throat she smiled once more, "So, do you have time to give this rookie heroine a tour or do you have to head to class already?"She inquired finally, trying to change the subject.

"Oh ok." Torus said as he listened to what Violet said. "I don't think we have anyone with those kinds of powers yet. My cousins have pretty cool powers but yours is cool also. There was that one albino girl that was considering joining us but I don't know if she decided or not." Torus said as he remembered the last couple of powers that he had seen. He thought almost all the powers on the Future Foundation were incredible. They had a wide variety of powers which was a good thing in case they went up against some really bad villains.
"Yeah you could say that. My mom's a very skilled warrior from where she's from, and also a very good spy.But I still kinda find it weird, my parents are opposites in a lot of ways but they still came together to find love." Torus said as he talked with Violet explaining her heritage. After a bit he started to loose the terms that she was saying as he felt like he was talking with Reed, his uncle again about something he didn't understand. Why did Reed have to use big words half the time? That he'd never understand besides him being a doctor/scientist. "It's ok...and sorry... I just kind of got lost on what you said after the half alien part." Torus said as he heard Violet apologize about what she said.
"Yeah I can give you a tour. Herbie said that I could have some class time off when you arrived so I can show you around. Pretty much we have the top floors to ourself to when it comes to the Baxter building, follow me." Torus said as he shape shifted bac down into his German shepherd form again as he began to head towards the elevator. He pressed the button that told the elevator to go up with his nose as he waited patiently for Violet to come. Of course who knew how long that patience would last since Violet calmed him down.

"I don't think I've met her yet myself Torus."Violet told him, wondering who the other girl was that supposedly was joining them. It'd be interesting to see all the variety of powers as she was aware the original Fantastic Four were mutates, their human genes having been altered by radiation and it seemed their children inherited their powers. So, in a sense that had evolved more than just their own genes but their entire body's genetic make up that could pass on powers to their children as well. So it was quite fascinating how all that played out.
Hearing though that he ended up getting lost the rest of the way Violet chuckled, having had that happen from time to time with some of her fellow students. "That's alright, you wouldn't be the first person that happened to who I've come across when it came to genetics. Guess for me science is quite the broad subject to learn but I've always preferred minerals, gems especially, and genetics among them all. So I tend to get into the subject quite a bit."She said with a smile, but seemed quite awed at hearing the fact Torus' mother, who was an alien, seemed quite adept spy. But with the Skrulls rumored shapeshifting abilities and the fact Torus demonstrated them she could only nod. "Well, considering the shapeshifting abilities shapeshifters do tend to be excellent spies. Mean if you've heard about the famed Brotherhood member Mystique she is a shape shifting mutant and has gain quite the reputation to change her own molecular structure to disguise herself as anyone else, which my guess is the same for you and other Skrulls like your mother." Once again Violet briefly went into the subject but not as long this time.
Quickly clearing her throat she finally followed the now German Shepherd Torus into the elevator, watching as he pressed the button with his nose. It was difficult not to want to laugh at the sight but she held it back and smiled, waiting for the elevator to take them up.

Once the elevator opened with a soft ding to announce the arrival, some people stepped out of it as Torus waited it for be clear. Once the coast was clear he stepped in and pressed the button to go up to the top four floors. But he pressed his nose on the button that held the door open for Violet. But he quickly realized that the two couldn't exactly talk in the dog form so he shape shifted back, "Oh you study rocks? That's pretty cool...I don't know much about them but I know a lot of them are so shiny." Torus said knowing it was true. It wasn't that much a surprise that he didn't know much about rocks like Violet did probably because he was so young hand still had a lot of schooling to do to get through. He was barely through the young years of middle school and reaching high school would take some time still. "I have heard of Mystique from the Brotherhood, I think on more than one occasion she fought with the Fantastic Four when she was trying to spy on them. For on one wasn't exactly the greatest idea to when it comes to some things." Torus said with a heavy shrug. It didn't sound like the greatest of battles if it asked him. Mystique was out numbered from the start and it probably wasn't the best move to take.
"Also I don't know what I want to do yet when I grow up. I know being a super hero is great and all but it's just like I want to do more than that." Torus said. He knew his father was a mechanic and he hung around his father a lot. He knew quiet a bit of cars for his young age and could probably easily aid in fixing cars if someone asked them to help. It was like he was a natural for that sort of thing. Maybe cars was what he should get into? It was so hard to decide. "I know my father has taught me a lot about cars...maybe I should try that business?" He asked wondering out loud.

"Well not exactly all rocks, I prefer to focus upon the most rare and sought after rocks of all-gemstones. Which would be like the rubies, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds, that sort of stuff. Then of course genetics is never far behind them." Violet explained, to be more specific of what she studied and the types of rocks she studied. Sure, she occasionally was called upon to help research other types of rocks but usually she kept to the research projects that involved gemstones. Genetics on the other hand, she preferred to study something along the lines of mutants and aliens, or other unique genetic factors out there like hybrids. To the young woman, both were quite fascinating to her despite her interest in genetics was partially inspired by Sinister but she wasn't going to exactly tell Torus that now, or even any of the other Future Foundation members. Not for a long time.
Though she nodded when she recalled hearing about it maybe once or twice but shook her head. "Torus, some people can be outnumbered yet they could really hold their own against quite the odds. Mystique isn't exactly someone you take lightly, I doubt she would have been easy to go up against." She told him, showing even she had such doubts the original Fantastic Four could have really gotten the famous female shapeshifter so easily. The woman had her reputation for a reason after all. For a moment though she was silent as she watched the elevator moving upwards, seeing they were heading to the top floors. Though her attention went back to Torus when he outwardly asked if he should take up a job in cars. "Well if it's something you enjoy I say go for it."She told him with a smile.

"Oh I see." Torus said knowing he had gotten a chance once or twice on a field trip at a museum to see some rare gems. Most of the time field trips like that tended to bore the young child as his interest did not lie around old artifacts or dead things that had been around for thousands of years. But when he heard her speak he nodded in response as he understood what she meant. No one should be taken lightly to when it came to fighting especially if they were Magneto's goons. Each one of them had their own strength and abilities of their own that'd make them an opponent. He learned that first hand when he was fighting Diane. It kind of lost his confidence in being a hero for awhile. He'd never be something like his dad or mom since he shared both their races. "I understand."
"Probably it might be a hobby at this point. I like tinkering with them and painting them as much as my father does. You should see how many of them that he has lined up and covered in flame decals." Torus said knowing it was true. Since Johnny's signature had been obvious with fire it seemed obvious that he'd paint his cars with them. He knew for awhile his father spent countless hours down in the basement area where most of the vehicles were kept in order to get repaired by him or redone if there was a sudden change of paint or just restoring the whole car. It wasn't long before the elevator stopped as they arrived in the final floors that belonged to the Future Foundation as Torus heard the soft dinging noise that the elevator made. As he was about to step out he saw Herbie come forward to meet the newest member, "Good Morning Ms. Frost. My name is Herbie, I'm kind of similar to Ironman's Jarvis except I monitor the entire the Future Foundation Residence." Herbie said in a robotic tone as the machine came over. It was clear that Reed had put some time into Herbie as he was always well put together and didn't seem to have a scratch on him as the Future Foundation heavily relied on him some times.

For Violet visiting a museum was interesting but she usually went to the area that most often followed along the lines of what she studied or went there to help. Identifying DNA and certain types of rocks or gems usually happened once in a while so that was another part of her job as well. But more often than not she remained at the labs and had her head usually engrossed into a project and hardly would take many breaks until she came to a point she was satisfied with. But one thing was for sure she did usually have other things she did, especially much of the skills she learned when in Sinister's control and knew it was best to keep her skills sharp despite never truly using them in many situations these days. But with becoming part of the Future Foundation that might just change.
"I'll probably have to show you some of my hobbies one of these days Torus, think they might interest you too."Violet said brightly, thinking this young teen might enjoy learning some of her own skills before she heard the elevator give that soft ding and stepped out of the elevator, being greeted by one of the robots here. Most specifically an important one from the looks of things. "It's nice to meet you Herbie, I certainly look forward to working with you too then." Violet greeted back and could see some aspects of Herbie that could relate to Jarvis, which in a way he'd be like another part of the team.

Although he had to admit that he wasn't entirely interested in museums. They had some interesting stories that were told there about the past and it was like you were taking a history class. But he didn't want to stay there all day and be bored to death. It's kind of that whole things with teenagers having well not that much interest in museums, probably when he was older he'd come to appreciate things like that. Not now of course.
"That'd be cool to see what you do Violet." Torus said as he listened to what Violet had to say. He looked up seeing Herbie as he entered the room. "Yeah Reed explained to me that he's a lot like Ironman's Jarvis. Only a lot smaller of course." Torus explained as he greeted Herbie as well. "Yes it'll be something to look forward too." Herbie said as he made a few beeping noises. It was clear Reed had been behind making the robot to help him in his work. The robot was obviously well built and complex for being so small.
