Shadow was in a deep sleep resting. He had used allot of his energy in porting. He had needed to rest to regain his energy. Even than it would be a couple days before he was back to one hundred percent. Unless he stayed in the caves. The darkness would help regenerate him faster. A few hours after falling asleep the jingle of the chains woke him. He was still tired but not so badly that he was weak. The darkness that surrounded him helped. "I see your awake, that's good to hear Torus." He called the boy by his first name for the first time. He saw the blanket tossed to the side. He sighed and shook his head. Standing up he walked to the blanket and picked it up and folded it setting it on a table. "Welcome to my humble abode. You are deep underground in a cave. And to answer your question. No mutant's or half breeds are monsters. It is the humans that are the monsters. If only you knew what they where doing to hundreds of mutants every day kid. Maybe than you would understand why I want to kill all humans."
Walking closer to the boy he used the shadows to wrap around him and hold him still so he couldn't move. he than bent and unwrapped one of the bandages. He looked at the skin and frowned. "Sorry about the wounds. I didn't think it would be this bad when you changed back. But they will heal eventually though you might have some scarring once they heal." Once he re-wrapped the wounds he stepped back and released the shadows from the boy.
"I imagine your hungry what would you like? If your not hungry you at least have to be thirsty. Walking to a small ice box he opened it and withdrew a cold bottle of water. He had a generator down here that gave him electricity. He set it by the boy and stepped back. "I may seam like a monster but I'm really not if your a mutant. Or half mutant in your case kid."

He felt his boy stiffen and his hairs stood up on end on the back of his neck. He didn’t move at all as Shadow came to fix his bandages on his head. They had certainly bled through a lot when he had been injured. They were probably going to be needed to be changed again later that day, in the night or even in the afternoon. None the less he doubted that it would stop any time soon. “You called me by my real name….for once…” He muttered softly not caring if Shadow heard him or not. Knowing him, Shadow probably had sensitive ears, and could have heard things that were even soft in the nearby room.
“I don’t care about the wounds at this point. Either they’ll heal or they won’t I’ll probably loose a bit of my vision being that you cut so close to my eye.” Torus said as he felt a bit of his stubborn side appearing. It was the same in his father. But he knew if he got Shadow mad that meant that some of the shadows would be wrapped around him. So he calmed himself down as he apologized, “I’m sorry for lashing out like that. But it is true most likely.”
The young teenager was surprised as Shadow called him by his first name, which was definitely a first. But he looked back to the water bottle he seemed unsure about his own thirst, he hadn’t been hungry he knew that. He had lost his appetite before he blacked out. As he looked at it for a bit he did know that he hadn’t drunken anything since this morning at breakfast. He was sure it was well past lunch time at this point. He would at least leave the water bottle alone for now; Torus wasn’t that thirsty he decided. But he looked back up at Shadow as some questions rolled into his head wondering if Shadow had an answer for them. “I’m not thirsty or hungry. But can I ask…Where is your home exactly? Like are we in New York still? Or are we in another country?” He asked.
“I suppose….I got my powers just like every other mutant did. When we hit a certain age of course it happens.” Torus said as he looked at his hands a bit to see that they were pretty dirty now from the fight and being wrapped around so many times.

Shadow shook his head and sat down, "You should care about your wounds. And as for the water you need to drink it. You lost allot of blood. And you need to restore it. So you need liquids. Please drink Torus. Again my apologies for that. Hopefully when yes when not if you return the doctors can fix that. I had only meant to cut your skin enough so you would bleed which would go in your eyes and temporarily blind you."
He couldn't help but laugh when the boy said something about him calling him by his name. [b"Yes I know I thought you might like it better if I called you that instead of kid or boy."[/b] Hen he apologized as well he smiled at the boy. "Apology accepted, now would you like to hear the reason why I hate humans so much. I do have a reason and it's not a stupid one either."
At the question about where they where Shadow smiled again and shook his head. "I will not tell you exactly where but be relieved that you are still in the state of new york. Just not in the city any more. As I stated your deep underground. And don't bother trying to escape. There are to many tunnels down here you will easily get lost. There are no markings I have left none. There are many dangers down here if you don't know the way out. Even I don't know the way out. I come and go by Shadow Porting."
He was surprised he started talking about how he got his powers. He nodded, "Well as for myself I was abandoned as a baby. I was born this way."

Torus found his eyes turning towards the water bottle again. He hated to admit it but Shadow was right. If anything he was going to be dehydrated if he didn’t drink anything soon. So he picked up the water with his hand and opened the cap to the water bottle and started to drink it. He drank at least a good amount of it. As he took a breath and released the water bottle from his mouth he realized how much he had taken from it. It was pretty close to about half way gone already. And it felt pretty good as the cold fluid went down his throat. “There I drank some...Or a lot in this case.” He said as he listened to what Shadow had to say. “I think you might have done a bit more. You know eyes are sensitive sometimes in that area when they are injured or wounded. A heavy cut or even a deep one can make you lose your vision.” Torus said.
It made him loose his hopes more on trying to escape. If it was a labyrinth underground, how did Shadow manage to find this place anyways? He knew if he continued to ask too many questions he might have gotten mad at him. But Torus couldn’t help that, he was always like that. He liked asking them in order to get as much knowledge as he could. Maybe because of that some of his uncle’s genius may have rubbed off on him. But he doubted that was the case. He was sure it was mostly from curiosity. “Well I guess that lessens my chances to escape. By a lot.” He muttered to himself knowing that even with these chains he did not have the super strength to pull them away or crush them. They pretty much held him down.
“Oh. I guess we can relate in some ways. You see I’ve had these pointed ears from my Skrull half of my side since I was a baby. I usually end up hiding them while I’m with the humans by shifting into a more normal form. Or I’ll end up being called a freak or an ‘elf’.” He said as he listened to Shadow as he spoke. They were different in so many ways and similar in so many ways as well. Both of them were mutants at the same time and having different reasons for disliking or liking humans.

Shadow got up and walked a few feet away than turned around and looked at the kid. "You need to know something Torus, it's why I brought you. Like I said I want your help. And I think once you hear my reason why you might understand." He paced around some trying to figure out how to start. He temporarily ignored what the kid had to say until he was finished. He would answer him once he had said his piece.
"As I said I was abandoned as a baby on the doorstep of an orphanage. Having been born a mutants and one that looks the way I do wasn't easy. I was constantly teased, made fun of and even beat up sometimes because I looked different. When I was eight years old I ran away from the orphanage and stumbled upon a group of mutant kids much like myself. Many where born a mutant like myself. Some came into their powers at a young age. The group of kids ran from the youngest age of four to the eldest who was twelve. We became a family, we helped each other and survived together. We never made fun of what another person looked like. We where all different and it didn't matter." Shadow stopped for a minute and took a drink for his mouth was becoming dry.
Before Torus could say anything he continued again. "By the time I was thirteen I had become the strongest of them all which made me their leader. I thought of things that none of the others ever thought about to help us survive. Things where great. When I was fourteen a new mutant joined her name was Janet but everyone called her Leo. She was beautiful. She had golden fur and a tufted tail. She was like the human version of a lion. It was love at first sight. We became very close, we where always there for each other. The next few years where great. But when I was eighteen years old a group of humans attacked our hide away. They took everyone including Janet. I tried to get to her and free her as well as the others. But it was impossible for me. There where to many of them. My best option was to run and hope to find help. I fallowed them to a building. As the doors open I could hear the screams of mutants coming from inside. It's been two years now. I still haven't been able to find help to free them. That is why I believe humans need to suffer and pay."
Shadow sighed and took another drink finishing his bottle. he was glad the boy drank much from his bottle. "Again I'm sorry I did not mean to hurt you badly. But I am becoming more and more desperate. I fear the longer time passes the more likely my friends will be killed." Shadow sighed knowing he had probably ruined any chance of getting help from the kid. Moving forward he unlocked the boy from the chains. "Whether you help me or not is up to you. If you choose not to help me I'll take you out. I just needed you to hear my story."
Hearing the boy say that they related was a bunch of bull. Having pointed ears came nothing close to being related to him. Shadow was covered in thick black fur, he had pointed ears like a cat and a cat like a cat. And than there are his feet which are more like panther paws and claws. His hands where fairly normal thankfully but he could extract claws like a cat if needed. "At least you can hide your appearance kid. Look at me, really look at me. Do you think you could ever know how it feels to look like me?" Walking over to a switch more lights came on lighting the cave up better so the kid could get a good look at him.

“I’ll listen to what you have to say.” Torus said with a soft nod as he looked down at the water bottle again. He was starting to feel thirsty once more. Even though he had already drunken about half of it, what Shadow had said earlier was correct probably, he didn’t have to know a whole lot about the medical world but he knew that if he had loosed that much of blood it would have been costly to the fluids in his body. So he opened the cap again and took a few sips, but not a lot knowing that his body may not be able to handle it all. And then he placed the cap back onto the top of the bottle and continued to listen to what Shadow had to say.
That story was an interesting one; a sad one as well as he listened. There was a lot; in fact it made himself and his own past look dull. Being a half mutant and Skrull sounded kind of dull now. It wasn’t as exciting. On the other hand, Torus was surprised, so was that the reason why he wanted him to be captured? He was also a bit annoyed. He could have just asked without injuring himself from earlier or even forcing him to join a team that he did not want too. A part of him would have said no, but would his father have said the same? He was even unsure at this question. But he remembered one thing that his uncle had told him, and he kept it to this day, do what you feel is right and enjoy. Otherwise, why continue it if it wasn’t fun at all? Those words were like wisdom to him. “Fine I’ll join you in this and help you with your friends. That’s if I can help you with anything. I’m not that experienced with fighting such as hand to hand combat, but I do certainly know a thing or two about fire.” He said but winced as he felt Shadow turn on the lights after taking his chains off. He rubbed his eyes after realizing that his hands were now free and as well as his legs.
So he stood this time a bit slowly as he looked up to see Shadow’s form. In one way it bothered him but another thing he didn’t mind it at all as he looked back at him. Torus himself had seen so many strange things in his days from trying to help his father, mother and other members on the team that it didn’t really bother him. “It doesn’t bother me that much. I’m kind of used to the strange things that monsters sometimes that we end up fighting back with my family.” He said wondering if it had been a good idea to this. But he reached out to put a hand gently to try and touch Shadow’s fur if he’d let him. If there was a no in his voice, he would obviously take his hand back before he tried to harm him in return.
“Can I?” He asked him though half of him was guessing that Shadow wouldn’t let him touch his fur…he couldn’t help it but he just had a strange feeling….

Shadow waited for what seamed like forever before Torus finally replied. But he knew it was only seconds. He knew he had gone about this wrong but there was nothing he could do about it now. At least his friends would soon be free he hoped. But they would need more than just the two of them. There where hundreds of men guarding the place with guns. "We'll need more people to help us. There are to many for just us two to take on by ourselves. If you want to return home until the time is right you may. I will send a message to you once I think we have enough mutants on our side. And again I'm sorry for going about this the wrong way. I have learned my lesson." He would be more careful in the future.
He just hoped the kid could be completely healed. If not he would forever regret damaging his eyes. He may have scars but everyone had scars. He was more worried about the boys eyes. He had thought the scales on the dragon would of kept the swords from doing to much damage. But he had been wrong.
When the kid began to speak again he tilted his ears forward a little. Hearing the word monster he flattened his ears and bared his teeth slightly. But he knew the boy meant well. So he gave his head a shake. What shocked him was when the boy asked to touch his fur. Again he flattened his ears. He wasn't sure. The only one who had ever touched his fur before was Leo. Shrugging he raised an arm. "Sure just make sure to go with the hair. Like a cat if you go against it it can hurt a little."

"I will get my eye fixed don't worry about that, maybe my uncle can look at it. Either way if I go to a hospital I'm sure they'll be able to restore most of my vision." Torus assured Shadow. Though he wondered if he would still worry for himself, being that he was young he had much to learn in his age. But ignored that thought knownig that every parent was like that. They would worry about their kids. He was sure either of his parents, would be worrying about him now. But he knew he'd return soon so their panic would be over. Of course, on the flip side, maybe they still assumed that he was with his uncle.
"But I understand I can ask my parents if they want to join. Even the other family members like my cousins may be willing to try it. They've got a load of powers that could be helpful with this mission." Torus added knowing that he had two cousins from his Aunt's side including Frankln and Valeria.
"And alright....your fur feels warm." He added as he tried something. He also let the temperature rise from the heat that he had from his fire abilities and his thermokinesis. Normally it would have felt warmer than normal than a normal touch. He was still cautious about what Shadow said. As he looked back to his ears seeing how they were. He kind of understood cats. He could at least tell when they were down which meant that they were angry or annoyed at someone.
But he quickly let go as he realized that he might have annoyed Shadow, "Well I guess I better get back to my family. If anything they're probably worried about me. Which isn't good." He added showing some concern knowing that it was probably true.

Shadow felt relieved a little. But he wouldn't feel completely relieved until he knew for sure. "If you want once healed I can help train you. I learned to control my powers all by myself. I had no one to teach me. Well besides my friends we helped each other out. Any help would be appreciated. I have to get to Leo before anything happens to her. It's already been two years. Which is two long." Would she hate him for not getting captured as well? Would the others? No he didn't think so they had been a family and he knew they would know that he is doing everything he can to find a way to free them.
"It's like a cat's fur really. I have allot of abilities cat's have, amazing eye sight, sense of hearing, balance and agility, swiftness, and not to mention the teeth and claws." Shadow lifted his hands and three inch claws slid out from his hands. "The claws on my feet... ergh back paws stay out don't know why." Shadow could tell he was a little worried than realized his ears where flat. "Sorry just a little nervous. I've been alone for two years."
At the mention of him leaving he nodded. "Ok you might want to close your eyes. It can make some people a bit nauseous." He got a strong but gentle grip on Torus than closed his eyes and pictured the alley besides the Future Foundation building. There was a slight whoosh sound that he was used to hearing. His feet left the ground and it seemed like they where flying very fast. They where in fact moving at the speed of light. When he felt ground beneath his feet again he opened his eyes. He let go Torus and leaned against the building. He would need to rest before going back. He would find an abandoned place to rest. As he looked around he noticed the light outside was slowly getting darker as the sun began to set. He figured it had to be about seven pm maybe eight almost. He wasn't sure he didn't have a clock. "How you feeling Torus?"

Torus seemed a bit surprised at how cat like his reflexes and physiology was as he looked at them before he decided to teleport. As he saw the grey fur, the claws, and the ears it all made sense now at why he didn't entirely enjoy the form. Well in a way he didn't say much as he merely nodded, just relieved that he was going back home. Knowing if he said any more it might have irritated Shadow. As they teleported back he closed his eyes but flinched as he felt the one that had been cut from earlier. Though he ignored the pain as best as he could before he realized that the air around them was no longer cold. They were no longer in Shadow's home that he had found.
As he opened his eyes up again he could see that they were in New York again. He seemed releaved but as he tried to stand he felt dizzy as he put a hand on his head to try and help his head remain still. "Ugh I feel a bit dizzy. I doubt I couldn't walk that far without falling over my own feet again." He said hoping that the dizziness would wear off soon. The last thing that he wanted to do was change into his plasma form and attempt flying. That had probably been a bad idea from the start as he sat down on one of the nearby benches knowing it was better if he did than sitting on the ground.
"Sorry but I hope it wears off soon. I'm not used to teleporting like you are, mostly flying." He added as he remained still hoping that the dizziness would wear off.

Shadow smiled, "It should wear off in five minutes or so. It usually doesn't last long. It doesn't even effect me any more. It used to when I was a kid. But I have grown stronger, and an with stand the dizziness. But I grow week by traveling long distances that way. I will need sleep and food before I can travel back. I will stay at the place I always do when I come here via the shadows."
Reaching into his back pack he grabbed two bottles of water. He tossed one to Torus and downed the second within seconds. The ice cold water felt good running down his throat. And restored him if but a little. He had food stored in a building not to far away. Once he was sure Torus would be ok he would head there for food and rest. After a few minutes he looked to Torus. "How do you feel any better? Do you think you can walk the short distance to you place?"

"Well if the option ever comes, maybe I could ask my parents if you wanted to stay with us. We always have plenty of room in the Baxter Buildiing." Torus offered as he looked back at Shadow feeling bad for him. It seemed like they always had room for one more when the Future Foundation is there. "Then again if you perfer to live by yourself that's fine too." He added knowing he might object to it. He caught the water bottle that Shadow had with him as he opened the cap on it. He then drank about a quarter of the water that was in it enjoying the refreshing. He paused to drink a bit more of it after taking a quick breath in it. "I can try walking. Let's see how well I do after well our fight." Torus said as he put the cap back on the water battle. He felt like he was up and being able to stand, but just in case he held onto the side wall for support, incase his vision failed him again like it did while they were in the caves. And slowly he lifted himself up, and carefully he stood using a lot of strength in his upper body. "So far so good." He assured Shadow seeing nothing was wrong with his body. Now the next part was to come and take a quick step. He was relieved to see nothing else was injured and his walking was fine. "And I can walk pretty well too."
