Hope didn't know why things had suddenly began to become so frustrating. First it had started with the fact she couldn't get ay leads on knowing if her adoptive father was alive or not, and she had yet to sense any trace of him in this time. Second, she had her equally free spirited and hot headed mother pressing for her to abandon her mission of finding Cable and being an Avenger to come home. This primarily stemmed from the news cast sent out by Magneto and his Brotherhood to which to some extent Hope guessed her mother was a little fearful of her being drawn to such a place. Which she never would. And now suddenly it seemed a day a low ranking band of a gang had decided to try and test her patience.
Where the young red head stood the men were surrounding her, the area being somewhat off the beaten path of the shopping district of New York. Their looks were something that made the young teen uncomfortable and a million thoughts ran through her mind at what many might be thinking. Certainly not some of the greatest or nicest things, or even gruesome ones she cared not to think of. And it was a simple exchange of words their intent was known: they planned to take her one way or another.
With a low growl Hope began to fight back and keep them somewhat at bay,"Back off."Hope said in a warning tone, really not in the mood for this. Still they came and in one foul swoop were lunging at her all at once. In the midst of the bodies Hope got a few hits, even a cut by a knife but she still fought back with all her might. At the same time her raging anger continued to rise until she felt like she was going to burst,"I said BACK OFF!"In a sharp meloedic cry Hope seemed to burst with a flaming aura taking the shape of a fiery raptor bird, irises becoming a similar fiery orange that caused several to be blown back or burned and others to back away.
It was in that instant Hope was releasing her power of the Phoenix out of pure annoyance and rage. Even the gang were appaulled and lost for words, but given no time as Hope didn't hesitate to attack them. And in the distance several pedestrians screamed in terror as they bolted away in all directions, trying to avoid becoming the next target of the enraged teen.
