Much like Sarah another young mutant was having his own troubles with his powers, his being very random at times they activated and he couldn't always prevent them. James was actually already convinced he would eventually hurt his fellow students if he couldn't help himself in getting these powers under control. At this rate he was still fairly new to the school and very much a recent activation as of late. At the moment they weren't doing anything so he had decided to take a walk in hopes clearing his mind might help, just having a feeling it may be the stress that was getting to him.

But could that be what was affecting the random out bursts? Perhaps. But it couldn't be the only reason and James was certain about that one. Sighing he could only run a hand through his mahogany colored hair as he arrived to the woods, the young man already quite frustrated with the whole ordeal. But a sudden angry voice made him jump slightly that James almost thought he was hearing things, but sure enough the voice came again and her quickly moved to see who it was. Not surprisingly though it turned about to be one of his fellow students but no one he was yet familiar with since he knew few students as of yet.

Though after a moment when Sarah calmed down enough he went to clear his throat to get her attention before a few aurora beams blasted in two different directions, blowing up parts of the tree canopies. Now if that didn't alert her James didn't know what would but it wasn't exactly how he had planned for that to go. "Doh! Not again!"He groaned as he facepalmed himself.

When Sarah screamed it made James flinch slightly, knowing he had gone and done it again in scaring someone by mistake thanks to his powers. But when the temperature began to drop and ice began to form James couldn't help but react in making a green barrier varying in several hues to avoid ending up an icicle himself, though the cold still made him shiver slightly, not quite use to it. "S-sorry that was a mistake, I didn't mean to frighten you and I wasn't trying to harm you."He called to Sarah, knowing he would be in plain sight as he still had the barrier up.

Though he was surprised it held some resistance to the element power which made him somewhat relieved but knew it would last only so long. Not to mention this was one of the few times he consciously used his powers for something other then training by himself. But that was the least of his issues as he hoped Sarah would understand it had been a total misunderstanding and that he really didn't mean any harm.

James watched for some sign Sarah was listening and after a moment she had peeked around and the temperature had warmed again enough he wasn't cold. But after a bit he allowed the barrier to disappear, blinking a bit as his once light green eyes turned to a blue-green next on their own the next moment. "Yes I am, and from the looks of things so are you."He said to her, trying to be calm and still felt bad for startling her like he just did. "My name is James Redfeather and I didn't really mean to frighten you, I just don't have the best control."He explained to her while rubbing the back of her neck at this point not quite knowing how to explain things.

Glad to see Sarah was no longer afraid James managed a small smile,"Well glad to hear that and nice to meet you Sarah."He said to her before he gave the clearing a quick look around, seeing the ice was still there and slowly melting. Though either way he had to admit he was a little impressed before looking back at Sarah,"So your an ice manipulator?"James asked curiously, wondering if that was her only power since he knew there was a few there apparently, one of them being Bobby Drake. Though once again his eyes turned to a lighter green on their own.

James couldn't help chuckling slightly but nodded,"You know it's very likely since ice is so closely associated to water. You never know until it reveals itself."He said to her before looking back where the trees had been blasted and rubbed the back of his neck as his gaze went back to her."Mine is a type of energy manipulation I think, or something along those lines. But more specifically it's called Aurora Generation, I manipulate the same energies that cause an aurora you'd see in the poles."He explained to her wondering what she would think.

Though he smiled at her last words, knowing she wasn't trying to be hurtful or making fun of him. "Well only about three days at the most, my powers didn't activate until a week and half ago so it's still something I'm trying to figure out."James added.

James nodded, knowing it would take time to discover what really cause his abilities to get so haywire at the moment but he he smiled at Sarah's offer. "Sure, this place is so big maybe two heads will be better then one sometimes. Especially true with how huge this place is."He said looking back towards the way he had come and shaking his head as he hadn't really got a look at this place fully quite yet. But he chuckled as a thought came to him,"Well if we get lost I can always fire a distress signal, trust me I don't think they'd miss it."He said with a chuckle.

James nodded as he smiled, beginning to walk along side Sarah. He was quite glad he could possibly gain a friend out of this and know a fellow student who was about as new as he was which was a comforting thing. But he had to agree with her when this place was huge that it was difficult to pick a place to start walking around and looking at it all. Which unfortunately wasn't likely to happen in a day and like Sarah said they would only have so much daylight, unless maybe he used his aurora aura to create a type of light.

"Well my life was pretty normal Sarah, like most of everyone here. In fact I came all the way from Africa where my father was from, but my mom is from here in the US since she's an Inuit indian."James explained to her as they walked, ducking below a tree branch that was at his height before looking back at her."It was a pretty small village life compared to a big city, and for the most part i was raised by my mother though I never knew my father."He said, the african accent slightly obvious in his voice.
