In the morning light let my roots take flight
OLIVIA “LIV” POWELL
- Name: Olivia Powell
- Alias: Liv
- Age: 20
- Gender: Female
- Species: Half human, half Frost Giant
- Codename: Cheshire
- Faction: Avengers
- Play by (optional): Emma Stone
Watch me from above like a vicious dove
- Personality:
Liv is a mischievous creature, constantly toying with people and pulling pranks. She loves to laugh, and will do nearly anything to make the people she’s around have some fun. While she might seem extremely carefree and stupid, Liv is extremely intelligent, and watches everything around her. She can pinpoint the slightest change in a situation, and will plan and react accordingly. She merely comes across as carefree to allow others drop their guard around her.
When Liv gets annoyed or angry, though, a switch flips, and she becomes completely serious. She loses all trace of emotion, save for cold anger. It’s difficult to enrage her into such a manner, and generally requires the insulting or threatening of her allies. She doesn’t care if someone insults her, but the moment someone even hints at insulting someone she cares for, she immediately goes to the defensive. She is quite loyal when she comes to trust someone, thought she doesn’t always have the best way of showing it. - Likes: Playing pranks on others, playing the violin, playing a game of riddles with someone, being around others, doing whatever she damn well pleases
- Dislikes: Being scolded, being told that she’s wrong, not being able to do whatever she wants, any authority figure, outright conflict
- Appearance: Liv is an attractive young woman. While rather pale, she has a fair complexion, blemished only by the presence of freckles. She has deep auburn hair that generally curls of its own accord, and hangs down just past her shoulders. Her jade green eyes are bright, and are quite literally the window to her soul, revealing her every emotion. Liv is lean, and while she may seem relatively scrawny, she is surprisingly well-toned.
- Distinguishing Features: Regardless of Liv’s appearance, the one feature that stays the same is her bright jade green eyes.
- Equipiment: Liv carries a rather odd, elegant knife on her at all times, in case she is caught off guard.

They don’t see me come, who can blame them?
- Mother: Elizabeth Powell, deceased
- Father: Loki Laufeyson, presumed alive
- Siblings: N/A
- Other Family members: N/A
They never seem to catch my eye but I never wonder why
- Powers:
Superhuman Stamina: Liv might be the size of an ordinary human, but she has the metabolism of a Frost Giant. If she so chooses, she can go for a full day exerting herself before she even feels a shred of fatigue, and if she pushes herself, she can last much longer. Her heightened stamina also creates the illusion of her having increased strength, but that is merely her being unaffected by usual human fatigue.
Superhuman Healing Factor: Liv’s metabolism allows her to regenerate damaged tissue faster than ordinary humans.
Illusionary Magic and Telekinesis: Much like her father, Liv can use magic. However, at her current level, she is only capable of using illusionary magic and telekinesis. She can create vivid illusions, enough to fool even the most observant people. She is also capable of telekinesis, and can speak using her mind.
Shapeshifting: As would also be expected of the daughter of Loki, Liv can shapeshift and change her form at will. She can adopt almost any form that she has seen, although she prefers to stay in human form. Her second favorite form is that of a large tabby cat, which is where she received the codename “Cheshire”. - Weaknesses:
Stamina Limits and Backlash: While Liv has increased stamina, she is still partially human. If she pushes herself for too long, she has to take time to recover, and falls into a comatose-like state to regain her energy.
Healing Limits: Liv is generally unaffected by minor cuts and bruises, but if she is more seriously injured, her healing takes longer to kick in. In addition, her healing abilities cut into her stamina, so if she has used up a majority of her stamina, she will not heal as fast as usual.
Knowledge of Magic: Liv’s magic is limited by her knowledge of it. She cannot use a new type of sorcery until she has extensively researched it, and been taught how to use it in most cases. The magics she does know also has limits. She can cast illusions, but only for short periods of time. Her telepathy is relatively weak unless she is really concentrating and she can only reach people or things within a limited radius around her.
Shapeshifting: Liv can only hold a different form for a limited amount of time, usually a few hours at best. She also cannot shapeshift into anything she has not seen. - Skills: Basic hand-to-hand combat, talented with a blade, quick intellect, sharp wit
- History:
Liv’s mother had never wanted a child. Yet, there was nothing she could do about it when the god of mischief paid her a visit one night. Nine months later, Liv was born amidst several complications. Both her and her mother almost died, but the little girl and her mother pulled through in the end. A sickly child, Liv required more attention than her mother was willing to give. When Liv was barely a year old, her mother left her at a foster home. Over the years, the girl bounced back and forth between families, her mischievous nature revealing itself at a very young age. Her powers began to manifest around the same time, and she quickly got over her initial sickliness. The appearance of her powers only succeeded in getting Liv into more mischief, and she became the terror of the foster home.
As she aged and her abilities developed, Liv attracted the attention of several mutant groups, both good and bad. When she accidentally shapeshifted into a dragon that she’d seen from a mythology book, she attracted the attention of the Asgardians as well. Recognizing the magic she possessed, the girl was brought to Asgard, where she was put under the tutelage of Amora. She spent a few years in training, mastering her abilities before Amora was exiled. At the same time, it was discovered that Loki was her father, and Liv was sent back to Earth to distance her from him. However, Loki came to her through dreams, helping her further master her magic and encouraging her mischief.
Despite this, Liv grew up not understanding her father’s reasons for being so manipulative and cruel. She came to distance herself from his ideals, living by her own code. She became a brilliant student, flying through school as though it was nothing to her. Liv left home after graduating at the top of her class, wandering the world to see what she could do. After a year or so of aimless wandering, she grew bored, and longed for something to occupy her time. She was approached by several members of SHIELD, and learned of the Avengers Initiative. Intrigued, Liv decided to join the team, figuring that it would be a fun way to spend her time.

Liv huffed out a breath, pouting up at the ceiling from where she lay on her cot. She was bored. Plain and simple. Maybe joining the Avengers hadn’t been the greatest of ideas. She had hardly done anything in the past few weeks she’d been here. Liv already missed the freedom of doing as she pleased. Rolling onto her stomach, she scowled across the room, wishing there was something to do.
Oh, but there was something to do. A sly grin curved across the girl’s lips, and her eyes sparkled with mischief. Pushing herself off the bed, Liv shifted fluidly into the tabby cat form that she so loved. Leaping to the floor, she slunk out through the tiny crack in her door. The air around her shimmered the moment she stepped outside her room, and she vanished from view, casting an illusion around herself to hide from any watchful eyes. She padded quietly down the hallway, her green eyes scanning the area, looking for anyone incoming. She had a desire for having some good-natured fun, but she needed someone to be around for her to actually pull any pranks.
Luckily for her, she heard someone stomping down the hallway. Summoning up her magic, Liv cast an illusion of Fury stomping back and forth, looking absolutely livid. Grinning to herself, the girl leapt up to perch on the raftings, her tail flicking back and forth as she waited for whoever was coming to run into the Fury illusion. They were in for a real treat with this one.
