It wasn't a surprise, in fact it was nothing new. Tony was glad to be out of the hospital finally after being kidnapped and pretty much tortured by pain. He hadn't talked to many people about it except for some of the Avengers. It had been a touchy subject and he wasn't exactly fond of telling total strangers about it. He had begun his old ways of being Ironman again as he flew through the city at ridiculously high speeds in order to meet something in time. He had received the alert from Jarvis, his AI was meant to keep watch on the news to make sure that not a single villain was going to attack the city. This city was his home and it was also home to a group of heroes. He wasn't about to let down an invitation of beating up a bad guy go away, he hadn't done it in such awhile it was probably going to feel great. "Target identified sir." Jarvis said on the other side as the creature appeared on the screen. It was massive, a large robot that AIM had attempted to reconstruct, but tis was where the surprise part had come in. AIM was always stealing things that didn't belong to them and Tony was one of them. He had made sure hundreds of time, and hundred times again that he would stop them from trying to cause damage to things that they would not understand.
This was one more spot where he'd beat the stuffing and wiring out of them to see if it'd knock some sense in the humans. As he came in for an attack Tony opened one palm as a repulsor was shot forward and sent a large whole through the monster of a machine. Still it moved on as the creature didn't seem to be bothered by it. "Jarvis do you mind keeping my lunch warm? I'm gonna be late from the looks of things." Tony asked as the AI noted it. "Noted sir. I will have it ready upon your return." he said as he flew forward preparing for a repulsor blast number two. But things changed as the monster picked up one of the buses that was trying to get away as it was about to throw them. "Oh no you don't there are citizens inside that!" Tony called out as he flew forward to hold back the bus. He may not have the strength of the Hulk but he was pretty darn strong. It weighed so much Tony hoped he could hang on for some time. Well, he did manage to hang onto an F22 would this be any different?
As he glanced to where an audience was forming watching the whole thing take place they were in shock as the bus was taken. It was clear they did not care if any humans or civilians were hurt. They were on a path of destruction and it had to be stopped. But could Tony stop them on his own or would he need help from the Avengers? So far he seemed to be doing ok...

Daisy was running the news camera as the anchor reported from the scene. They were filming from a presumably safe spot. She pointed the camera upwards to get good footage of the beast attacking. Daisy made sure to get a good shot of Iron Man in action. Part of her wanted to drop the camera and help in any way she could, but she didn't think guns would be effective against the behemoth. She then focused the camera on the anchor again, her heart racing. Once they were ordered to stop filming for a moment, she told the anchor she was having a panic attack and could not film any longer. She gave the camera to one of the tech guys and ran to her car. She opened the trunk and grabbed her uniform that she had made out of latex and polyurethane. She got to the side of her car so no one would see her and changed into it. She placed her mask on. This would be her debut as her secret persona Ace. "It's showtime," she said, putting her tactical belt on. The vigilante laced up her black combat boots and headed back out to the action. Daisy grabbed her machine gun, plus grabbed a smaller gun, placing the smaller one in its holster. She wasn't sure how effective the weapons would be, but if she could shoot through the robot's circuits, she would be able to disable it.
Her costume somewhat resembled her dad's in the way that it was two toned and her mask covered her entire face so no one would know her identity, especially if she'd be fighting with Iron Man, since he'd know her because of her mom. Her costume was purple and black from head to toe and had a purple spade on the chest. She ran out to the street. Her machine gun was lightweight, yet powerful and was loaded with 250 rounds.
"Hey tin man! Over heeeeere!!!" She singsongy shouted, towards the robot, wondering if it was even programmed to hear. She aimed the gun, looking for any exposed cables.

Tinman? For a second Tony almost thought the girl shouting had been talking to him. The Avengers had given him that name as a nickname for years, since they were first formed. And a day didn't go by where the others tried to use it as one. He looked back to see where the voice was coming from and from the looks of things she was wearing a sort of suit and had several guns with her on hand. She shot the robot with pretty good aim, and that reminded him of the archers that were on his team. But it was clear it wasn't time for day dreaming he had to help focusing on the machine at hand.
She seemed to have an idea on where to shoot as she was aiming for one of the wires that were placed on the machine. He began to think of a plan towards this as she already had one as well. The machine sparked as one of the bullets that she fired hit it. While the machine was focused on attempting to function again Tony bought this as some time to talk to this vilgante that he hadn't seen before. Francis had talked of a girl that he had met on the streets briefly. But he had no idea this was the same one, the connection would come in due time.
He flew down to the girl still hovering a bit off the ground as some of the passerbyers noticed, but if they had any brains, they would have gotten out of here and avoid the on coming blasts. "I can get you closer to the machine if you want. It's heavy metal is going to be blocking a lot of what you're firing at." He suggested. However as the machine started to regain itself again it sent a powerful blast in their position as Tony put up a shield to block it as it bounced right off. The shield had a decent crack in it from the blast but it would hold up for a bit longer before it totally was smashed into pieces. "This is a really bad day for this." He added with a disappointed sigh.

She couldn't let herself get nervous around Iron Man. Daisy couldn't blow her cover. She had this and felt confident. The girl gave a nod at Tony's offer to get them closer to the robot, assuming he would fly her to an elevated part of the robot.
Just then the robot fired a blast at them. She ducked as Tony shielded them. Once the robot stopped, she stood up. She wondered what the deal was with this thing and who designed it. The machine seemed to be rather intelligent. Being a child of a SHIELD agent, she was taught about this kind of thing.
"Hey turn that frown upside down big guy. We got this," said Ace after hearing Tony's disappointed sigh. She had her father's wit. "Lets rip this hunk of metal to shreds!" The girl exclaimed. Somehow the bullets she fired seemed to have slowed it down. Now they had to finish the job. "Nice suit by the way," she said to Iron Man. She had to divert any suspicion as to who her identity is. Ace fired more shots as the robot came closer to them, hoping to slow it down again, so they could get closer without being roasted.

"Thanks I have hundreds of them back in the labs that I work in." Tony said though recognizing the humor in the girl, if he were out of the suit now he would have winked at her for it, but it was kind of hard to see with the mask on. He did wish one thing, why couldn't the Avengers be as humorous as her in times of need? Times like this they really did need it. He had been in a stressful couple of days after being rescued by his own team and trying to get back to the old life he had. Which you think would have been easy but it really wasn't. He had at least two nights were he was up all day recounting the events he had with the Brotherhood. But he did manage to get some sleep, and now he wanted to get back into his old ways of being Ironman again.
"I wish that were easier said than done though." Tony added as he looked back at Ace and when she nodded he assumed that was the ok for him to pick her up. He picked a good spot as he held her in place. "Hope you don't mind flying at high speeds." Tony suggested as he held onto her. He wasn't going to let her go at any point and he didn't know if she had a healing factor at this point. It might have saved her from a lot of injuries but he wasn't about to risk dropping Ave. So with that, he began to fly towards the machine as it seemed to be detecting their movements as they went to get a closer shot. However it was diverted a bit as he saw an on coming blast coming their way as Jarvis put on the warning siren in his suit. He dodged it as they veered to the right to try and get it out of the way.
"Sorry about that. This guy is really unpredictable." Tony said even admitting it on his end. "Anyways we're getting much closer to the targets, you better get ready." He added. He probably figured at this rate that she didn't need him telling what to do. But some of it was an old habit for being a leader. He was one of them for the Avengers as he shared it with Steve.

As they flew up, she readied her gun. Daisy looked down at the ground below them. She wasn't really one for flying, but she had to get over it. She felt herself get a tad dizzy when they maneuvered to dodge the robot's blast. Once they stabilized, she aimed her gun at the machine's neck, where she could see wires. "Hey metal head! Lets see how you take this you mechanical son of a bitch!" The girl shouted at the android. She hummed the intro to "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple as she shot some rounds into the robot's neck. "Come oooon....die already!" She complained, like an eager child. The girl continued to fire rounds, until she was out of bullets. If that didn't work, she had a couple of backup handguns. Sparks flew out of the robot's neck. Many of the cables and wires were severed.
It almost seemed like it was losing its balance. Maybe that was a good thing. Maybe they finally put a stop to it. But, there were people on the ground. Something that big falling would surely cause some injuries or maybe even death. Hopefully the people on the ground had the brains to move out of the way.

Tony wasn't exactly the greatest flyer either when he had first put on his armor. He nearly crashed into his own car. Er...scratch that crashed into it. It was a hard loss for his Ironman suit but he too had to get over it, he could always buy a new one with the oodles of cash that he had. He was a millionaire and could practically buy anything he wanted. But for now all that had to wait as some annoying robot decided to ruin a part of his day. The girl seemed to be so eager on wanting to stop the machine he noticed and he did too. But he wasn't that expressive about it. "How about I get you a bit closer than this? Like right on top? You'll be able to find a lot more wires that way." He asked Ace as he began to get uncomfortably close.
Tony could hear Steve yelling at him that they were getting too close, but Cap wasn't here right now and they could decide things on their own. As he was ready to drop her off he could see the machine's arms starting to get close like it was going to brush them away as if they were flies. But Tony wasn't about that to happen. With one arm as he still hung on to Ace he pushed the arm back before it could swat at him. Using his armor's strength and his flight he managed to keep it at bay from smacking them back off into the pavement. "You can get off now if you want." He suggested unless he was really in for multitasking this was one of those cases.

Getting dangerously close actually was thrilling to Daisy. If only her mother and father could see her now. Actually, if her mother did see her, she'd have a coronary. She did train the girl to fight, but not in situations like this. She placed the machine gun in its holster, which was on her back. She grabbed the two automatic handguns she had and nodded after Tony said she could get off. "I'm ready," she said to Tony.
When the time was right, she got off, getting on the robot's back. The robot wobbled, but was stable enough. Since she was on the robot's back, she could see the wires in its head. If she could shoot some bullets directly into its head, she'd destroy the circuit board completely.
"Time to shut you down, my friend," said Ace. She found a very narrow opening. She had to be precise as she was limited on ammo. She pointed one of the guns into the opening and shot it four times. With the other gun, she shot at the robot's other arm as it reached towards her to shoo her off. This was kind of fun. She could see why her father liked the whole solo vigilante thing. With the bullets, she was able to cause the arm to jam. Her focus was back on the circuit board. Ace continued to fire into its head, until she was out of bullets in the handgun she was using, hoping this would stop the metal monster.
The robot's power started to fail as it began to head face first down to the ground. She looked up towards Iron Man. "Catch!" She exclaimed to Tony. With her mother and father's stealth, she tumbled off, with the ease of an acrobat. Because the robot was angling downwards. It was a pretty long distance to fall, even though she had a bigger chance of surviving it than a normal person. She didn't particularly fancy a broken arm for a week, which is how long it would take it to heal for her.

"Gotcha!" Tony said as he flew forward to catch Ace before she fell to the ground. He held onto her in his armor as he managed to stay up in the air. As he turned around, it was clear that this machine was not going to last very long. It sparked heavily as it began to slowly fall, it could not handle the stress that was being put on it anymore. It sparked so bad that some parts of it began to snap as he winced. Thank heavens that was not him in that suit, and finally it collapsed on the street. Most of the humans scattered down below, a small bit of dust lifted off the road, it smashed into the ground with a loud thud.
Once the coast was clear, Tony flew down to the asphalt as well as he put Ace on stable ground. "Target is down sir I do not see any life in it." Jarvis said. That seemed to calm his fears seeing that it was down for good. "Thanks Jarvis for the reassurance." He said back to the AI as it spoke back to him. He was going to ditch this place before SHIELD came to clean up the place but he looked back at Ace as he seemed to notice the girl. She certainly had talent, he had been trying to recruit members for their young Avengers, they had a few but they were going to need all the help they could get. Eventually she'd be able to do well on the Avengers if she wanted to join. Seeing her solo act just now, he had low doubts that she'd want to be on her own. Some heroes were just like that, and there was nothing he could do but he could always offer it.
He turned up his mask to show his face to see that he wanted to talk to the girl, "Say can I talk to you quickly? I mean to leave this place before SHIELD comes in. Fury and I haven't exactly had the best of chats together last time I checked. You see...I wanted to ask you if you wanted to join the Avengers? We can always use new members." Tony offered wondering if Ace would take it or not.

Daisy was beyond speechless about the invite. She wanted to accept it. How would her mother react though? There was no reason she shouldn't be given the chance like the other second generation heroes. Her mother taught her to fight for a reason. Her mother was just worried, like any mother. She was too much like both of her parents to live the normal life she was living before she put on her costume for the first time.
"Really? I'm honored. Can I have time to think about it though?" Daisy asked. It wasn't that she didn't want to, it was that she was still getting her feet wet in this superhero thing, plus she didn't want to reveal her identity just yet. She placed the handguns back in their respective holsters. "If that is okay, that is." If she decided to, she knew where to find them. In a way, she liked being solo as well. It was a big decision to make on the spot. With her mutant abilities, she felt she would succeed either way.
She stretched her arms to relax them. This was hard work.

“Of course, I don’t mind at all if you want to take your time to think about it. It’s an offer that not too many people are given.” Tony said; he understood how this moment could be a bit of a shocker. Even he at one point hadn’t been deemed worthy enough to be a part of the team when it was first built. It left him a bit unsure of being a part of the team. But all in all he was confident that she would make it. “I’m sure you can find your way to the Avengers building, it sticks out like a sore thumb. If you have decided that you want to be a part of the team you can usually find one of us there.” He added. Though it was bad for villains, Tony took pride in order to make sure that their home was placed on the map in New York City. It was an icon, everyone who was in the city and out of it at one point had at least heard of them.
Tony could tell in her voice that she was pretty stunned by it all. “Here’s something in case you change your mind and want to join it. It’s got access to the Avengers Tower front door. I’d recommend not losing it.” Tony said as he took a card that he had hidden in a small slot on his armor for storage uses if he had to travel in it. Of course, he could turn it off if he found out that she had discarded it and decided not to come. But if it did get into the wrong hands of a villain there was a chance that it might become a trouble for them. He only gave out these temporary cards to those who were thinking of joining, or were part time members on the team. It was similar to the main avenger cards that they had, but it had an empty slot, almost like any card that could be used.

Daisy grabbed the card, still stunned by the whole thing. "Whoa..this is pretty cool." she said, as she looked down at the card. "I'm Ace, by the way," she said, stating her code name. She wouldn't be giving her real name yet. The girl tucked the card in her holster so she wouldn't lose it.
She realized she'd probably be plastered all over the news as well. Hopefully, no one would press her for interviews. Also, her boss would want some answers as to why she just ran off. She'd think of a clever explanation later. Right now she wanted to go home and relax in a hot bath since this whole ordeal was tiring and she was a bit sore from all of this, plus she was wondering if her mother would be visiting her in the evening. Daisy had to go home, hide her costumes and the weapons just in case.
"So, who's going to clean this pile of scrap up?" Daisy asked, of the fallen robot. It would more than likely need to be completely disassembled and hauled away on trucks. They would need to detour traffic and probably need to shut the road down until its clear. "I mean...we did awesome taking it down and all, but it's gotta be a bitch to move." She picked up a piece of metal from the ground that had fallen off of the robot's head.

Tony had run off plenty of times in the past before he had really gotten a chance to show who he was behind the armor. Many had been suspicious as he dropped and ditched important meetings leaving them to someone else. His Ironman job was very important to him but he also had to keep up with Stark Industries, which he had managed to do recently. He nodded back to Ace as he looked back at her, "It's nice to meet you Ace." He added as he saw some of the news reporters coming in to at least get a story on the two heroes. "As for the clean up I suppose we can lift the heavy thingsy and get them out of the wa." He suggested seeing that the robot was pretty much in one piece. But it was the one that had caused the destruction as it was attacking the city. There was destruction on some of the buildings but it was nothing major.
Tony was a bit of a celebrity now wasn't he? But he wasn't interested in any interviews at this point. "Mr. Stark, who do you think was behind this attack. Are you still with the Avengers on this one?" A reporter asked as Tony sighed not really interested in talking to them. "No comment, we're still investigating obviously." He said as he ended up closing his eyes as a flash from one of the cameras blinded him for a few seconds. "Look this is not the time for an interview. If you want one you have to talk to Director Fury when he arrives." Tony said as he put his serious voice forward telling the truth. Some of the interviewers backed away seeing that he was telling the truth. But some of them could not resist talking to one of the Avengers.
He turned back to Ace as he talked to her, "I suggest we do this quickly. I know I can be a celebrity boy some times but now's not one of those moments." Tony said as he began to lift up into the air to get back to cleaning until Fury arrived. that'd at least keep them away for some time.
