Overall - Nix is a very smart girl she she knows it, she is good in her classes and good at sports but she stinks at sticking to the rules. Unless you earn her respect, she will happily cause you hell. She is very protective however and will step in to defend anyone she thinks needs her help or is being bullied, something that comes from her abuse in her past, she never wants anyone to feel like she did as a child. She has been called brave but would never say she is herself, she will defend people or do things that would be considered brave but she wouldn't ever brag about being brave. the girl has gotten in a fair few fights on the behalf of other people though, both defending them and turning a corner and refusing to act as if she hadn't seen anything.
She loves those she is close to and would give her life to make or see them happy, and she longs to find someone who really cares about her to have a relationship. But don't get the girl wrong, she is aggressive and sharp and will be if you meet her on the wrong foot and she has a lot of thing set in her head too, wronged once and never forgotten and all that.
Now, as for this current mutant and otherworldly climate. Nix doesnt care if you are gay or bi or human or mutant or whatever, if you are nice to her and get her respect then you get treated well. All this stupid stuff about mutants being better or humans being a threat annoys her, at the end of the day, we are all human being so lets get on with it! Seriously, bring this topic up with her and she will snap at you. Tell her she is thinking wrong and humans/mutants are better and the best thing you can do it get a slap, and there are worse things she can and might do to you

Over all Appearance: Nix is a tall and well built girl, though slim since she tends does spend a lot of time climbing and running. She stands about 5'10 and has freckles over her arms and nose, with a pair of long dark scars on both her fore arms. She has long red hair that comes down to her waist that she ties away with a dark purple ribbon most of the time and bright green eyes. As for clothes, it's always the same with her. She doesnt want skirts of preety stuff, dont like that. She has managed to get herself a pair of matching purple t-shirts and black combats so she can wash one and wear one. Though only one pair of black socks and a single pair of black converse, though she knows how to re-sole them. Life in the gap isnt easy. She has a simple black jacket that she uses to keep warm in colder times but she also carried a blanket in her backpack that she wears as a cape when its gets down to it. And one last thing, she had her father's fingerless gloves.

Skills: Agility and some acrobatic skills, nothing fancy but she can flip over the edge of a building to escape capture
Powers: Nix can make shadows. She doesnt quite know how it works or why but she knows a few things, firstly, it comes from bad feelings. Like when someone feels sad or angry or isolated, she can take these feelings from them a little and they fuel her power. Kinda like giving someone a hug, they feel better for a bit and the person giving it gains something too. However, there is an issue. Nix doesnt know what she can really do with her shadows, she had tried things and some work and some dont of course. She knows she needs to use the power often as the shadows build up in her system and too many cause her to black out and lash out in a half conscious state, but if she uses her powers too much then she saps her own life enegry and it can kill her. Its a fine line she gotta tread.
Weaknesses: She doesnt feel the emotions of others, that would be useful. Her power simply draws from the negative things around her such as pain and sadness and if she was around it, death. Hence the issue with it needing to be used, too much of a bad thing can over whelm someone and with nix, it really does. A good example would be the following, to make it make sense.

Girl crying - had just been dumped - Nix passes by - Doesnt speak or anything towards said sad girl but her fingers buzz/vibrate- this is the only sign that she is taking in "shadows" and its the only way she knows something/someone isnt quite right. She cant feel or sense emotions, she cant change emotions, she merely saps the negativity

History: Nix has a twisted history. Her parent were both mutants as well but her aunt was born normal and thus kept in the family and raised as human, never knowing the her sisters abilities. Her mother was born a mutant and cast from her family while her aunt was kept and loved, her feather was a more complex person. Born to a living mother and the duplicate of his father, he was thrown in to an orphanage and raised there. His mother not able to look at him and if his father so should much as touch him, he could disappear totally. The pair met in education at the then named Xaviers school, both with bad pasts and complex powers, they seemed to bond.

Nix's mother and father ran in to a nasty end however when nix herself was 9 years old. The pair had left nix at a family friend's and as they came home they happened across some mutant hunters, unknowingly. Now of course being yourself in front of these people is s bad thing and things were said and curses were throw in anger when plans were stated and the Night's didn't ever come home. Nix was forcibly taken out of the care of Miss Amber Vilda and given to her aunt and uncle, the same aunt who didn't know about her powers.

Now things get bad. Nix was a clearly odd child and after setting her homework on purple fire in class when she was 12 and no reason being able to be given, her aunt and uncle pulled her from school and used her a personal chore slave. Nix was beaten often due to her uncles drinking habit and her aunts hatred of her sister and Nix's resemblance of her mother She grew up under-fed, weak, beaten often, and generally horribly but she refused to cave in and become hopeless. She found her abilities all become better in the dark or under the moon and she slowly hide herself away and started to work on her powers, leading nix to finally have some hope. Something she regretted quickly. She set herself a date to flee the house, she was due on September 3rd and nix was scarred on august 28th. her uncle came home drunk, she was packing her rucksack to make the trip easier but had stolen some food from the house. her uncle happen across her as she darted across the room to get back to her attic room, not a good way to go. It took only a few actions, he took the girl and held down both her arms and took a kitchen knife of each of them but she still fought back after it. Once again, he reached for her, and tried to abuse her in the worst way a young child can be and she turned with a hand and managed her build up of un-used shadows shot through his flesh like knives. Nix opened her eyes to find the man before her ripped in hundreds of places and she yelped, she grabbed her bag and ran from the house without a word

She went into the world hating those who has raised her, with bloody clothes and bandages around her arms and with not anything to her name aside a photo of her parents and her mothers purple ribbon. Nix found herself in a bad spot, she needed to steal for food and needed to find a way to make money to stay alive. She knew people would dislike her the moment the found out about her ability so she used other means to gain money, she was young and she could use the cute and innocent look to gain moment but she was also tall and growing in to her looks. This lead to plenty of people following her down and alley way only for her to stun them with her powers and to flee with whatever she could find left on them, but it didnt go un-noticed.

A mutant gang in the area, lead by a man called only by the name "The Lord" soon noticed they were losing targets. A boy by the mutant name of Paralyze soon spotted that issue, a young mutant girl taking them. Nix was found, stunned by the boys power and brought in to the gang in under a week of her abilities being seen. Nix soon grew in to her role in the group, she was the little girl who looked cute and got the cash or dressed a little more and could look up to 16-18 when she was only 14 at the time. She did well in the group, she was given a bigger area for hits after a few months and was soon depended on for a part of the funds. This earned most the right to go to the "Bets". These were underground games where mutants would battle to knock each other out, nix never found out their real names but she always wanted to go. Of course, she was never allowed because she was both too young and female.

But she was a smart one. She used her shadows to make a cloak , (and growing a forked tail that she never liked to go without from the moment on), and sneaked out of her room each Friday night and would break in to the "bets", taking part under the Mutant name of Shadow. In 6 months, she was the champion. After another year of living like this, bruises and cuts showing up and only aiding her thief like work as she could use them for pity and her training in the ring adding to her mugged abilities. The day came when she was to battle the current Champ, it turned out to be "The Lord". This man had been what she thought a father was to a child, having nothing else to base it on, the battle was mostly him cutting her back with the swords he was able to control but something snapped in nix. She remembered all the times she had been called weak or small or not good enough and her shadows erupted and she threw her "father" across the 50 meter ring, before she used what remained of her shadows to make her cloak into wings and try to get away. She didnt manage it. Her shadows made her cloak flap like wings but she was only a child, now 16, she couldn't control her powers enough to get away. She blacked out in the air and remembers falling towards a forest but know nothing more of it

She was found once again and taken in and cared for by a kind old man who taught her to read and write and helped her wounds heal, it seemed to be going great. This was until he found her with her tail out one day and it all went badly, he threw her from the house with the threat of calling the police and she simply ran, tears dripping from her eyes. She ran for what seemed hours before a house loomed in the distance, she figured no-one would ever care for her so dropped down at the door to await her fate. Here she awoke a little later with food resting at her head and a bottle of water, her life has been stealing the bare minimum she can just to live ever since.
