The crystals were blue in color, as the cavern had been as well. Everywhere you looked there was a different shade of blue. And when the light shimmered the blue shades reflected off the crystals. Of course being embedded in his skin some of them were darker than normal. "It seemed like the only option at the time." Pietro said as he lifted his shirt back to normal to cover up the crystals. And looked away. "Feeling powerless was one thing it's an aweful thing to feel. I could never run, never feel the strength that I once had. And it was all gone." Quicksilver said wondering if Horus would understand. At the time he didn't know of any other way to find a way to bring his powers back. For all he knew they could have come back slowly. But being as desperate as he was, he couldn't wait for anything. "That's like you loosing your draconic half. You're just never the same after that." He said as he decided there was probably enough talking in this. "Either way I did get some benefit out of it. I have some new powers that came with the terrigen crystals that can help me. They usually leave the opponent surprised that I have a second or third trick up my sleeve."

"Pietro there have been times I wished I never was a mutant to be truly honest. There has been a long time in my life before I was part of the X-men student body that I began to loath what I was and what I could do."Horus said in a serious tone, beginning to see there were some differences in how they viewed things. Especially when it came to the matters of their powers. In fact Horus wished he could maybe just have aura manipulation and vision, rather then being the 'killer beast' he had been nearly turned into.
Sighing he looked away for a long moment, his gaze back on the large lake as he watched the fish swimming around calmly. "I often have wondered what it would have been like to be without my mutant abilities, to actually be a normal human being instead of being among the evolved populace of the world that has become so much different."He admitted to his not-yet-known half brother and folding his wings closer to his back. "Sometimes I wish there was a way to rid of all of my mutation. Sure I can amputate my wings but what good does it do if I still look like a walking wingless dragon?"

"I guess I understand your position Horus." Pietro said as he looked back at Horus as he saw that he was watching the fish as they swam around calmly. Not once had the two mutants startled them as they swam. Either they were used to people or not at all shy towards humans. He watched them for a bit longer as he looked back at him, "Either way I was desperate. My family's made up of other mutants and to be the only human in it for the rest of my life...I possibly could have been kicked out." He said as he remembered his relationship with his father. It was strained and as well it could have been worse if he found out that he was just a human again.
He sighed, "My father's Magneto. And being the human disliker that he is. He would haven't enjoyed that news if he heard about it." He added. Even as he thought about it, the days back when he was a Brotherhood member he could remember just how bad those days were.

"It happens Pietro, we just have different views and wants which isn't much of a big deal really. Just the fact of how life is."Horus said with a slight shrug, watching the calming movements of the fish surrounded by their invisible aura as they swam slowly in the pond. If only every moment in life could be that relaxing, be so slow and to be able to just enjoy it and not worry about everything that happened. But sadly it was never like that for very long, may in some times but not always.
But his gaze went back to the speedster to which he could only shake his head slightly,"Even if he is your father it doesn't mean you have to be him. But then again can't say I can live down my family since I never truly had one."Horus told him, wishing in a way he could have instead of what he had had in his life. To be honest the X-men had been the closest thing he had to family and still considered them as such to this day. "Truth be told the X-men are my family and so far I have no disliking to them."

"Yeah I agree with that. We all have different backgrounds and such." Pietro agreed but didn't seem to heavily interested in trying to tell Horus just yet what had happened also. The fact that his father was one of the most feared mutants was enough to bother him and dangle over his head. It was like a curse almost, in a way you were feared knowing that someone just as powerful and hateful was so close. He let out a soft sigh as he let Horus continue speaking as he looked over at him.
"I've tried doing that many times before. Sometimes it's worked. Sometimes it hasn't." Pietro said with a soft nod as his comment. However he seemed surprised when Horus mentioned the fact that he had family members in the X-Men. As far as he knew for himself, he just had his sister. No aunt, no uncle from either one of his father or his mother. That part was just where he assumed they died off before they the twins had been born. Then again, the family Horus was mentioning probably wasn't blood related. But then again he could be wrong. "The X-Men and I don't exactly go together. I haven't really bothered visiting them recently since they'd be at my throat for being a former Brotherhood member."

Unfortunately Horus had no idea that he too would have that reputation, especially if anyone found out or himself of the truth. He had yet to discover any of the relations he had only knowing that his mother was dead and any family ties she had had were long since gone, cut from the fact she could not continue the family name. No that was now Horus' job as being the son of whatever the Herrmann family had been or what had once remained. It just hadn't been an important thing to the draconic mutant to track them down.
"Regardless of who your family is Pietro sometimes they are the only ones who will have your back, even when they don't seem like they will."Horus told him and let out a soft sigh,"Unfortunately some people aren't quite so lucky to have a family for that so as of recently the X-men will always be my family where I do not have anyone else."Shifting his wings slightly Horus turned his gaze towards the sky, seeing it was getting close to the middle of the afternoon. And of course lunch time since he hadn't yet eaten.
"You don't happen to be hungry do you Pietro? I was fixing to get some lunch."He asked as he looked back at the speedster.

"Yeah that's true. My sister has felt like my only one that was close in family. That and my adopted parents. Other than that my relationship with my true father is very difficult." Pietro said as he looked back at Horus to see what he was doing. For awhile, he had been focusing on the fish as they swam together, and then broke apart on several occasions. He wondered if the fish had noticed them at all. Or had it been at the point that they had gotten used to humans, and didn't mind them at al?
Though as he thought about it he realized Horus said something else, about lunch. it was about that time to eat for everyone as they were heading towards some of the carts and vending machines that were there to get something to snack on with a real meal. He nodded as he got up from his leaning position, "Sure that sounds like an idea. I wouldn't say I'm starving, but it sounds like a plan." He added wondering where Horus had in mind. Many times Pietro had gone out on is own to several places that he knew of. But if Horus had a new place to try out he wouldn't have been afraid to try it.

"Well I know a small sandwich shop close by, actually been a regular there since I was brought here to New York City. They have so many choices it's sometimes hard to decide what to get but your welcome to come along if you want."Horus said as he nodded towards a path leading out of the park. Though the shop was actually just across the street and was luckily one you could take with you or stay inside. At this rate Horus was tempted to stay inside so he could remove his glasses for a while, having yet to tell Pietro why he wore them.
Though he waited to see if Pietro would really come along or not, knowing he might be uncertain since most humans were weary of their kind. But he knew the owners there and most of the employees didn't mind mutants, in fact they didn't seem to hate anyone no matter who they were. It was a nice change compared to most places and he hoped the speedster wouldn't let that change his decision.

"Sure I'll come. Most of the time I end up eating food that the Avengers provide, not that it's bad but sometimes it's just better to get out and taste some of New York's food." Pietro said as he followed after Horus curious to see what this place looked like and what it had to offer. He wasn't starving at this point, in fact he had eaten before he came to the park and wandered around it. That had been about five hours ago when he woke up.
But it hadn't even crossed his mind yet that he may be wandering into a place where the mutants had been hated or were not allowed to enter a shop or resturant. He had been more wary of that when he was a part of the Brotherhood. However, he tended to avoid the more crowded places such as the famous stores unless he was with someone like his sister. Other than that he stayed clear of them. Of course, finding an uncrowded area in New York was another thing, it was near impossible with the large amount of people living in it.

"Have to agree with that one, sometimes fast food can be the best at times. Metaphorically speaking of course."Horus said with a nod, pausing when they came to the side walk and making sure they had enough time before moving over to the street. Though he could easily have flown across thanks to his wings and carried Pietro with little effort. But sometimes he preferred to not draw more attention to himself then his wings already did when he just walked around so he wasn't opted to doing so. Not to mention the speedster might not have liked it.
But it didn't take them long before they arrived to the shop Horus was use to going to, but even from the outside it was a small shop. Maybe no bigger then a small Starkbucks coffee shop. Opening the door which rang a small bell the two could see that only a few others were there not counting the employees and one manager smiled,"Horus! Been a long time!"She said kindly,"The usual?" "Yes ma'am, same as usual and good to see you."He said with a smile as he finally could remove his glasses and revealed chocolate brown eyes beneath the glasses he wore.

Pietro put his hand on the glass door as his print was smudged a bit on the glass but soon it wasn't long before it disappeared. Then the door shut behind him a few seconds after he had managed to get by it. He was surprised to hear the members speak up about reconizing Horus. They must have known him too well here from the sounds of it. As Pietro looked up he seemed to be having trouble from the start on trying to figure out what to order. They had several interesting choices here, and being that it was his first time here he had really no idea what to pick.
Finally he decided to settle with a roast beef sandwhich with some fries on the side and as well as something like hot chocolate. It was after all getting colder out side as the days went on. Although he generally got warmed up from running so much outside, the last thing he wanted to do was get cold all of a sudden. He took out his own wallet knowing he had enough money on him that he could pay for it, "Hi could I have a roast beef sandwhich along with a cup of your hot chocolate please?" Pietro asked as he began to slow down his voice and speech knowing that not everyone could hear it. He was at least good with that, and was greatful that.

As Horus was finishing paying for his own he soon stepped aside to let Pietro pay for his order while leaning against the counter to wait patiently. "Of course sir, it should be done in no time."The older lady said with a smile as she rang up the price and put Pietro's paid total into the cash register before she headed back to give the orders to those in the back. THough it would be a few minutes before their food and drinks were finished so Horus was content to wait patiently before looking at his half brother. "See not so bad so far, for the most part this place is pretty peaceful."He said to the speedster.

"Thanks." Pietro said in return as he took the tray that had his food on it as he heard Horus speak up. It wasn't bad after all from what Horus had said. And soon maybe he'd come down here a bit more often in order to get away from the Avenger's mansion and get away from the food. Not that it was bad of course, it was just a different way of variety and he nodded back to Horus, "Yeah so far so good. I can't seem to find a complaint anywhere." Pietro said as he waited for Horus wondering where he wanted to sit, or if he could choose on his own. Pietro liked sitting next to one of the window seats. Of course if Horus had a preference for somewhere else he wouldn't mind it at all.

Horus also said his thanks when he got his food, the woman nodding as she smiled before going back to helping some other customers who had come in shortly after them. "Well I glad you like it so far Pietro,"Horus said with a smile before motioning the speedster to follow him as he moved towards a bar counter that went along the windows, which gave them a sight of Central Park across the street. And it was also the only real place he could sit that was comfortable thanks to his wings not being flexible and making it difficult to sit in certain places.
Sitting on one of the benches and setting his food and drink down Horus was glad to finally get something since it had been a while. "As for the Avengers food I can only imagine there's quite a bit, especially considering you guys have a mansion."He said as he took a bite of his sandwich which was a salami, cheese, and mayo one.

Pietro gave a nod to Horus as he looked to see where Horus had suggested. His blue eyes looked around seeing that it seemed very decent here as he sat up on one of the high stools that was meant for the bar. It even spun a bit if you wanted it too, but he knew that may have gotten a bit chidlish at that rate. As Pietro put his tray down he waited for Horus as he sat patiently. He wasn't starving just yet, but he knew that he might not get anything else to eat unless he went back to the Avengers mansion, or he was on his own. "Yeah it was all thanks to Tony's idea that we had the remaining floors in it. In a way it serves as a double purpose, it's Tony's residence and as well as a Headquarters for his industry and a place for us to stay. Maybe one day I could ask him permission to see if he could let you in for a tour or something of the place." He offered wondering if Horus would like that. Plus it also depended on what Tony had to say.
