It had been awhile since Sam had stepped out into the streets of New York as it seemed that the Hellicarrier was taking its toll on him and he wanted to get out as soon as he could. The older SHIELD agent was glad to get his flight ability in as he flew through the buildings, dodging them as he could so he could not fly straight into them and shatter their glass by accident. That'd be one thing he didn't want to report back to Fury on why he left the hellicarrier so sudden without an explanation. "New York City is definitely not like Arizona. I'll have to admit it. There's too many lights and too many things to do at once." Sam said as he flew on with his nova corps uniform clear as could be as his costume. His golden and red starred helmet covered his face to hide his identidy to make sure no one knew who he was.
"What the?" He said as he came to a halt watching some sort of crime being committed. A nearby Bank's alarm was going off as there were people running out of the building. Gunshots were fired as it seemed like a robbery was taking place. "What's going on? Is everybody ok?" He asked as he flew down to some of the people who looked terrified but they recognized him as a hero after seeing him once or twice. He knew he wasn't an Avenger or an X-Men, he wasn't as popular or them. "Inside there's a robbery going on. There were at least. Maybe five people there with guns? I hope you can stop them." One of the men said as they were rushing for cover. "Fine I'll go." Nova said as he flew in leaving a blue trail behind him and went through the doors. He knew he had to call in for back up. There was no way that he could take on five guys at once. There'd be a lucky chance if he could take out most of them. "Fury I need back up, there's a robbery taking place. Anyone who hears this come to the Red Light District now!" Sam said as he spoke through his communicator back to the hellicarrier. He could only wonder who was going to answer his call or he'd be alone on this one.
"Heay you, Freeze!" A voice called out as he entered the room. They didn't seem to care either that he was a hero as at least four gunmen had their guns pointed at Nova as he was trying to call in for back up. "Looks like you get to see a bit of my bad side today." Nova said seeing that there was no way of trying to talk to these people as his hands lit up with blue rays showing the photons were at work and sent a blue blast towards them where they were holding their guns. Normally Sam would have let their lives go if they were innocent but now it was clear that they were hurting people, he had to stop them before they hurt anyone else.

The same could be said for James at the X-men mansion, finding that he needed some time away from all the training, homework, and constant worries of his powers. It was becoming stressful to the point he was tired of trying to train and almost killing his teammates, squad leader, or others around him. Of course coming right in the small of the Red Light District probably didn't go well for his favor as it was a larger place and more people at risk, but so far nothing had happened. Though perhaps his mind being at ease was helping a bit too, so maybe he was stressing over it too much instead of doing the intended thing-getting some actual relaxing instead of stressing. So for now the young man was trying his hardest to let his mind focus on other things rather then his powers and possible future.
That was until he heard the sound of an alarm going off, making James teeter on actually wanting to help or staying out of it. But as he heard gun shots his conscience won over and the young student quickly took off the last few blocks, dodging around some shocked people and beginning to hear the faint sound of sirens coming. Though as he reached the bank several people were keeping their distance but James forced himself through the crowd and rushed up the stairs leading into the bank, hearing voices in the back which made him move automatically in that direction. Though as he was arriving it seemed the fifth gun man was taking his chance to sneak up towards Nova from behind, his gun raised to fire. "I don't think so!"James said as he send an aurora blast towards the back, though only enough to blast him off his feet and the gun flying out from his hands.
Skidding to a halt near Nova, he glanced over his shoulder with surprise to see the hero, having seen and heard of this man. "Whoa...never thought I'd meet you Nova."He said with surprised but quickly made a dome around the other gun man as he tried to get up, "Though seems you need a hand."

Something shot forward in an interesting color as the hero hardly had any time to grasp what was going on. The person who had done it had a faster interpretation of what was going on than he did. "Uh?" Nova asked a bit surprised as he turned around to see what had happened. A young kid, that he hadn't exactly seen before came out and just saved him from being attacked by one of the gunmen. He had been thankful, but also had been expecting help from other Agents. Apparently they were either working on it and being slow or something else was going on back in the Hellicarrier, he'd have to use the help from the young hero from now from the looks of things. He didn't have any choice.
From the sounds of it the kid knew who he was, Sam wasn't as popular as some of the Avengers or even the X-Men but his name did flash around in the news every once in awhile as the SHIELD agents got on the news. Normally Fury tried to keep them hidden with all the media but still it managed to leak out. "Well thanks for that save. I thought I had them all but it's clear it's not the case. You seem to know who I am but I'm afraid I don't exactly know who you are. Uh hang on a sec-" He as cut off as one of the gunmen tried something funny as he started to charge up his weapon. It was not a normal gun by far as he tried to shoot it but his photons charged up on his hands. The blue light was sent forward as he struck the guy in the shoulder and disarmed him before he could try it again. "Maybe an introduction can wait or if you prefer to do a little multitasking?" He asked wondering what James would choose. But he could tell that this kid meant business. He had been trained very well even though he only saw a little bit from it.
"I do wonder what's going on with SHIELD. They never answered my call. That's very unlike them." Sam said as he showed some worry for his team. Something was probably going on there or they just lost the communication for some time. He hoped things would be restored or James and himself would have to fight two on two. He also hoped that it was the second option from the thoughts that came into his mind. If something was going on, Sam would have to report back almost instantly and his time from visiting the city would be cut short. What a bummer.

Despite seeing Sam's confusion James knew likely right now he was the only back up the agent had for the moment. It was kind of odd no other agents had responded but he had been close by and helping had seemed the right thing to do. Sure he was still young but he knew how to hold himself in such a situation, "No problem, and you can call me Boreas for now. I kinda saw the commotion and came to give you a hand since seems like you got your hands full here." James introduced himself seeing the other three gunmen preparing to fire to which by subconscious though James created another dome around himself and Nova, deflecting the energy shots with ease before he turned towards the gunmen.
"Though think we can be glad these are energy guns and not the real thing."He said, knowing the energy weapons likely could just bounce off their defenses. And it seemed for James his powers weren't going haywire again making him relax a bit as he allowed the domes to disappear but quickly blasted the gun from the one thug he saved Nova from before. That was when another blast came from behind James, his own power acting on it's own as he blasted the ceiling above the four inside causing the room to collapse and forcing the gunmen to scramble about and dodge the few pieces of hard concrete to not crush them.
James had thought too soon and was face palming himself for the sudden outburst. Why did it always happen to him at the worst times?! He'd already nearly blasted his own field leader to bits and now he had nearly put four people at risk, despite them being vile examples of humans in this world. The teen wasn't the type to try and kill someone and if it did happen he usually had to be angry or by accident. "I hate this."He muttered, clenching his fists slightly at the likely chance he could have nearly crushed even Nova.

"Alright that works." Nova said as he listened to James as he spoke. He seemed like a good kid and going up alone in some situations was a bad idea from the start. He knew SHIELD would be angry at him for not doing anything-but it wasn't entirely his fault. SHIELD hadn't responded back so they had to take some of the blame. Out of no where he realized something bad was happening as Boreas shot a beam of his powers up at the ceiling again. He couldn't get out of the way in time as Nova felt the concrete come crashing down on him, but at the last minute he had blasted through the concrete to make it less painful. He sent a blast of his photons directly at them to shatter it into a few more pieces to avoid the possibility of being killed. It seemed like a long time before Nova started to come back, his body ached with pain and he knew he had a job to do as he tried digging himself out of the rubble.
"I-I'm ok for the most part. Just sore all over. And a bit stunned. That can happen to just about anyone." Nova said as he took a few seconds to try and gain his breath back. It seemed like some of the goons had gotten out of the way and scattered. They were further back now than they were, so it gave them some room. Or they were one of the unfortunate members who got crushed under the rubble. Sam was lucky that he was not one of those people. "And it seems like it did." Sam said as he looked back seeing at least one of them had disappeared underneath the rubble.
Finally after catching his breath the SHIELD agent stood back up again after he felt better and was ready to fight again. He knew if that was going to happen again he could be very well killed by an in coming concrete slab that just had too much force. "Just I ask this once. Try to be careful, if anything aim your powers at the gun men." Sam said trying his best not to sound like a teacher or a parent. He was sure James got a lot of that as a kid and he was still learning from the looks of things.

Seeing Nova nearly crushed made James all the more guilty for the lack of control he had and before he could attempt anything the older hero seemed to have it handled. But there was obvious pain from his expression making the young mutant almost regretting to come to try and aid Nova in the first place. "I'm sorry Nova, but I didn't do that intentionally nor to be reckless. I...don't have complete control of my powers, they usually act at their own accord." James admitted, expressing his deep regret for what had just happened and almost tempted to back out of this. But still seeing some gunmen were still alive and looking ready to get revenge he knew it wouldn't be the greatest move to do and leaving Nova in the current state he was in.
Raising his hand he quickly sent out what at first seemed like a blast of aurora energy but he quickly bent this to his well and wrapped the beam around the three to ensnare them. Seeing them collapse James relaxed with a sigh before he glanced at Nova, "Not sure if you want to take this chance to get the police in here to get these goons arrested. Not sure how long I can keep that up without something else happening." He said as he knew if he sent an unintended blast already what more could happen with his abilities. And the chances was he could likely kill someone else.

"It's understandable. I had trouble with my powers when I was still learning about them. I couldn't even land properly without coming crashing down to the ground. We've all got to start somewhere and work our way up right?" Nova said seeing that he did look a bit guilty from the event that just happened. He could recall from his own past where fury had yelled at him for accidently causing trouble with his powers. It had happened many times when he was still trying to figure it out. You weren't a super hero over night.
As the men were ensnared in James' control he began to listen to what the younger hero had to say. This did seem look like a good time to call for the police to come in. They already had been out front so it wouldn't be long before they could rush in at the time and arrest the gunmen that were in the room. Luckily the damage here hadn't been so bad, Sam would have called it a win in his book even if he did come out with a few injuries of himself. "You're right. I'll be right back to go get them. I did see a few at the entrance." Sam agreed as he flew outside glowing a bright blue from his powers.
"Heay we've got the bad guys, think it's time for you to arrest them right about now!" Sam said as he caught some of the police men's attention and it wasn't long before they began to rush in to start the arresting process. There seemed to be this handful of them. Sam would have guessed that there should have been more to attempt to pull off a robbery like this, but then again who really knew? Two people could pull off a robbery when or if they knew what they were doing. Sam followed after the policemen as some back up incase something went wrong, because here they had to be ready for anything.

James nodded as he looked back at Nova, wondering how bad his control had been when he was younger. For the moment the young mutant was always worrying about the safety of those around him and was becoming more and more concerned that if he didn't gain better control he'd actually harm someone. Though when he really thought about it as Nova left to get the police he had just killed someone. Looking at the debris it began to settle in that one of the gunmen wasn't going to make it or didn't make it and that was now weighing heavily upon James' heart and conscious as he was the type to not kill a person. It wasn't in his nature and knowing his powers had caused the death of even a villain made him feel sick inside.
The sound of rushed foot steps then caught his attention and the young man quickly moved aside as the police came in and the aurora rope disappeared. Watching as the men were arrested, and even the one he had blasted, he couldn't help being quiet now as they also began to inspect the fallen pieces of roof. It wasn't exactly something James wanted to stay around for as the thought of seeing any blood even made him even more sick to his stomach. "Nova, I'm going to go. Seems everything is handled here." He said with a sigh as he turned away and began to leave, but paused when also hearing the media outside which made James groan at having to face the media and news crew since they likely were trying to get a good story.
"Why do the media always have to be around when this happens?"He muttered, but didn't could see there was really no getting around this.

"Alright I'll see you later, well maybe. SHIELD's known to keep us busy all the time." Sam said as he looked back at the young hero as he could tell there was guilt on his face. Sam could understand why. Many years ago he could barely fly with his own powers and make a successful landing. Practicing with powers took time and not only that took lots of practice. If he didn't have SHIELD's help he probably would be still lost to this day or things might have turned out differently.
"But Boraes. I was thinking maybe I could leave you with this before you go. We all make mistakes. Even as a young kid myself I made a stupid mistake of following the mercenary Deadpool around. Sure it got me a lot of trouble but I learned something from that moment and it wasn't to jump into the fray all the time. I'm sure one day you'll be a great hero one day, since we've all got to start somewhere." Sam said knowing that he was sure that he ha heard enough of him lecturing. It wasn't like him to do such of a thing before since he hardly taught others. But he was sure that Boreas heard it from other places, maybe from other adults in his life. But that wasn't his time to dive into his past. He knew that many heroes wanted to keep their identities a secret in order to protect loved ones.

"Yea, maybe some day we'll cross paths." James said as he glanced back towards Nova, though he also paused to listen to the lecture he gave. Unfortunately he didn't completely agree that the young mutant could ever be anything of a hero but more of becoming an unexpected evil. He never wanted to purposely hurt someone or kill and that was what happened here today although he did guess that it would take time to truly learn anything important of controlling his abilities. But that was true, everyone started somewhere and it just took time to build upon that.
Giving a final look at Nova he could only shrug, "Guess we'll see in the coming future Nova." He said to him before he slipped away from the front and actually saw a side door which he gingerly pushed open and inspected the outside. It was clear of police, gathering crowd, and media which meant he could escape without being bombarded with questions and inquiries from them. Sighing in relief the young mutant quickly moved outside and slipped around the back way so he could head back to the mansion, knowing now it was time to get back while he could.
