It was one of those nights, dreary and damp out. And on occasions a clap of thunder, normally Sam would have avoided a thunderstorm since he was pretty much going to get into trouble if he flew up so high. But it looks like he had no choice at this point as SHIELD had sent him on a mission. And boy were they not kidding about this one. He was already soaked to the bone from the rain from flying over but be could not complain, right? There were worse thing that had happened to the older hero as he thought about it. As Nova continued to fly across the streets to see what was going on the hero could see a path of destruction that had been lead out by the monster that had caused it. No doubt in his mind it had caused a great amount of damage, and that required a lot of strength. There were numerous monsters in his head that could of done this, but he had to narrow it down to one. And it wasn't long before he got his answer on who it was. "Puny SHIELD agent is here to save the day? I don't think so!" A voice called out as Sam stiffened hearing the voice, he had heard it once or twice on his battles to help keep the world safe.
Only one name came to mind as he recognized it, it was Abomination.
"Shouldn't you, I don't know be bathing in a swamp right now? I have better things to do than sit back and beat the crud out of you." Sam said as he kept his composure, the last thing he wanted to do was to show Abomination any fear. Yet he could feel his heart pulse racing now in his chest. He knew this battle between human and monster was not going to end well. Someone was going to get bloody. As he recalled it, the last encounter he had done as a hero was not long ago, a bank robbery had been thwarted thanks to his efforts and as well as that young hero that he had not really known so well. His name had escaped him at the moment, but he wondered what had happened to that kid since he last saw him. Had he been training with his powers? Had he just chosen to hide away and see that was the end of his career as a hero? Sam hoped it hadn't been the second choice, heroes always stay as heroes, and that is it.
"I could say the same to you." The monster said as he began to rip a piece of the building apart right beside him as he chucked a piece of the metal straight at Sam. He only had seconds to react as he flew out of the way in an attempt to dodge the on coming chunk of brick and whatever else it was. But it was clear that the building was already becoming weak and unstable. He had to figure out how to get the people out safely without it collapsing on him. "Oh boy. As if my day didn't get any worse." Sam said as he flew down to see if he could aid the humans in their attempt to have fun. Well they weren't having fun now, all thanks to mister Abomination. As Sam flew over to aid the humans in their escape route he also decided to call SHIELD in for back up, he knew he couldn't do it alone. "Calling all SHIELD impersonal, this is Agent Alexander aka Nova speaking. I need help in the Red Light District, calling a request for back up. Abomination has made an appearance and is already destroying the place." Sam said over his communications device.
However as he had his communications device with SHIELD on at the same time he felt horrible coughs coming from his throat as he tried to hold it back but it was not going very well. This was a really bad day in his mind. Sam was already starting to feel sick now for staying out too long in the rain. "Man and a bad time for a cold too. Sorry about that." He apologized to who ever had been on the other side. This meant he would probably receive less time out on the field if the cold was a really bad one. The others would want him to stay and recover while he was on the hellicarrier.

Davyn didn't care that it was raining, he was glad to be out of the Helicarrier. Being out in the city was a place that he wanted to be at. Course he would be even happier if it went without incident. But he didn't get his hopes up, there wasn't anyway he could be that lucky. The sound of thunder did catch him by surprise, however he was fine with it. It was normal for when rain was falling, however a boom sounded off that didn't sound like thunder.
When the communication in his ear went off, he almost ripped it out. He had forgotten about having the device in his ear until now. SHIELD had given it to him in order to keep an eye on him, in a way it was a good idea for him to have it. However in this case? It wasn't.
Should he go? Davyn didn't activate the device to allow him to talk to Sam, but he did recognize the voice. Hearing Sam cough though, that made him activate the device.
"You shouldn't be in the field with a cough like that." Davyn said through the communicator.
Davyn was trying to find just where in the Red Light District Sam was in. Granted, he most likely wouldn't be able to help much. But he could at least try right?

What was he thinking? Taking on Abomination on his own? He was going to get yelled at by Fury when he was done here and got out of the dangerous area. And on top of that, what Davyn had said was right, he shouldn't be out there with a cold. Not that he had much of a choice, the SHIELD agents had sent him out on a patrol and it started to rain right in the beginning and hadn't stopped. For now Sam would help focus on getting some of the humans out of the cross fire of Abomination and he hoped that someone else would notice the presence of the monster around. There had to be some other heroes out to night, right?
The rain continued to pour down as Sam struggled to help get the other humans out in time and also talking with Davyn. It was like he couldn't handle all the multitasking like he used to when he was healthy. He blamed the illness that had over come him, why couldn't his helmet come with a healing factor also? That would have been nice. But it was clear he'd have to be just like everyone else and visit a medical bay that the hellicarrier for awhile. The doctor would probably give him something to help with his cold then tell him to stay bed ridden for a few days until he recovered. It's usually what happened.
"Yeah you're right." Sam paused as he let out a sneeze. "Sorry. Once this problem is dealt with I think I'm spending a couple of hours in the medical bay." Sam said knowing he'd probably deserve it after this. He was also glad that there had been someone on the other end so he could get some help. For once, SHIELD's devices were working.
Once Davyn came closer, Sam recognized the other agent from where he was as he put out his glove hand forward to motion for him, obviously to get his attention. "I think our best bet is trying to get these people out of harms way. None of us can really take on Abomination ourselves or we can wait until back up arrives." Sam said feeling real bad that there wasn't much they could do. Maybe they'd get lucky and another professional hero would show up on the scene who knew how to confront Abomination. "Well I could try to alert one of the Avengers. Someone there has to know about this green ugly guy wandering around New York City eventually." Sam said wondering if it was going to be a good idea. Well it was better than nothing.

"Let's hope you only go there with a small cold and nothing else." Davyn replied.
Davyn was trying to be hopeful, that nothing bad would happen. Seeing Sam wave to him, Davyn quickly ran over to him. Only two options. Wait for back up or have both of them try and get people to safety. Davyn knew that it wasn't wise to not have an eye on Abomination and calling in the Avengers would be wise.
"I'll try to get people out of the way, but I think it be best if someone kept a eye on Abomination." Davyn suggested. "Just to see where he's going and not confronting him until help arrives. I think you would be best for that cause you can fly and keep watch from a distance. Plus you'd be able to try to come in contact with one of the Avengers as well."
Davyn paused as he looked around. The rain was pouring down and thus it would interfere with visibility. Well...now he wasn't so fine with it raining. Turning his gaze back to Sam, he had a bit of a nervous look.
"Does...does that sound like a reasonable idea?" Davyn asked. "I'm still new to all of this so...I wasn't sure on what to suggest."

"I hope so." Sam agreed hoping that it was nothing more than just a cold. If it was something bad then he'd be taken off for a few weeks and at most months to where he couldn't perform his full potential for SHIELD. Which to anyone was a real bummer, especially in his opinion.
Sam nodded back to Davyn as he suggested on what to do with abomination. Neither one of them could fight Abomination on their own, Sam knew that for sure. Someone else was going to have to take them on. Obviously they'd need one of those big time Avengers or the X-Men to help them. "That sounds fine with me. I'll keep my distance with him obviously. I don't want anything to be thrown at me. And if you want to talk back and forth we can speak with the communication that SHIELD gave us. Well..." He paused again as he sneezed once more but did it in a direction where it wouldn't hit Davyn. "Sorry. I'll be going now." Sam said as his body glowed a bright blue to show that his powers were working as he started to ascend into the air.
Sam started to feel his heart race, as it had always done when he normally fought villains. But this was more of a nervousness since he hadn't really come across the problem that involved a giant monster before. But he had to ignore the nervousness and keep going. He had to try as hard as he could to help Davyn and the citizens in New York. He knew one thing, right after this he was going to the medical bay whether or not he wanted too.

Davyn was glad that his suggestion didn't seem too bad to Sam. After all, the man agreed to the idea. So hopefully things would go well. Davyn nodded in response to the talking back and forth through the communicator.
"It's okay." Davyn said in response to Sam apologizing and with that, the two split up.
Davyn could feel his heart beat a bit faster, he was nervous. This was in a way, his first mission. Though...Davyn wasn't sure if he should be here. Yeah he wasn't in the fight and pretty much ground control. But was it wise? The Demon Dog would just make things worse, hence why Davyn was trying to keep away from where the danger was in a sense. Would Fury be fine with that? Probably not.
"So, any idea on where he's headed?" Davyn asked through the communicator.

Davyn asked a question as Sam got up higher from an aerial shot to see where the monster was going. So far Abomination had made a path that lead down several city stre"Not at the moment. He just doesn't seem to really care what he is destroying." Sam said as he watched from above from the safety that he was in. As Sam paused to see where he was going once more it looked like the monster was lifting something up once again like he was ready to throw it at one of the citizens.
He didn't throw it at anyone particular but they were at least smart enough to get out of the way and avoid the on coming hit. Then Abomination did something Sam did not expect. The monster was going down into the sewers! "Ok now I know a bit better on an idea of where he's going. He's just went down in the sewer. I'm going to follow if you want to come." He offered Davyn seeing that there weren't too many things to worry about in human lives. But he only wondered what was down in the sewer of what a monster wanted. Besides the stink and the stench that was down there. It was not exactly a place that he wanted to be in at the moment.

"So he's just doing what he wants to." Davyn replied. "Lovely."
Why was it something that had a great deal of power sometimes just...caused so much trouble or use the power wrong? Oh well. No use dwelling on that. Davyn wasn't exactly in control of his....'power'. But he was still at fault for the damage done. When Sam told him where Abomination was heading, it confused him.
"What would anyone want that was in the sewer?" Davyn asked.
Should he go? It wouldn't be wise for Sam to go alone, even though Sam was a experienced member of SHIELD. Letting a sigh go, he activated the communicator again.
"Alright...so where's the man hole he went in?" Davyn added as he looked around for a man hole.

Sam knew himself it wasn't wise to go down and travel there alone all by himself. It was dangerous just even thinking about it. So he was in question about what to do next. It was true on what Davyn said about him though he was going in a place that neither one of them was fond of. "Only heaven knows what he wants down there, Davyn. The sewer is a secluded place where most humans don't want to go down. So if you want to stay out of sight that's the best place for it." Sam said trying to think about it himself on why he was down there. For all he knew, he could be walking right in to a trap and that'd be bad for the both of them so they had to tread carefully.
"I can signal for you on the street with my light that I make from the powers that I have. It's pretty bright and easily noticeable on these streets." Sam suggested as the rain fell and he felt it. At least down there he didn't have to worry about that. There were other things to worry about that were far more troubling than the water. He hadn't been that bothered by it until his cold came in. And so with that Sam started to use his powers as he sent a blast of photons into the air, he made sure they were as bright as he could get them on a single blow. It acted like a flare almost and he hoped that Davyn could see it.

"Very secluded plus it's most likely a maze down there." Davyn started. "Okay, I'm sure I won't miss your signal."
Dark, damp, and foul smelling was what a sewer was. Though....you never knew where the maze of tunnels would lead you. It could lead you to a surprising place Davyn was going to get his hopes up on that. Hopefully Abomination was the only problem down there.
Seeing the light from the photons blast, Davyn took off in the direction he saw them from. After a few moments, he found Sam and he looked around.
"Alright, hopefully there's nothing worse down there besides Abomination." Davyn said.

It wasn't long before Davyn arrived after he set off the photon blast. It was one of his most useful weapons from what he had in his powers from the helmet he had. Sam was relieved now that he wouldn't have to do this alone in going down in the sewers. It was a maze, he'd get lost and they probably couldn't get much contact with the other shield members either. It was a death trap.
"I hope your words are right." Sam agreed as he looked back at Davyn. "Well here goes nothing." Sam added as he flew down in before Davyn figuring that he would take the first attempt to go down there. There was a ramp that lead down to the damp and musty walk ways that hadn't been touched in some time. Probably for repairs but that was it. New York may look pretty on the outside, but deep within it was nasty. "So far it's just dark and damp. no sign of our monster lizard anywhere." Sam said as he gave the ok for Davyn to come down. Abomination was probably further up ahead at the rate that they were going, he had a chance to catch up.
The smell was no doubt the one thing that he wasn't fond of down here. It was a smell that he could not describe, just about every stench that you could think of was down here. And it was all clashed into one. "I'm sure we'll catch up with him soon though." Sam added hoping that they could take care of this fast. This had to be over at some point soon right?

"So do I." Davyn muttered to himself.
Before he headed down, he took a deep breath and exhaled. City air wasn't the best but he preferred the smell of rain over whatever smell lurked in the sewer most likely. And thus, he headed down the ramp and into the sewer with the okay from Sam. However he almost gagged when the smell hit him.
"I'm guessing he's got no sense of smell." Davyn muttered in a loud enough voice for Sam to hear.
Davyn followed along, trying to ignore the smell. He didn't responded when Sam said that he was sure that they'd catch up soon. Hopefully they could end this soon.

"Yeah the smell is not the greatest down here. It's like someone dumped five thousand tons of garbage down here and let it rot." Sam said trying his best to desribe it. His cold had managed to block out some of the smell but even he managed to get the rest in. "Seems so. Either that or he doesn't care about the stench." Sam agreed as he looked around hoping to find some way that they could easily spot the big ugly beast. He'd have to leave something behind in order for them to follow, right? Otherwise they were walking around in circles unless they found something soon that would be a clue on what's been going on down here.
Sam began to take the lead down the tunnel and noticed something ahead that was a huge clue for the two of them while they walked. "Well one thing's for sure. He has huge footprints that can crack the floor. I'm sure we'll find more of them." Sam said as he saw the footprints that were left in the concrete. Definitely weren't human as they were massive in size. They now had something to help them with to keep going. He lit up his hand a gain with the same photons but this time used it as a light. It wasn't too easily lit down here so they had to rely on their vision in the dark. But his photons certainly seemed to help, and it was better than nothing.

"I think that's what they did." Davyn replied, trying to lighten the mood but he could understand if he failed at it.
It looked like tons of garbage had been dumped down here but...considering what the sewers were used for, it was meant to be a disgusting place. Davyn wasn't going to touch anything, who knows what had been against the walls and everything else. Following Sam all Davyn could do was look around, trying to catch some sight of the giant being they were pursuing.
"Well that does help. There's just one question," Davyn started when he glanced down at the foot prints, he then looked at Sam. "What exactly are we going to do to stop him?"

Sam sighed as he wasn't entirely sure either. SHIELD hadn't shown up yet and neither had any other heroes when he was trying to contact them about a rampaging monster. Would they be alone down there in the sewer by themselves? Or would someone come in and help them at the last minute. Sam shook his head as he was about to speak but a voice came in over the other side of his communicator, "It's Ironman, Nova. I heard your request. I'll be there as soon as I can." He called as it was loud of enough so the two of them could hear.
"Is that ok with you Davyn? Looks like Ironman is going t o make an appearance for us. So we're not alone in facing Abomination." Sam said showing some relief as he heard this. He wasn't going to be good at fighting Abomination he was just like the Hulk. And he wasn't entirely sure if Davyn was good at it either. At least Tony's brains would help them solve things through this mess. Why did villains always have to be so secretive and hide all the time? It would be a heck of a lot easier if that was the case. "To be honest. I'd be grateful if SHIELD sent just about anyone over at this rate." Sam said knowing that they'd use help from just about anyone.
