Sonia Carmen Ramirez
- Name: Sonia Ramirez
- Alias: Sony
- Age: 30 Years
- Gender: Female
- Species: Mutant
- Codename: “Vagabond”
- Faction: Unaffiliated, but possibly looking to join the Avengers.
FACIN’ TIME AGAIN
- Personality:
Sonia is an outgoing young lady. She’s not exactly a social butterfly—but at the same time, she’s not exactly shy, either. In reality, she is fairly straight forward and up front. If she doesn’t like you—oh, you’ll know. She has a sharp sense of humour, and loves to mess with people. She’s shockingly quite childish, mischievous, and immature for her age, but she does know when to be serious—mainly at work. During work hours, she acts like any normal, average, dull young stereotypical woman would.
Later in the day, away from work, however, Sonia likes to lead a bit of a party-girl’s life. There’s nothing she likes more than slipping on a ‘little black dress’ and heading out into the clubs of New York for a drink and a dance. She can be a bit foxy and sassy at times—perhaps a bit flirty now and again. She does have her boundaries however, which she hardly ever oversteps unless she happens to have one rather strong drink that night.
Secretly, Sonia harbors insecurities about her age, habits, and looks.
- Likes:
Parties, Margaritas, Music, Good books, Watching thunderstorms, Romantic Comedies, Travelling
- Dislikes:
Spiders, Awkward Situations, Cold weather, Rich or Powerful People {she believes they’re all full of themselves}, Being Looked Down On
- Appearance:
Sonia is a pretty young woman with a bit of an ‘hourglass’ figure. She has long, wavy dark brown hair—which looks almost black—that falls to about her mid-back. She stands at about 5’ 5” and has fairly wide hips. Normally, Sonia wears fairly modest clothing—a blouse, a pencil skirt, and maybe a hat if she feels daring—to work. Outside of work, she can be a bit more risqué about her clothing choices—but not much more. Sonia’s eyes are naturally a dark brown.
VAGABOND
Vagabond, Sonia’s ‘Super Hero’ counterpart, is a bit different. Her costume consists of what could be considered a blue, skin tight leotard. She wears a dark blue hood, which always covers her eyes and hair. She wears a sash around her waist with the markings that show up on her face when she uses her powers. She appears to wear bandages around her legs, and blue stiletto-styled shoes.
Her eyes turn purple when she uses her powers, and usually remain purple a few hours after she’s done using them—as they change back to normal very slowly.
- Distinguishing Features:
Human: None, she’s fairly average.
Vagabond: Outfit, obviously—the hood that always covers her eyes and her purple eyes / face markings.

BECAUSE I’M CRAZY, BABY
- Powers:
TELEKINESIS:
Her power of Telekinesis was passed down by her father from a gene that was dormant in his own generation. She is able to lift objects up to 4x her weight {which, would be about 125 lbs by the way}—so basically about 500 lbs. She does have the ability to lift heavier objects—but to do this requires complete focus, she cannot be disturbed from this ‘focus’, and it drains a large amount of her energy. Her eyes glass over with purple light when she is using her Telekinesis powers, and the object she carries is also glassed over in a light purple glow. She also possesses the ability to levitate using telekinesis.
TELEKINETIC POWER:
Her Telekinetic Power is a branch off of her Telekinesis power. She has the ability to turn her telekinesis into physical matter {basically a glowing purple light ball} which she is then able to project at a target or enemy. She normally uses this for long-distance or ranged attacks, but occasionally for short-distance as well. However, her telekinetic power is very unstable, and can actually explode in her face if she is not careful with it. It is also only able to travel approximately 300 ft before disappearing into thin air.
TELEPORTATION:
This gene was received from her father—who was an active user of it. He often used the power to take Sonia to different places as a child. Sonia’s teleportation gene is one of long distance—but it is not strong enough to take her from one side of the planet clear to the other. Not at the moment, however. With practice, perhaps this will be a possibility. Sonia often has to make two-to-three teleportations to make it from, say, California, to the middle of Russia. Long distance teleportation also takes much longer than short distance teleportation does.
- Weaknesses:
TELEKINESIS:
She is only able to lift about 500 lbs of weight with her telekinesis before she must do some serious focusing. This also drains a large amount of her energy—when her focus is broken or she is hit while holding something with telekinesis—regardless of where the object is, she will drop it. When levitating, she cannot travel long distances, as it drains too much of her energy.
TELEKINETIC POWER:
An unstable ball of energy—it can explode in her face before she even has a chance to throw it at an enemy. It can also only travel about 300 ft before disappearing into thin air. The farther away the energy is thrown, the weaker its power is when it hits.
TELEPORTATION:
Cannot travel very long distances in one trip—must make several teleportations to reach very long distances. Long distance teleportation also takes longer to complete, and the area in which she teleports can be unpredictable—f or instance, she could find herself on the top of a building, or in mid-air.
OTHER:
If she really hates someone, she will not be a team-player, no matter how much the odds are against her.
Sensitive
Can act before thinking sometimes.
- Skills:
Martial Arts {Defensive & Offensive}, Bi-Langual {Spanish & English}
- History:
Sonia was born inside of the United States to two Spanish-Speaking parents, Marianne & Santiago Ramirez. She lived in Chicago for the first part of her life, and lived fairly normally—for someone with a mutant for a father. Her father and mother had a very good relationship, and the three often took ‘trips’ to different places using her father’s teleportation abilities. Her father was also a bit of a… Part time superhero, which Sonia took pride in—but was never allowed to tell.
Santiago disappeared around the middle of Sonia’s tenth year, and never returned to them. Marianne assumed him to be dead, taken out by some sort of super villain overseas. At first, Sonia didn’t want to believe this—but after ten years of waiting for her father to return—she accepted it. She first discovered her powers as a teenager when she was about fifteen—after a horrid day at school, she had furiously flung something out her window using telekinesis. Her mother was horrified.
After losing Santiago, her mother denied Sonia of using her powers for the first few years—rules which Sonia obviously broke. She learned she was able to manifest her telekinetic powers into physical energy, and that she was able to teleport much like her father. After a serious talk with her mother about the possibility of Sonia becoming a ‘good guy’ like her dad, she gave in. Sonia got herself a reputation in Chicago for awhile as a super hero—doubling both college and super hero duties at night.
Eventually, Sonia finished college with a degree and decided to move to New York—though Marianne, her mother, still resides in Chicago, Sonia now lives in an apartment building and works in a downtown New York building as the secretary of a CEO. She discovered her love of parties in New York—and gave up her ‘super hero’ title for awhile. She still occasionally will use her powers for things, but not as much as she used to. She occasionally goes through ‘spurts’ of inspiration in which Vagabond will appear to help with crime in the city for a bit, and then mysteriously disappear from the streets for a good month or so.
She has yet to find the proper inspiration to carry on any sort of super-hero gig.
