An Early Morning -OPEN-

Lance yawned a bit as he rubbed the back of his neck, just waking up despite it being an early morning. He was normally one to get up pretty early, often wanting to go for a quick run around the mansion or just to get some things prepared before he would begin some of the morning classes. Though he had just completed some of his college courses he was there to teach athletics for the much younger students and hoping to help them better with their powers. Much like he had the few years he had been there.

He was quickly dressed, shaved, and prepared for the day before he headed down towards the kitchen. By now his stomach was certainly growling loud enough those with enhanced hearing could have heard it very easily. But as he was making his way there he could smell the aroma of coffee being made or was made, which was one thing he didn't exactly enjoy but many others did.

Pushing the door opened it didn't surprise him to see someone there already, Kaitlynn in fact, another teacher there at the mansion. Though she was a good amount of years older then him and he didn't see her often except on occasional staff meetings, none the less he spoke up,"Morning Kaitlynn."He said kindly as Lance moved towards the fridge and opened it before he grabbed a bottle of water and closed the door behind him.

"Yup, never hard to sleep well after along day of helping the students here since they pretty much tire you out."Lance said with a smile, taking a quick drink of his water before he went to sit down across from Kaitlynn seeing she was grading papers. That was one of the few things he never really had to do, not unless it was for marking on certain exercises and stretches but even then it never really accounted for much. It might have been helpful to tell the students what they had to work on though but still.

"She seems the typical happy eleven year old,"Lance answered and chuckled."But she's been doing fine Kaitlynn, your daughter seems like a very quick learner and she could end up one of my best students as she gets older."He assured her, having very high hopes for many of his students. Maybe ones that didn't care he might felt sympathy for but those that actually tried he was a little more hopeful. What he was really aiming for was for them being the best they could and not end up in a life he had once.

Though he quickly pushed aside the negative thoughts and not wanting to let his past get in the way of yet another conversation. It had done that in the past and still he seemed fairly mysterious to his origins. "Come on you know me Kait, I hardly ever sit on my butt."He said with a slight laugh, considering her a good friend. He admitted she was a good looking woman but he could see them as just being good friends. "Nah, I plan to maybe go do my usual stuff in New York is all. How about you?"

"No thanks Kait, I'm good for now but thanks for the offer."Lance said as he drank a bit more of his water, not exactly having much of an appetite this morning. Perhaps his stomach hadn't quite caught onto it being morning yet but he guessed it wouldn't be long from now he would be hungry later. For now he was satisfied to drink his water and chat with his fellow teacher and teammate. Not that much happened these days, it had been relatively peaceful surprisingly but none the less it was likely to be broken eventually.

For now they at least had the luxury of enjoying a time for just teaching the students, relaxing, and living their lives as normally as they could. Or to what level of living they could see as normal. Being a mutant it was difficult to see your life as such or other factors often interfered with that, "Sounds like you'll be having a fun weekend at least Kaitlynn and the same for Charity." He said to her with a kind smile but he knew his weekends weren't always fun, more of spending time in keeping himself on the alert and ready when he went off to New York City.

Lance nodded in understanding and gave a slight smile as he was finishing his water, knowing sooner or later his appetite would catch up but just not quite yet. "Don't worry Kait I'm sure she'll have fun, besides it's not like you get to go out as often as you want when your a teacher so it'll be good for the two of you."He said to her but noticed the faint smile tugging at her lips. It was obvious she was looking forward to it and he had no doubt Charity just might look forward to spending the time with her mother as well.

Though as he was standing and throwing his water away Lance was a little surprised to see Professor Xavier himself join them. "Good morning Professor, not often we see you this early."He greeted kindly before he was sitting back down in his chair, watching the older man making himself his own breakfast. "The same with mine, a little rambunctious at times but none the less all is going well."He said with a proud voice, knowing the students were working hard to improve on their powers.

Though it wasn't always an easy task to get some students to be able to feel confident in what they were and what they could do. It was certainly a challenge that Lance was more then willing to help with,"It's certainly always an adventure to see what the kids can do each day."

Lance nodded slightly at Kaitlynn, knowing she was worried and missed her husband greatly but it was unfortunate of what had happened to him. Being an X-man it sometimes was the result on some missions, though it seemed to rarely happen now these days which he could guess his fellow teacher was wishing it had been like this a 11 years ago rather then now. But there was no changing the past and only looking to a better future.

It almost made him think how good the others had had it here, especially since not all of them came from a bad past that was much like his. And for a brief moment his gaze seemed to darken slightly, thinking about the family he had once felt so safe with and loved suddenly changed in six years then was taken away in an instant when his powers manifested. Without really realizing it Lance had clenched his fists slightly with his arms showing the veins slightly before he quickly shook it off when hearing the Professor speak again, "It's been a while since we've had a new student, but I'm sure we can help her through this like the rest Xavier." He said confidently with an edge of shakiness in his voice.

Though it wasn't like Lance to suddenly let something get to him like this, even having to calm himself before his powers would be affected as well. With them being based on his emotional and mental state Lance knew very well he could end up harming someone unintentionally.
