"Clearly not. I doubt you would have liked the first incarnation of the Avengers. Osborn was the type who gave orders and we had to obey them without question. But his favorite was going after Ironman by himself." Barney said remembering those days of the Dark Avengers all too well. He didn't even know what had happened to the older Dark Avengers, Daken and Skaar were probably still around and were doing their own things. But as for Osborn, he had probably had been an old man right now and on his death bed even. But it wasn't going to be a surprise if he gave him a visit to see if he wanted to rejoin, still there was that problem of not exactly having a leader just yet. It was open for anyone to take just yet, and they'd have to figure out who would at some point. The Avengers had a duo leadership with Tony and Cap but they only needed one. "I was thinking of dropping in on some old Dark Avengers, we could use their help at some point." Barney offered wondering if Hyacinth would say yes to that. There would be more monsters on the team, and was that just what they needed...?
"Fine I'll at least keep it off for this training session, how about that?" Barney said as he took his mask back with the hand that had his arrow in it still and put it in one of his pockets. That was a pretty neat trick that she had right there with her tail. He had to admit that. He knew keeping his mask off was going to be a hard one since he had it on almost all of his career of being a villain it wasn't exactly a full off face mask but it still did the trick in fooling people that he didn't know nor want to know.
"I didn't forget, but just think about it Hyacinth never missing once is a pretty good title to have arou-" He was cut off as he didn't really see it at all, sure he didn't think to check his feet before Hyacinth attacked him as he fell to the ground, but it wasn't over at all as he used his shoulder to roll off of to get into a better position to shoot at as he saw Hyacinth. His hands still clenched the arrow and his bow as well as he brought them close to his body, then he released the arrow straight for Hyacinth before he managed to slightly stand on his knees. He already started to feel his heart pounding, "By the way, have fun with that arrow." Barney said as the capsule would open and lodged inside was an emitter that let out a painful sound, a sonic emitter that would be very strong and causing disorientation with those with sensitive ears.

"Not likely, this Osborne would have faced a lot of rough treatment from me if he was around still. Besides, even if there were some monsters on the team before think it wouldn't have made a difference to what things are like now." Hyacinth said with a shrug, not being the kind to easily be intimidated. Though being on the DArk Avengers was the first real team she had cooperated with instead of just blowing them off. If Osborne had been in charge though there like likely would have been some friction between him when it came to his leadership. Though Barney's offer made her a little surprised as she thought for a moment before shrugging, "Suppose it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot I suppose. But doesn't seem like there might be much change, we already seem to be a dysfunctional team as it is." She said,
Though with seeing Barney's quick reflex to catch himself and basically recover her eyes widened slightly when the arrow was fired, making her growl loudly from the sonic emission. "Darn you archer!"She growled, covering her ears to try and block out the sound and only concentrating enough to raise a hand and concentrate her transparent white flames. "Try this on for size." She stated as she fired them towards the cat.

"Yeah that would probably end badly a couple of times. He had Stark's Iron Patriot armor, in a way it kind of mocked Tony with everything he had. And he knew just about everything from the man through his armor." Barney said as he spoke with Hyacinth from the days in the past. He just began to wonder though if it was a waste of time trying to ask the older members to rejoin. He had always wondered that since they had reformed. Maybe Daken would join, maybe Scarr, but he hadn't seen those fools in years. "They'll probably say no but it never hurts to try." Barney said knowing that some had gone their own ways and done their own things. But they might be surprised if one of them changed their minds about joining.
"Not only have I been trained in the style of archery, but I've also had years of combat military training. You're messing with the best of the best, by the way." Barney said as he began to make his attempt to escape the flames that were coming on towards him. It was clear that they weren't easy to dodge as he ducked almost every way he could think of. Sure he didn't have Captain America's skills, he honestly thought that had been cheeting with the type of abilities that he had managed to perform. Barney didn't have anything, no powers, no gifts, nothing special. Just keen natural abilities at his side. However he was cut off as one of the flames hit his shoulder as he winced feeling the pain and closed his eyes, thank goodness that his armor from his suit had managed to hold off most of it, but it hurt like hell still.
Still now that he thought about it, no one in the army would have cared if he was injured. That was just how bad it was for him. He had to give up the pain and keep on working in order to try and pull through. He took out another arrow from the back of his case in order to release another one at Hyacinth. This time it was more of an exploding arrow-one of Barney's favorites that had gotten him out of a lot of situations. "Not going to give up easily, just because I got burned." He said as he felt some of the pain starting to ease, he knew he'd have wounds to tend to later.

"Suppose it never hurts but I wouldn't be confident of them wanting to rejoin us Barney." Hyacinth said, not sounding quite that positive on the matter. But then again, she rarely was positive or her positive often still sounded rather negative to some people and they usually stared at her when she explained some things she said was positive. Nevertheless, she focused on their training session but merely scoffed at his boasting he had military training and was the best of the best. "Honestly Barney, military training means almost nothing to me. I've been trained in every form of combat on my own home planet which is almost equal to that of any human combatant I don't think you should write off my form of combat just yet."
The archer had definitely crossed the line now! Not in a bad way but Hyacinth knew if she wanted to take him down she had to get up close and personal just to take him down. Seeing his next arrow being readied though she quickly crouched on all fours, almost truly resembling a cat as it was then fired and she moved swiftly to avoid it as it blew where she was and moved faster than a human would ever be able to on all fours and quickly tackled Barney with seeing he was still on one knee and leaving an opening. "Which I should warn you my dear archer, close combat is where I specialize which is why..."She reached back and drew one of her tonfas and pressed a button on the side, releasing a blade that came from the side and pressing it near his neck enough to leave a small cut. "I still have plenty of tricks up my sleeve."She said with a coy grin before she drew it back.
Luckily for Barney the alien feline wasn't out to actually harm the archer...much. She though looked over when seeing the winged mutant Jacob flying towards the tower who actually paused to look at the two. "Isn't this the wrong place for personal business you two?""Jacob said with seeing their position and Hyacinth snorted, "Beat it angel boy, we're training." Jacob raised a free hand innocently, having his textbooks in another, "Just pointing out the obvious."He said simply before lowering out of sight as Hyacinth quickly moved off Barney and blushing beneath her fur.

Barney winced as he felt his body fall to the ground from Hyacinth, he had to admit if she could knock him over, imagine what she could do with the other younger villains that were on the team. And not to mention he was a big guy, not to many could easily knock him over like that. He closed one of his eyes to try and avoid it from being clawed by the blade out of the tonfa, but felt a sharp sting from the area on where she cut it. Heck she could have completely cut up his face if she wanted too. He knew a cut was going to take some time to heal, but if she was really mad with him she could have given permanent scar. He felt the warm blood of his own starting to roll down his cheek but he couldn't exactly clean it right now as she had him pinned down.
"Well you know one thing Hyacinth, I don't always have to use my bow in every situation." Barney said as he forced his foot up to kick her in the gut for a temporary distraction, once one of his hands was free he grabbed an arrow that was still in his case on his back and sent it down on the ground as it hit the roof of the building. Soon a large amount of smoke filled the area giving Barney some time. The area soon filled with a thick amount of smoke that could cloud their vision very easily.
He knew he didn't have long for his attempt to escape Hyacinth as he had to act fast, she could probably use other senses like smell and hearing from his footsteps as he went. So he climbed up the back of the elevator to distance himself from her. As he looked back he could see Jacob and saw his wings as well. But only sighed as he heard Hyacinth spoke back with him. She had pretty much given him the topic of what was going on right now. "Well you can at least be assured that Hyacinth is no longer mad at me." Barney said to Jacob, as he got the chance to wipe his face clean from where she had cut him. Soon he reached for one of his other arrows but constantly waited to see what Hyacinth would do next. He certainly felt his heart racing now, adrenaline ran through his body and his heart pounded.

With seeing Barney wince Hyacinth knew she had caught the man by surprise, now figuring he wasn't use to being knocked down so easily. But between his low position and her speed she had run at him it had been easy to get that leverage to knock the man down with ease and she could have easily done serious harm. Of course, if they were still angry with each other neither likely would have hesitated to have tried that just now when they had an open opportunity. Hyacinth did just then but forgiving Barney this was not going to be the case.
A growl escaped her though as she was kicked back and she stumbled back, being distracted enough she couldn't avoid the smoke the filled the around the area. As the smoke filled the area she felt her eyes water and her nose burn, the smoke affecting them the most making her glare into the smoke the best she could. Closing her eyes to try and stop the burning any further Hyacinth had to rely on her hearing and faintly heard Barney's footsteps making the alien woman realize he must be trying to attack from a distance one again. "Well he definitely prefers distance,"She muttered to herself before she once more settled on all fours and quickly moved through the smoke towards the right side finally finding some clear air and opening her eyes again so she could see more clearly.
"You know if you can fight in close combat why not try it? It's not difficult to see you still prefer distance Barney."She stated towards him as Hyacinth quickly sent several miniature waves of flames towards him.

"I can fight just with my bow and using no arrows either that's in case I run out of them. Barney said as he dodged most of the flames and tried his best to stay out of their path this time. He already suffered one severe burn from them and knew that a few more wouldn't be good idea. He didn't want to be sent to the hospital and they'd get suspicious on who he was. Barney was about to reach out for another bow as he saw that Hyacinth was coming over his way.
However he winced as he felt the burn from the attack earlier. Had it been much worse than he had expected. 'Come on Barney get up. You never would let Clint get away that easily with a fight. So you should do the same with Hyacinth.' Barney said trying to convince himself to stand again as he held his side that he had. Finally after he saw another fire ball coming his way as he quickly reacted to dodge the on coming blast as he went to the right to try and get out of it. He had managed to dodge it but he continued to feel the pain. He wasn't about to ask Hyacinth to stop any time soon. "It seems that one burn did more than I expected. But as promised I'm not giving up so fast and ending the training session so fast." Barney said as he stood back up after dodging the attack.
He knew for sure he was going to have to look after the wound later and tend to it. That side was going to be weak for awhile. He also didn't want to bother hyacinth about it since it was from a training session. The others would probably laugh at him for constantly going to ask her to heal her wounds. once was enough, he could handle it himself.

He was weakening, Hyacinth could see that quite clearly and her attacks were quickly wearing him down. It was something she had learned to do in the midst of battle if she could, to make her opponent tired or to get them injured and almost hardly able to stand much of a chance before she'd give the finishing blow. Of course, if this was a real fight she would have done so but this was much different and she was not aiming to kill only to show what she could do against the archer and she was beginning to think her point was clear she definitely was not lacking in skills of her own.
"Still, you favor distance over anything else. Otherwise you'd be facing me here and now." She countered towards him seeing she had a chance and quickly moved to climb up the side of the elevator, using her claws to dig through the weak metal to reach the archer. It was at that moment that Barney stood that Hyacinth was on her own feet and grabbing part of his bow and pulling him right to where they were inches from each other, "Try using cold water on it later, it should help. As for your close combat experience...if you want to gloat then I want to see you back it up Barney Barton." Hyacinth said, her tone serious and eyes narrowed and meeting his in an intimidating way but she knew he would not flinch.
"I think as the humans say, you can talk the talk but can you walk the walk?" With this said she gripped his bow tightly before twisting her body and bringing her leg up in a backwards roundhouse kick aimed for his good side.

"Fine I'll do close combat." Barney said though it was clear he didn't exactly have much of a choice. She kind of pulled him in to it as she pulled his bow where they were so close he was sure he could reach out and kiss her. That felt weird and awkward at the same time now that he thought about it so he didn't even attempt it. It was clear flirting wasn't allowed in this fight and he was already loosing. Then again he might have been able to use it to stun her temporarily. He looked back at her with his blue eyes seeing the glare but it hadn't phased him.
Finally Barney got his wits together, it looks like he would have to give up this part of the fight with his arrows as he saw the kick coming, and blocked it with his arm that she hadn't held onto. It was going to be a lot better if his hand got hurt than his sides, one was already wounded from where she had burned him. At the rate he was going he was probably going to have to take tomorrow off to rest for a good chunk of the day. "Fine you asked for it." Barney said as he quickly came forward as he yanked his bow free from Hyacinth's grip and sent one of his own kick in her direction.

Grinning when hearing his words Hyacinth knew she won that argument, finally getting the chance to see Barney really fight in close combat. She wanted to see him back up his words of earlier and see if he really was as good as he claimed so she wasn't about to let him off the hook. As he yanked the bow away the feline alien released her hold and prepared herself for his attack which was a kick that was aimed towards her that Hyacinth quickly caught in her hands. There she gripping his foot tightly with one hand while shifting her other up to strike him with an open palm strike that was aimed for his chest.

Barney eyed Hyacinth as he watched her take his foot and hold it in place so he could not strike. He sill had his hands open right? Well he could use those as he came swinging his bow down and used it to block Hyacinth's punch. Sure he wasn't allowed to use his arrows anymore, but he had also learned how to use his bow in combat. With his free hand that he still had Barney came down with his own punch, trying to do his best to try and not harm his injured side that Hyacinth had burned earlier. He knew if he moved it in one wrong direction that would have meant the end of the fight for the two of them. And hopefully no a trip to the hospital but he imagined that wouldn't happen.

Least he still was using close combat. That's all Hyacinth wanted to see, so she didn't mind that her palm strike was blocked but she quickly had to bring her own arm up to block the punch. Though the strike sent a shock through her arm since Barney could still easily have overpowered her. Where she outmatched him in terms of speed, flexibility, and agility Barney still made up for with his own agility and considerable strength, making him a tough opponent either way. That was one drawback for Hyacinth. "Not bad,"She said with a grin, once again showing her teeth and even her long canines but it wasn't meant to be a threat she just couldn't help it when she grinned or smiled broadly, it just happened since well...she was a cat.
But she wasn't done with Barney yet. She jumped back just enough to lung forward and tackle the archer again, this time knocking him off his feet with all her might so he could land on his back but more towards his none injured side, easily seeing he was still in pain. Though what Hyacinth didn't calculate was her own power behind the lung, her legs being a bit powerful for high jumps and she accidently sent her own body a bit forward too much when they landed on the ground this time accidently causing their lips to meet in a kiss. Shock showed clearly in Hyacinth's face, so much so she was frozen at first before she quickly pulled away and looked away in embarrassment, "Barney I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for that to happen!"She said, obviously flustered for once in her life.

Barney had always been aware of his strength in the army he had made use of it so many times he couldn't count it on all of his fingers as he looked back at Hyacinth. She seemed to be impressed with his work as she flashed him a grin. Wait was that a cunning look in her eyes? Barney could only hold his ground in order to see what was going to happen next. He braced himself as he saw her coming forward, lunging at him again as the two fell onto the ground on his back, luckily his wounded side did not hurt that much as he was stunned at what would happen next.
When Barney opened his eyes he found Hyacinth on top of him and their lips were together forming a kiss. As short as it was...he liked it. He hadn't had a girlfriend in such a long time it seemed like he had forgotten how that feeling had felt towards someone that you cared about it. But as quickly as it came it ended as Hyacinth turned away. Barney had been unaware that his bow had fallen to another side of the roof but it had not gone over the edge. He did not get mad at Hyacinth for happening, he knew it was an accident as he put a hand on her shoulder, "It's alright Hyacinth. I could tell it was a mistake. But to be honest that felt...good." Barney said as he tried to think of the right words to say that hopefully wouldn't get her mad.

Hyacinth was still quite flustered with what had just happened. Never in her life had she really been in love with anyone or truly gotten close enough she's kiss them. And this had been the closest she had to a first kiss than anything, though it didn't seem Barney was mad only surprised as she was at what had happened. Glancing back at the archer as she listened to him, she could have sworn if she was a human herself he would have seen she was blushing for what had occurred. "Still, I didn't mean for that to happen. I guess I miscalculated the power behind the lunge so it just sort of happened." She explained. But despite how embarrassed she was the alien feline couldn't help finding that Barney was right, the kiss had been nice and certainly different yet it wasn't bad. In a nutshell, it was quite a pleasant experience despite the briefness of the contact. "And I guess your right, it felt nice. Though I'll be honest that was really my first kiss when you look at things." She admitted, rubbing the back of her neck.
And the more she thought about it the more Hyacinth realized that a lot of what she felt around Barney was still new and foreign to her, a first time for everything just about. When one took away the kindness, affection, joy, and caring in anyone's life such emotions were literally alien and it was ironic considering on this planet Hyacinth was an alien. But now the alien cat woman seemed to frown as she now wondered if some of the things her parents taught her was wrong.

"Well to be honest Hyacinth I guess we're both on the same page. I was never really liked by any of the girls that were out there. They gave me one look or ignored me completely. I guess I gave up after awhile since there didn't seem to be anyone out there...Then you came along." Barney said as he looked at her for a bit seeing her rub her neck gently. He looked at Hyacinth as he thought through things over as silence fell once again on the archer. "Well Hyacinth I will admit you are pretty looking. And your fur is soft." Barney said as he stood back up completely back to his full height from the ground since he had been on his knees for most of the time after Hyacinth let him go. He looked around realizing he was missing something, where on earth did his bow land after he let go of it.
"Aw man where'd that bow of mine go? I can't exactly replace it that easily it's one of a kind and custom fit for me only." Barney said as he began to look around the area but didn't leave Hyacinth's side in case she didn't want him to leave. He used his eyes to search for it but hadn't found it at all. Had he accidently dropped it off the edge of the roof by accident when she kissed him. "I'm sorry Hyacinth but loosing my bow is probably like loosing your gun weapons to you. I kind of need it back."
