Ducking down behind one of the walls within the training room James was panting slightly, currently taking a moment to catch his breathe in the training course. Several training turrets, set to a low level stun feature, were turned in his direction awaiting for the motion to fire should the young man coming from his hiding. The wall was serving as a type of defense for the moment and he knew he really would have to continue the training soon.
Though the only reason James was in the training room was for the fact he managed to get some special permission to be there so he could better train with his abilities. His Aurora Generation was quite unstable still and difficult to control, training anywhere else had the young man worried for casualties or destroying the mansion and the grounds around it. He had already done that once when helping the older hero Nova, killing someone by accident. It was always a fear in James' eyes that he might harm or kill someone and he did when a beam fired off to hit the ceiling, killing one of the gunmen which always made James shudder at the thought.
The students there were trained to help humans and ensure they could create peace and harmony for mutants and humans alike, not cause true harm to humans unless necessary. In such a case they had things under control and because for the little loss of control a human had been killed, something the media likely would get wind of and would cause a great deal of concern upon the school. Something like that had been weighing heavily on the young man's shoulders, not wanting to bring more trouble for the mansion since they had more than enough not long ago with Magneto and his pupil showing their faces there. He may not have been outside when it occurred but James had heard what went down and it made him angry for hearing his own squad mate was harmed though luckily not killed in the process.
A soft sigh escaped James then, trying to shake off his negative thoughts with knowing his feelings affected his powers greatly and allowing those emotions to take over would cause some serious harm. Shaking his head slightly he finally stood quickly moved from behind the wall as the lasers began to fire, detecting his motion once again but were deflected easily by a single aurora energy wall James generated consciously before waving his hand to separate the wall into small squares before they shifted to small spheres no larger than his finger nails and blasted to small spheres towards the guns. Upon contact the constructs blew, having enough power just slightly weaker than a grenade and putting the guns out of commission making James relax briefly but not before small metallic like tendrils began to come forth from the wall making James back up slightly in surprise. Although, the course itself wasn't a high level but on a lower one than the actual X-men used but still these courses were meant to be challenging and the young mutant knew what they meant when they said expect the unexpected.
"Geez, they have all kinds of obstacles in this place."He muttered as he created a few energy disks and blasted them towards the tendrils, managing to slice down to size but there was still more to replace them. Dodging around them now the best he could the young mutant swallowed as one did finally manage to ensnare his leg, causing James to stumble and slam onto his back with a grunt and two other of the metal tendrils snaking out and wrapping around his body. "Dang it! A little harder than I expected."He muttered as he tried to break himself free.
