Over all Personality: Since his young years Nova was known to have an arrogant mind that has made him more mistakes than some people would have made. He jumps into things too quickly with this pride that he has, thinking that this pride would help him in a situation. Sam has an unexplained fear of rabbits once portrayed in a dream that he had brought back and has had it for as long as he can remember. Sure it sounds ridiculous, but think of it as someone having a fear to flying, heights, or even fire. As Nova has matured this part of his mistake making habit has fallen in the past couple of years since he joined SHIELD. Nova has a large amount of determination and will in order to do what he thinks is right and always helps out his allies when needed. Not once would he think of turning against his allies even if someone desperately tried to convince him to do it.

Since he can fly, he has no real fear of it. In fact he enjoys it instead of fearing it. Sam seems to have loyalty towards his family, the members of SHIELD and also his friends that he comes into contact. Sure they deserve a few put downs or calling names, but he can't help it. He has grown up to a mature adult in most matters, and knows when that others want him no longer want him to tease or bother him.

Over all Appearance: Sam Alexander stands at six feet evenly, and weighs one hundred and seventy pounds. He has short black hair that is just below his ears. His skin is very white in color. Lastly, the colors of his eyes are a deep blue. While Sam is not in costume, he plays the role of an innocent human trying to go on in his life. He tends to wear what is going on in the range of style at the time. He will usually wear long jean pants and a t-shirt, followed by a jacket with a hood on the back. And has sneakers that he wears for his sports or outside activities.

Sam's costume is dark black and gold. The helmet portrays a four pointed star on it, the last one point is straight down, and ends up on his nose. The others protrude to the left, right and the last one straight up. The star is a deep red. The helmet is black in color. Other golden areas on his costume include his shoulders, chest and gloves. On his chest, the back color is a deep black, and the other colors include the same gold from his helmet. The markings point out in a triangle, and at the corners of the triangle, form three circles. While Sam has the ability to fly, usually you can tell he is flying or levitating by the blue glow that he gives off.

Items: Nova's helmet holds the powers of his Nova Force. The Nova Force gives him a fraction of the power to be super human. Nova's helmet is described as a black color with red four pointed star on it. It also has an area that covers his eyes making them look white in color.

Tactician Training: If it is left up to Nova he is not afraid to lead a group if it is neccessary. He will consider multiple actions before jumping into them. Nova has improved heavily since his days of being a young rookie and will consider other's advice as well.
Powers: Super Human Strength: Super Human Strength: Nova's strength has been enhanced by the Nova Force, so much that he can lift up to twenty tons, easily.

Super Human durability: Sam has a heavy resistance to certain things. Although he may not be Asgardian or a mutant he does have some things that he can withstand. He can withstand caliber rifle bullets, falls from about one hundred feet or higher, energy blasts, acidic corrosives, and all of which he can handle without suffering from tremendous injury.

Super Human Speed: Once again, Nova's ability to channel energy from the Nova Force plays a key for his speed. His fastest so far is the ability to go four hundred miles an hour.

Super Human Reflexes: Sam's reflexes have been enhanced to the point of a skilled human athlete. His reaction time is about 15 kilometers per hour. Sam can easily dodge fists coming in as offensive blows, although if they have super human speed they might be able to outmaneuver Sam and beat him.

Super Human Endurance: Nova's fighting strength and running can last for five hours compared to his flying time before he is exhausted and is forced to rest. Normally he has to rest for a few hours, roughly about three or four before he is able to use his abilities again.

Flight: Nova can fly through the air at tremendous speeds. Some of the great length of speed that he has been able to handle is about 400 miles per hour very easily. It was enough to let him travel to the moon and back, and that is without coming to suffering of mental and strength fatigue. Sam can usually stay up in the air for about seven hours before having to come down and rest. He usually has to rest for about ten hours again before he'd be able use his powers. When he is flying, he has this ability to show it by turning a bright blue, and it seems to shimmer around his body. It doesn't cover over his body but it is on the outside.

Energy Beam Protection: Nova can use the Nova Force that he wields in order to create energy beams, that he can use against enemies. Nova fires his energy beams through his hands and is unable to use them anywhere else. His longest energy beam that he has been able to fire are roughly seventy feet in length, in his rage of being able to fire one. His shortest has been no more than a few feet long. Like his flying ability he also has the energy beams as a bright blue. It is suggested that his energy beams are using photons.

Weaknesses:
Helmet: Nova's helmet controls his powers if he looses his helmet he will be powerless and be very vulnerable from attack.

Human Limit: Nova can be exposed to sicknesses and disease just like every other human. He does not have a healing factor so he will be out of commission for weeks depending on how sick or injured he is. Nova can handle 15 hours before having to rest and recover from the exhaustion that his flight, fighting and running. If he keeps this up constantly he will have to rest for about half a day before being able to get back up again.

History: Sam was the first born of the Alexander family, and next was his sister Kaelynn Alexander to Jessie and Eva Alexander. The family lived out in a place called Carefree Arizona. There they endured the heat of the state and of the southern states. However, Jessie's chance was cut short on seeing the kids as they were to grow up without having a father. He disappeared without a trace. This left Eva to take care of the two children by herself. Sam was about two years old and Kaelynn was just barely one. They would have little memory of their father as he just disappeared out of their lives. When Sam and Kaelynn started to grow up, their mother would tell them stories of who their father was. The biggest one was that he had been a part of a group that allowed certain humans ban together in order to have some super heroism. If they possessed a great amount of skill and ability that could be put to use through their alliance with the . Their father had been a part of that organization and went on many interesting trips where he fought valiantly many times. Even Kaelynn stated to her brother that her favorite story was the trip where Jessie made a ring around Saturn when he visited the planet.

About the time Sam turned 13, he became more and more convinced that his father was still alive somewhere. And he just couldn't come home. So he was determined to do his best to try and find him, no matter what his mom said that he would never find him. Sam continued to search whenever he got the chance. Even when he was out of school, he continued to look for his father. One day when he was on one of his 'searches' he was on his skate board as he tried to perform a move. But instead he fell off onto the ground and hit his head hard in the pavement. Sam later woke up in the hospital finding that he had a minor concussion. Sam was out of the hospital a week later as he was kept an eye on by his family to make sure that he wouldn't do anything reckless again like that.

Finally his mother was convinced that he should learn the truth about something of his father. That the stories she had told him were not fantasy tales, they were indeed true. She had a package for him as he opened it, finding a helmet similar to the one that his mother described in the story. It was the helmet called the Black Nova Helmet. Sam seemed eager to try it on to see if it would do anything. However he felt too ashamed, fearing that he might not be able to be the man that his father was, so he told his mother to put it away. He wanted to live a normal life.

It was about the time Sam turned 16, he would have to learn to use the helmet for the first time. A fire broke out in their home as Sam rushed to get his sister out. They later found themselves trapped down in the basement where his father's helmet had been stored as he managed to get his mother out in time as she called the emergency 911. They had no place to go, but Sam found the helmet just in time before the box was burned to the ground. He had no choice but to put it on as he felt the energy and power starting to burn and grow into him. He grabbed a hold of his sister and flew out of the building before the home could crash down onto them. He rescued his sister and his mother, as she was overjoyed to see that her two children were okay. And one statement had been, Sam looked just like his father in the uniform that he wore.

Sam began to wonder where he could help others and be on a super hero like team. The Brotherhood, the X-Men were out of the question, and so was the Hellfire. Finally Sam decided that he would try for joining a team. The X-Men and brotherhood were out of the question, so he turned to SHIELD to possibly become an agent there. He was accepted, but he has a lot to learn as he goes through the ranks. For years now he began to grow and was molded into a SHIELD agent, Nova has begun to learn about his powers and how useful they were. He still hasn't come across his father any time soon and is convinced that he was dead a long time ago. If he had been alive, he would have returned a long time ago.
