From the unknown reaches of space, the Beyonder watched the happenings of the universe, specifically the planet known as Earth. He watched as heroes like Spiderman, The Fantastic Four, and the Avengers battled the likes of Loki, Dr. Doom, and Dr. Octopus to secure salvation for the planet and maintain order, while the X-Men continued their crusade for human/mutant unity, opposed by Magneto and his Brotherhood.
This made him weary to see the same campaigns and victories over and over, and the Beyonder sought something new.
In his quest, the Beyonder came upon a new universe, a strange place where a noble alliance of superheroes known as the Justice League battled the likes of Lex Luthor and Gorilla Grodd in cities like Metropolis and Central City, while the Dark Knight known as Batman brought fear to a collection of crazed criminals in Gotham City.
The Beyonder's interest was renewed, and he devised a little game. Using his seemingly unlimited powers, he combined the universes to see what would become of it, opening the door for strong new alliances and epic new rivalries. Who will triumph? Who will feel defeat? Only time will tell... if there is any time left.......
